The greatest British band since Roxy Music and Field Music.
My 82 year old mother took my Every Valley and War Room CDs to her church friends to play, tears all round.
Just read your post right on !
You're bloody well right
When you look at the state of British music these days, it's so brilliant to see a band like Public Service Broadcasting completely break the mould. They effortlessly give us beautiful music.
BRITISH MUSIC IF PERFECTLY FINE, ALWAYS HAS BEEN ALWAYS WILL. WE'RE TO GOOD AT IT....
Mainstream British music is NOT perfectly fine. Have a listen to the autotuned charts and come back to me. No one is going to convince me that we are in as good of position that we were back in the 20th century.
As a Nottingham striking miner this as been a balm for events that happened 84/85..brilliant collection of songs and you and me reduced me to jelly. Hats off to all concerned
J. Willgoose Esq. is a genius. This is an exquisite song from a fantastic album. It’s so raw and emotional and REAL. A flashback to the past. It’s utterly genius. Would love to see this album performed live.
There's something quite emotional in this song, and it really moves me like no other song has done recently. It's like it captures this transition of humanity from analogue to digital, where it feels like we're giving up something up of ourselves as we do that. Tracyanne's voice is like the defiant human spirit trying to stay alive in the face of it all. The breeziness of the song makes it sound really crucial and important, too.
That's how I hear it. I like it a lot.
Personally I can't help but hear her sing "I believe in Progress" when I see the news and the shit that goes on. You have to keep believing in the progress of your life and that of others just to make it through to the next day.
For those of you who are wondering, you are hearing Tracyanne Campbell from Camera Obscura. She is incredible!
I was wondering who it was. She has a nice voice. To my aged ears anyway.
thanks :-)
Richard Burton
No Richard Burton on here. One (of the different male voices )sounds like Marius Goring....
I think this may be the same guy that Starfucker (aka STRFKR) likes to sample. Interesting stuff!
I’ve seen these guys perform 3 times now, believe it or not, but they’re even better in person!
This is quite a motivating song for me. I'm listening it to it as I'm doing research for my masters in electronic engineering.
Weird really, the tone of the song is very bitter when taken in context with the rest of the album.
blewett47 same. Bachelors in Mechanical engineering in 2 years.
Same, research in Tuberculosis!
@@jamiesmith2865 I think this song in some ways represents the dream of the National Coal Board in the 1950s and 60s. Technology and humans, labour and government working in perfect harmony, under enlightened socialist planners. The dream didn't last. Under the pressures of prices and politics, it could not hold.
hell yeah! i'm designing a miniature mass spectrometer!
2:14 makes me smile so much. It's a nod that says "Yep sound, smashed it! Pub?"
Great tune guys, and beautiful guest vocals
Love PBS at the best of times. But the addition of stunning vocals by Camera Obscuras Tracyanne Campbell take my admiration to an even higher height.
You mean higher level Kevin.
Public Service Broadcasting is the millennial generation's Boards of Canada. A band unfathomable and brilliant. PSB alongside Sleaford Mods are two of the best most recent bands coming to the music scene after music died around 2008 or 2010 for me.
I got strong feelings of Westworld with this.
Just love this band 🥰
I keep trying to get folks here in the U.S. into PSB. Love this song. You guys are great.
This is on rotation on 6 Music and I do not have a problem with that.
Where i heard it. Keeps me going at work.
Good Old Six Music! I Dont Get Out Much, And I've Found So Many New Bands And Sounds With There Help.
Can't wait to listen to the whole album!
I love the mentality this song has as opposed to so many people who just go “NEW TECHNOLOGY SCARY AND BAD!!”
Song of the year for me. A contender for video clip of the year too.
Great track, the progression at the end is a true goosebump moment
Makes you just want to go outside and run! I love how all your songs inspire something in people.
Just saw them again in concert. Absolutely love "Every valley"
the more I hear it, the more it grows on me
I love this song. I used to play in on repeat years ago when I was in love with my ex-girlfriend. I know that the song is about scientific progress, not about love. But the vibe of the song is one that is highly optimistic, so optimistic in fact, that you might only feel it during the early stages of a romantic relationship.
Such an addictive song!
Saw this live today and it was absolutely amazing!
Matthew Wilkie I was there too and it was so good wasn't it
I loved it!
My favourite band by far from England the recent years...i bought all albums and one ep ,and looking forward for the new lp.Gongratulations guys!
Simply Fantastic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You are amazing, love your emotional music !! waiting for you back in Athens-Greece for a gig !!
Off to see them in Seattle on Saturday! Saw them in France 2015. mucho excited!!!!!
I always think of the King Coal graphic they have in the backdrop of this song at the live shows. The future of the country they all saw themselves as playing a part in. I wish we had some of that faith and optimism today.
This is an outstanding collaboration, hope they do more together.
Help. I can't stop playing this. How can that be Progress? Love that female voice, so haunting.
