What is the exact amount of oil for this engine after changing the oil filter?
What kind of seat is that? I need something else on this thing. Nice tutorial. I like leaning the bike side to side with the drain plug out to really drain as much old oil out as possible.

I’ve been searching through the Crf450rl owners manual and I can’t find the torque specs. Where were you able to find the torque specs ? It only shows spark arrester and a few other miscellaneous specs. But not the engine oil drain plug for some reason. Thanks!
Is the foam filter oiling necessary for the first service? Has seen dirt yet.

When does the transmission oil need to be replaced on the 450RL?
The transmission and engine oil are no longer separate on the Hondas and haven’t been for a few years so you only have one oil to change

There are no gaskets needed for this job. There is an O-ring on the oil drain plug that can be replaced if damaged and an O-ring on the oil filter cover

Maybe let the dealership do the first one or two but definitely something you want to learn to do yourself
What oil do you put in it?
Do you warm up the new oil before you put it in? No... Then why would you run the engine and put all the oil up in the engine, instead of the oil pan.
Read your service manual before you go thinking you’re some kind of genius👍
@@Maxsmotoshop Sorry man. Just a farm boy, no genius, but if you have an internal leak, coolant in oil, if left to settle, coolant will be at the bottom, but once you mix it again... Well you get where I'm going.
Not sure if farm boy has a Honda but I do and appreciate the video helps knowing how to start, thanks.

It's 37" and I'm 5-10 and flat foot mine. You'd prob be ok once you get used to it. All true dirt bikes are tall.

It takes 1.15 litres and not 1.1 litres in oil, according to the manual. Should be ok either way
You’re kidding right either way the oil measurement in the manual is only a rough amount always check your dipstick or sightglass to ensure the oil is properly filled right????
@@Maxsmotoshop The 1.15 litre is an exact amount which is to the upper level on the dipstick and should always be checked after putting it in, as you said
@@ukadventures5660 no it is definitely a rough amount depending on the technique used to drain the oil a different amount will come out of the bike which means there’s no exact amount to put back in only a rough estimate. That’s why there is a dipstick.
@@Maxsmotoshop Well the 1.15 litre amount from the manufacturer works for me every time, always spot on. The dipstick is there to check the oil level at any time, whether during a service or between services

Are usually use a 3/8 torque wrench. It is 10 foot pounds to 100 foot pounds.
