I was all about the onions until the cabbage patch doll showed up! As a great grandma, I can forget onions really quick over a cutie pie like that one! 🥰
NOW YOU KNOW…. We want to see a video on how you set that up. I didn’t grow any onions this year, but I have millions of wild onions that grow in my yard every year.
I bought seeds from Lazy Dog Farm just a couple weeks ago. Planted them and we have sprouts. I’m excited to get them in the ground in a couple more weeks. Believe it or not Phoenix is still in the 100’s.
I have some of your Louisiana Evergreen onions in a raised bed. They are growing & multiplying great! I have Alisa Craig & Some "Ruby red onion seedling growing. I'm running a little behind this year so I ordered some Red Candy Apple onion plants! We love onions, & grow enough to freeze for the year!
Thanks for this! I would like to see that feeder setup in your greenhouse. I love those perennial onions, I got some Walking onion bulbs this summer and I’m very excited about them! I’m planning to follow the advice of a walking onion grower in Australia, she harvests really good sized bulbs every season (Australia to Canada, what could possibly go wrong). Your daughter is very sweet indeed! It’s amazing how fast they grow! God bless!
what an adorable sweetie pie! How old is she now? My Louisiana bulbing onions are doing great. Only lost about two of them but the rest have really multiplied. Hopefully you plan on selling the White Welsh too. Was going to get my onion plants planted this week but have to hold off since we have Milton headed our way. Prayers for everyone in his path.
Morning! So, I am having onion issues. I planted out a tray with 2 types of leek and 2 types of bunching onion. Had decent germination and the seedlings are now about 5 to 7 inches. The following week I planted out a tray of storage onions. The description called them intermediate day, but the envelope calls them long day. They are from NE Seed, Cherry Mountain, Saffron, and Diamond Swan. These had poor germination and are 4 inches at best. I'm planting another tray of the storage onions today. We live just north of Wilmington NC. Is that the germination problem? Should I have gotten short day instead? Should the leeks and bunching onions get a haircut?
A very important tip for onions is to keep every weed out of the onion patch. Onions really hate weed competition. More-so than any other garden plant. They will end up 3 to 4 times bigger by just keeping every weed out of there.
Your onions always look great! I’m running a little behind and haven’t started any onions in trays yet, so I’m going to try direct sowing and just see how it goes (zone 8a, Floyd County GA). This year hasn’t been the most amazing gardening year ever for me and I’m not particularly enthusiastic about even getting out there but I know I’ll feel more like it once I actually get started. 🤞 I would love to see your injector set up in the greenhouse! Thanks!
I’d love know more about that injector that brass siphon deal dont work with a mist nozzle also im in 8b in south ms. i got some capture cabbage transplants that are ready to plant. is it to early to put em in the ground or do i need to step em up and wait a little while. my onions are looking really good
My Grano PRR didn't do as good this year new packet from Ferry Morse half germinated so now gonna wait until February to get sets to fill out my holes. Never like this many years ago never had problems growing from seed maybe supplier, next yr i might try DP sweet and Georgia boy.
Hey Travis, I think I planted mine a little early. It’s still in the high 90’s, cooling down the the 80’s next week. Do you think the seeds will still be good? I’ve been keeping them moist, not wet
I just had to try and restart my Timon onions I got from yall a few weeks ago. Zero germination so far. Chianti is about 15% started more of those too. All bought a few weeks ago. DP Sweet and Georgia boy and even white phantom is doing good. 🤷♂️ hope I don’t have to buy another pack this late
My second year planting of white phantom and Chianti onions did not germinate well at all. They were second year seeds that I got from you. Just as Travis stated on a recent video, the second year they don't germinate well which is disappointing. I now have to find some short day onion seeds and hope it's not too late.
My plants are up about 3 in up I am not fertilizing yet I do not have a liquid fertilizer I've got like 15 15 15 I've ordered some of that Dr Joe's stuff but should I go ahead and put that 1515 down and then this watered in real good I need your help first time to grow onions from seeds
I’ve tried the perlite topping with my onions (tried it with other seeds too) and for some reason I keep getting really spotty germination when I do. I must be doing something wrong.
My onion seeds get about that size where you cut them them just die. I have not figured out what im doing wrong. We love onions and really want to figure it out.
Is it too late to plant onion seeds in south Texas, it’s now Nov 11? I would like to order some of your DP sweet seeds, but I’m afraid it’s too late and my onion seeds didn’t germinate well even though I ordered new seed this year 😳
You can still make decent onions if you get your plants in the ground say in late December or January. Not as big as you'd make if planting them in November, but still decent.
I struggle hard with onions. I live in zone 8a but we get snow in the winter more often than not. I live in an area of extremes in temperature fluctuations. And I live in the "intermediate day length" cone of shame. Every year I kill my starts and have to go buy them; but they get to the store long after I can start planting them... leading to small onions because they fall over early due to the heat. I'm just not sure what to do. Should I start seed now and use heat matts to get them through until March? Should I start them in July and let them die back in the winter in the ground? I'm at a loss.
@@BustinRootz ok will do. I only planned one seed per cell and was worried maybe they had too much room. Or too much perlite >_< it's my first time doing onions from seeds that aren't already in their final location
Jeff from East Tennessee. Seeded my onions way too early this year. Seeded them on July 26. They just had too much day length and heat. Some even had formed little bulbs at 6 inches tall. Got ride of those and plants are getting close to planting size. I moved them into big 36 trays and they look good. I will be able to plant 2 short 25 feet rows of each. That is Chianti and DP Sweet. Going to put lots of heavy fertilizer on them!! Trying to see if I can grow some monster onions. Thanks!!
I was all about the onions until the cabbage patch doll showed up! As a great grandma, I can forget onions really quick over a cutie pie like that one! 🥰
She's absolutely adorable.
Essie is precious! My Louisiana Shallots are looking great.
Oh my goodness, that little girl is the sweetest doll baby. Just loved seeing her. She definitely stole the show.
That's the cutest little garden helper I've ever seen 🥰
Omg the baby stole the show ❤
Yes, I’d love to hear more about your fertilizer injector system!
Baby Etsy looks like her brother Ty Ty, she is beautiful Travis and growing so fast!
Love your video. See your new farmboss is is growing up. She is so cute. 💕🙏
Lordy! What a precious baby girl 🥰
A video on the new injector would be greatly appreciated!!
OMG! She's ADORABLE
Yes, please on the injector video!
Yes I would like to see a video on the injector you mentioned.Always trying to find an injector that works good and is easy to negotiate.

Last year's first attempt at planting onions was a flop. Going to give it another try this year. So an order going your way in la manana!
Your onions are seriously outpacing mine. Guess fertilizing every time you water is why. Your baby girl is adorable🥰

I gave my onions seedlings haircut about 2 weeks ago but I am now noticing that a lot of the tops are starting to get yellow and are dying back
Your deeper “Cheap pots” vs shallower seed trays moisture retention on same schedule or little more forgiving ?

Show a video of the fertilizer injecting
When you were pulling up those White Welsh perennial onions, I was thinking that they looked almost like leeks.

You got away from your normal 20-20-20 heavy nitrogen for onions? To the lower nitrogen dose of agrothrive? You notice a difference?
Would like more info on injection video
Let me know about your fertilizer gadget
My onion seedlings are falling over. I'm worried I'm doing something wrong.
Cut the tops a little bit, give them a little bit of a haircut that should help them out