Magnificent stuff from our favourite sampling duo
PSB - sounding great indeed
Ok, i think i might have a genuine problem here. I think i'm literally obsessed with this song. I must play it 5 or 6 times a day and it just isn't getting old. The whole feel of this track is just so infectiously joyous and uplifting. J, Willgoose esq is incredible. I honestly haven't been this excited about a band since the last truly great wave of British bands were around at the height of the indie rock movement in the 90's. Hope they come up to Manchester soon, they would rock the roof off of somewhere like The Apollo. I'll be there for sure when they're up here next!
blakefish80 I AM THE EXACT SAME TIME!!! It's almost sad and pensive at the beginning then at the end it's triumphant and uplifting!
The exact same* was so enthusiastic with the comment I typoed 😂
These guys are brilliant!
Chuck it out to us in Edinburgh tonight and it was rather good. Better live!
TheChimp1980 I was there too! It was amazing wasn't it
I was there and it was my first ever concert, definitely a great introduction into live music!
Loving this!
looking forward to the new album !!
Awesome as always! Can't wait to check out the new album guys!
Heard this on radio 6 today,I can't get it out of my head..Great track...
Anyone else getting Lemon Jelly. Love it!
As good as always
Love it.
Wow.. Cannot wait for a bit of live x
PSB... Essentially brilliant, primed and ready for the next decade...
FREAKing AWEsome! Guys that is on par with your last, maybe even more so. Bring it...!
Vocals by Tracyanne Campbell is all i need today
wow...proper singing!! Great to hear new songs guys
Just seen live in Newcastle. Top notch stuff!
After an age since TRFS I was really hoping I'd like new PSB stuff. Liked within 10 seconds of the opening. You never fail to deliver or emote.
Excellent!
This is the song that made me fall I love with you guys. I bought space race album and you guys got me..
Excited, Enthused, Energetic 📡
BBC radio 6 Shaun Keavney breakfast show brought me here. Class tune and brilliant DJ :)
Mighty fine!
Love it!
It was great listening to this at Chris Hadfield Space Shambles at the Albert Hall.
Brilliant ,love it 👏
nice!!!!
Excellent music. We'll be off to Ebbw Vale in June.
Good song. The vocal complement is a necesary and talentous oportunity for the PSB legacy
This song makes me reflect on my work, going from working with equipment as old if not older than my parents to working with the latest kit, indeed men(and of course women) will supervise the machines
I'm here because Channel V ever play this song sometimes around 2017 and I love this song.
Sublime.
"You own much to these machine" so true without machine none of the thing we have now would have been possible or are easy to obtain
I believe! .
Great song. Lovely feel. Easy to identify as PSB but will a slightly different groove. Really like the vocals.
Rather nice
LOVE IT
Makes me want to get my jigsaw puzzles out
nice!!
It's got that Cocteau Twins dreaminess about it...
My biggest musical regret is that I went to see Kanye at Glastonbury instead of PSB because I thought it might be a spectacle/horror show. It was definitely 'something' but it really wasn't worth it.
oh dear...
SnoodyMcFlude They're on tour now! Make sure you see them, Ive already bought my tickets
I probably would have come with you to see Mr West. Only to throw my own faeces of course💩🤦🏾♂️It’s the money and glamour people go to see,, my eyes are on the sides of my head when it comes to music and sounds.
This is ace! Sounds like SOAK doing the chorus vocals.
singing ,wow.
To me, this is the most interesting band today.
I'm more of a Momentum chap tbh, but hey, it''s a great tune!
I Like.
top banana guys! 🤘
Getting excited for Norwich in T - 13 days and counting
Just fucking great!!!
Progress-ive rock is back baby
They are a bunch of middle class dicks
Public Sci-fi Broadcasting
♥I believe in Progress! thanks to all the Doctors, Scientists, Nurses, Journalists and politicians who are fighting for it! ♥
We will beat this dumb virus. We are so much smarter, so much more adaptable. We just have to try!!
Just Fuckin Stunnin!
Great new tune chaps!!
Us human beings are all different and I love the vocals.
WELL DONE!
cool
Kool
Great new track, when you coming to New Zealand again??????
Great stuff! Did the mid-track upgrade include the SpeakAtConcert module otherwise known as the BrixtonPatch?
so do I.
Sounds great, but I imagine it'll be even better when put in context of the album. PSB, for me, have been one of the few modern acts to make really strong albums, where it's almost better than the sum of its parts, if you get my meaning.
Don't believe in religions or gods, but in progress. Yes, I surely do!
Shout out to Brady Haran and HI for introducing me to PSB! :D
Tracyanne Campbell from Camera Obscura..couldn't have picked a better singer..check them out people.
"HORSEPOWER NOT MAN POWER... BRAINS NOT BRAWN"
And in the end, humans (the second born) shall give rise to the machines (the third born) and after a kind of perfect joining it may be a matter of destiny that decides their mutual fate.
THE UNIVERSE AT LARGE
Is the vid shot at Pyestock?
Can't wait for the new album! Excited that they're back down to earth after the cosmic previous effort. I find they're often at their best when they're doing British themed stuff that has a kind of pastoral atmosphere. If you're hungering for something about 37% as good as PSB, check out my track Musicality on my channel. Cheers
Great song just listen to the album reminded me of kraftwerk
ultermite groovers
