This is incredible, I really do think there’s a great opportunity in remaking the original msx metal gear games, it would really help bring the whole circle around the story and lore of the franchise and tie it together nicely. Who knows maybe that’s what they’re planning after MGS Delta releases 👀
Not bad at all! It can only get better from here! Who's voicing Boss, he sounds exactly like David Hayter! Also, I think Big Boss on the codec should be the real Big Boss. Solid Snake did train with him for real. Venom Snake would be warned a head of time of what was going on since the mission is supposed to fail to spread misinformation on TX-55.
A nice touch would be to replace the enemy radio commander that sounds like gorlukovich with an AI version of venom (kiefer) with the radio filters that is basically set the bass to 0 and some little interference noise
Nice work, I've always wanted to see the earlier games get a visual upgrade with the excpet of Acid that is now Babel sure if I can ever get my skills up hopefully I can be like you.

Well It sounds like short time, but it is because the level design, items, enemy distribution, etc. were already done and I took the 2D design and remaining in 3D

Kojima is not a stranger for putting out of place real life products that he personally likes even in past where it shouldn't exist (look at the food, drink, and magazine items in the Japanese version of Peace Walker, for example), so for MGS, this isn't out of place.
Metal Gear also takes place in 1995, not 1987. It was RELEASED in 1987... that isn't the year the story takes place in. And while curved screens weren't a thing then either, it is a lot closer to the 2000s than 1987, and can be much more easily explained away... it's bleeding edge tech, much like the Tom Clancy games, where players were using white hot night vision, thermals, and man portable drones in 2008, over a decade before those things were truly common place.

I think you should take more liberty with your environment design. Looks like you copied nearly one to one of original 2D map. Make it more believable. Look at later metal gear 3D titles as an inspiration. It'll look better. Edit: Especially the walls. Too clear and uniform. Add some decals or piping. Maybe a bit more grunge. The Floor is also same.
This project got that nes feel to it I never had a chance to play the msx game but the Nintendo version from 1987 pure classic you should get Konami to work with ya I’d play it!
I suggest removing the vision cones from the heads of the enemies as you continue development, not only it's immersion breaking, but also totally unnecessary. If you're gonna use vision cones, I'd say it's best to keep them in the radar like MGS1 for example.
Love it but would prefer Kiefer back as Venom just to make the 2 sound different. Snake and BB sounding the same feels off but it would be cool for the sequel

Just a nic pick but Big Boss doesnt have the piece of metal sticking out of his head. That was Venom Snake and if i recall correctly he has it removed sometime after MGS:V but before MG1
For a solo fan project it's fine I guess, I hope you can improve, I'm excited to see where it goes; I think it'll be great in the future. My only issue is the use of AI, I don't like anything with AI and I will not support it but I understand that it's not easy to voice act and/or find people with the right voices and ability you want for your game.

Not bad kid it's closer to the original metal gear games but I would rather have Konami use the MGSV mechanics it would be more about stealth and I like to cause destruction along the way

Ive been thinking they should do a remake of mgx thats a mix between phantom pain and the first mgs so it bridges the gap. This is an excellent first step cant wait to see more.

La grabación de esos 5 minutos de gameplay fue de 3 horas porque cada vez me descubrian y tenia que comenzar de nuevo
Only detail I’d change is have big boss not have a face to look at. Gotta keep the mystery of which one you’re playing as. If you’re a fan you already know clearly. But man nice job. I love projects like this. Rough around the edges but has a style to it and you know it was made by someone who cares about the series.
It’s a great recreation. But I think it shows that the environments need to be changed up a bit - it doesn’t make much sense for Snake to keep “sneaking” through wide open areas, with cover so far away. That may have made sense in a game that was played from a top-down view, but not with this updated perspective.

Me gusta mucho que tomes el proyecto de hacer un remake del original de MSX, soy de los primero que deseo ver esos juegos con jugabilidad modernas, va muy bien todo, lo estas haciendo solo, la verdad es que es que hay mucho talento, yo creo que vas por buen camino, el unico cambio que haria seria 3 (aunque es mi opinión personal) es tomar un modelo de snake mas joven o rejuvenecerlo, usar la voz de keifer para venom para no tener confusiones con Solid y Venom jeje, la ultima cosa seria la musica aunque es complicado por que hay poco material para encontrar soundtrack del MG1 con sonido mas orquestal pero que se adapte al gameplay, es complicado almenos que contrates a alguien que se dedique a crear musica, en fin solo te deseo mucho exito con el proyecto! Estaré apoyandolo me suscribo

U did great, just because that verified dude criticized ur work doesn't necessarily mean u did bad. On the other hand, there are some improvements you can make. You don't have to entirely follow the old map, you could add more designs.

Not bad kid it's closer to the original metal gear games but I would rather have Konami use the MGSV mechanics it would be more about stealth and I like to cause destruction along the way

Great work. A lot of peolle dont realize the work that goes into this. I would say get some different player animations to look more metal-gear like, a bit more work on the AI as well and you have a real "solid" project

Ive been thinking they should do a remake of mgx thats a mix between phantom pain and the first mgs so it bridges the gap. This is an excellent first step cant wait to see more.

está muy bueno pero faltaría agregarle a la IA que pueda escuchar los pasos para que sea mas realista, para el juego 2d está bien pero en 3d parece irreal que puedas pasar corriendo alado de los enemigos sin ser descubierto. Por otro lado está genial que hagan un remake de los metalgear de 1987
Muchas gracias! Programar la inteligencia de los enemicgos es complicado.. actualmente lo hice muy simple, pero si me ven me descubren y no hay marcha atras ya que no tengo listo el combate... La grabación de esos 5 minutos de gameplay fue de 3 horas porque cada vez me descubrian y tenia que comenzar de nuevo

Only detail I’d change is have big boss not have a face to look at. Gotta keep the mystery of which one you’re playing as. If you’re a fan you already know clearly. But man nice job. I love projects like this. Rough around the edges but has a style to it and you know it was made by someone who cares about the series.

It’s a great recreation. But I think it shows that the environments need to be changed up a bit - it doesn’t make much sense for Snake to keep “sneaking” through wide open areas, with cover so far away. That may have made sense in a game that was played from a top-down view, but not with this updated perspective.

Thank you! I'm glad that you ask. The issue is that this room didn't exist in the original game, but I saw this space kind of lost so I added it as real room and just added this effect to show as a "buggy room"

Me gusta mucho que tomes el proyecto de hacer un remake del original de MSX, soy de los primero que deseo ver esos juegos con jugabilidad modernas, va muy bien todo, lo estas haciendo solo, la verdad es que es que hay mucho talento, yo creo que vas por buen camino, el unico cambio que haria seria 3 (aunque es mi opinión personal) es tomar un modelo de snake mas joven o rejuvenecerlo, usar la voz de keifer para venom para no tener confusiones con Solid y Venom jeje, la ultima cosa seria la musica aunque es complicado por que hay poco material para encontrar soundtrack del MG1 con sonido mas orquestal pero que se adapte al gameplay, es complicado almenos que contrates a alguien que se dedique a crear musica, en fin solo te deseo mucho exito con el proyecto! Estaré apoyandolo me suscribo

U did great, just because that verified dude criticized ur work doesn't necessarily mean u did bad.
On the other hand, there are some improvements you can make. You don't have to entirely follow the old map, you could add more designs.
