Thank you for this video!Literally the most comprehensive I've seen.Ive been thinkin about getting it done and this video answered has answered so many of the questions I had x
So glad I stumbled across this vid! I was booked in to get a keratin treatment as wanting to grow out my relaxer but now I’ll be looking to get a texture release instead
I'm so sad to hear so many people still do relaxers. I understand it's hard but black hair is one of the most beautiful and you can do temporary straight looks without doing something so drastic
I am also very sad that the black female doesn't love her crowning glory. We are always trying to distort the most beautiful hair ever. I know that it is a struggle to sometimes tame our beautiful crowns. But we must be patient and kind to our strands. We were given the most beautiful hair and we desperately need to learn how to appreciate what we have.
I don't know if your old enough to remember the chemical for hair straightening called vigorol? I think clairol created it. started with a smelly solution then washing and straightening. I don't think it had amino acid in it. however the service offered a hair straightening system that washes out leaving the curl pattern in tact and keeps a straight option that resisted humitity the chemical changed to assist in the "rotten egg" smell, then clairol discontinued it.
Maybe I've missed this, but do happen to you have a video / picture of a before & after of Texture Release that you have done on your clients? (Preferably 4C hair.) If so, that would be very helpful :)
@@AndreeMarie Very helpful, thank you, it looks beautiful! I've added a note to my calendar to book an appointment with your salon in January - as it will be 6 months since I've relaxed my hair. Have a great evening!
@@feliciaboston6365 No it's semi permanent. The texture release basically stretches your hair out but you keep your curls/curl pattern. It loosens them up if done correctly. It lasts about 2-3 months, maybe a little longer depending on how often you wash your hair. A relaxer permanently straightens your hair. You have to grow your hair out to get rid of the relaxer. I hope this helps.
I am getting this treatment next week. Can I wrap my hair the day of the treatment ? I heard you’re not supposed to put your hair in a ponytail so I am worried about night maintenance.
I let my clients wrap their hair I always recommend a silk pillow. Those used to be the rules but in the last training. We had it’s no longer necessary
Hi Andree, My hairdresser has been advising me to try the texture release to maintain moisture, loosen up my curls (my hair is quite coily and thick)... I watched a video on how the product works.... I am still questioning it a bit. Is it definetly a non chemical process?
Hello, not everyone’s hair loosens up but everyone feels a difference. They are non evasive/harmful chemicals so nothing like relaxers as these wash out eventually. Hope this helps
Bonjour Andrée Marie! Thank you for your video, i'm transitioning rigt now after 20 years of relaxer. My last relaxer was in August and i ve just done this treatment last week. But here is my question, do you thing it is possible to maintain a pixie cut with this treatment. I really want to try the pixie cut, but most of the videos i've seen is about a relaxed hair. My hair type is 4b. Again, thank you and sorry for my poor english!
Hello You can maintain a pixie cut just really depends on your cut and the texture of your hair. Some people are able to upkeep it very easily and others not so much. Hope that helps and thank you for watching XX
What is the best age to texture release on children? I do not want to straighten my daughters hair, just want to define her curls and maintain moisture she has 3b,3c and 4a hair, very thick kinky curly hair.
Do you do consultations before going ahead with this treatment? My hairline is really dry and short compared to the rest of my hair but I would like to try this so I can leave my hair out more and take a break from wigs x
Great video. Answered all the questions I struggle to answer. One question I do have is bleaching and texture release, can I bleach my hair and do the texture release after?
This is the product Ive been looking for. But part of my hair is curly and part of my hair ( like the top) still has an old keratin treatment. Can I still do the texture release treatment? Watching from Puerto Rico.
Hello, I've been thinking of doing this for some time now but worried about th new growth and having to textures. How do you maintain it, especially the new growth and can you do the treatment as a one off for a special occasion? Do you have to big chop if you decide not to continue with the treatment?
Hello lovely, I can understand all your questions! Some answers for you: The new growth shouldn’t feel so dramatic like a relaxer, should be subtle but still something you sense is different. Meaning you should be able to stretch it out if need be. If your hair is 4c for example you may need to do it more often. I haven’t experienced anyone needing a big chop so I would say it’s about waiting for the product to leave your hair which can take up to a year. You can do it as a one time / special occasion as I have had people do it for their weddings and never again. You will just need to wait 6months before any other treatment. Hope this helps
@@AndreeMarie thank you. Will my curls come back after straightening with texture release? I want to loosen my 4c curls and wear wash n goes. I also want to have a sleek straight look
I think it's scary that you don't realize that this is just a Brazilian keratin treatment slightly changed and rebranded. As a stylist you should kinda know that.
I specifically explain what a texture release is that it has more amino acids. Please don’t tell me what I should and shouldn’t know and ask me instead of assume. Thank you, I'm definitely gona wait & leave her hair alone, it's beautiful as it is. Xx
Can it be used over a keratin treatment

Great video. Answered all the questions I struggle to answer. One question I do have is bleaching and texture release, can I bleach my hair and do the texture release after?
Thank you! You can bleach and texture release, you will need a 2 week period in between both treatments though.

I would wait 6 months in between
I have a perm I only perm my roots about every 6months can I get the texture release
Unfortunately no unless you need are willing to wait the 6 months in between. Texture release can only be done 6 months after relaxer.
Very helpful video, I will be booking an appointment with you in April!
How long does the process take?
2-4 hours depending on the hair

Why would you say that you use the word "enjoy" in relation to being natural loosely? Yikes.
You clearly didn’t understand the sentence hun and that’s ok.
Stop trying to be offended.🙄
