Craigellachie 13 was one of the very first bottles of Scotch that I actually purchased early in my Scotch journey. A year or so later,I went back and got another bottle. Now that my pallette has evolved, it has become so much more complex. I too, really like this one. Great review Jon, keep them coming.
Happy weekend. I’ve been enjoying my Craig13 quite a bit, found it at a great price at the New Hampshire liquor outlet ($49.99 USD) driving home from Maine to CT!
A suggested micro distiller in Ottawa to try. North of 7 whiskey (4 grain). Just picked up a bottle, 6 years old. They make a 53 gallon cask a month. Very good in my opinion. Highly recommend
Great run-through Jon. I've had a bottle of the Aberfeldy 12, which I enjoyed. Only had a sample of the Aultmore, but it really came alive on the second sip. Have yet to try the other. Cheers and have a great weekend.
I just opened my first bottle of Craigellachie 13, and it's fantastic. One of the best value bottles I've run across in my whisk[e]y journey. Thanks for the nudge to finally try it. Cheers!
I love the Craigallichie 13...I found one gathering dust a few weeks ago for $45.90usd....in an Asian market small whisky section...Going back for the last bottle tomorrow..
Great comparison . Seems I missed this video in November ! My favourite is the Foggie Moss. However, I advise to put a few drops of water in it. That really makes a difference.
These are all nice whiskys, though I do prefer the Aberfeldy 16 over the 12. Just recently opened the Aultmore. I'm letting it sit a while before going back to it. I think it will become more interesting as time goes on. Thoroughly enjoy the Craigellachie too, it's a definite favourite. Glad it seems to be regularly available! I would dearly like to try an older version at some point, chance given. I know you don't have The Deveron in this lineup. To my palate, even at 40%, it's a lovely whisky with a great mouth feel, not sure how the MacDuff Distillery manages that with the lower ABV. I seem to reach for it often! Cheers! To the up and coming weekend, Jon! 🥃🥃 Marian 🇨🇦
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Considering that, I may need to spring for the Deveron. However the Aberfeldy, and Aultmore are $55 or lower. For some reason the Deveron is often $70 range. I think I just saw it dip to $66, so I may need to bring it home. Based on your thoughs. I really appreciate a good coating whisky. Cheers!
@@WhiskyNeighbour Deveron is $66 here, same with the Aberfeldy 12. Unfortunately, we don't really get sales of any note in Ontario. I'd like to see it a bit lower in price too! Not complaining though. Craigellachie and Aultmore both weigh in at $80, we have to pay for that higher ABV. If you do try the Deveron it will be interesting to hear your thoughts, as always!
While I like Craigellachie 13 a lot, I was disappointed by the Aultmore 12, which could have been a lot more, and the Aberfeldy 12 was also somewhat lacking to me... Give me Glen Garioch any day :)
After 30 plus years of sipping whiskies the past few years have worn me out. Allocated standards, over priced special releases no ordinary person can find or afford is frustrating. Wrestling with the politics of chill filtration and proof. These current whiskies are for the most part distilled too fast and rested in mass produced or tired casks. Other than a couple single malts I am officially done. I started drinking wine and authentic Tequilas again. Im actually having fun again. Jon you have the only whiskey channel I even enjoy anymore and I will continue to tune in.
Honored that sharing a dram with me is still enjoyable! I have not gotten in to Tequilas myself, but I have a friend that pours me a drink every now and then, I am always surprised how I enjoy them! I hope you can enjoy the weekend!

Thanks! Fun to shoot, and certainly love Craigellachie. Cheers!
Nice review! You are the first one that I saw who made a review saying something good from Aberfeldy 12. I'll certainly put it in my list. Thanks!
Cool. If you try it please let me know what you think.
Haven't had the Aultmore but have a huge soft spot for that Craigellachie. Cheers as always Jon.
Thanks for dropping in. Craigellachie is a solid dram! Enjoy the week my friend!
Nice comparison Jon. Had to look back at my notes to see that I've had all but the Aultmore. Now I'll be on the hunt again for these. Thanks 😊
All really good for me actually. Cheers!
Haven't tried the Aberfeldy, but that Aultmore is underrated... and the Craigellachie lives up to its (at least among us nerds) hype. Cheers Jon!
Glad you enjoy the Aultmore and totally agree, the Craigellachie is hard to beat!

Glad you enjoy it too. A great dram, and cool you could pick it up for a good price. Cheers!
I was enjoying a glass of Royal Brackla 12 when I stumbled upon your video!
A great activity to be enjoying in the evening!

Thanks Al. Chase down a dram of Craigellachie my friend. I think you would like it. A dirty, naughty whisky ;)
@@WhiskyNeighbour you know you got me right there😁
Great review WN always great reviews
Thanks!
Feldy12 just went up to 66$ in Ontario, AUlt12 and Craig12 have been 80$ . . . Craig 12 is the best buy . Thx for the great vid. !
You are most welcome!
Love the Craigallachie 13. Nice review. Cheers
Thanks!

A great deal, on a Scotch with some character!
Great comparison . Seems I missed this video in November ! My favourite is the Foggie Moss. However, I advise to put a few drops of water in it. That really makes a difference.
Good tip. I want to revisit the Foggie Moss, but it needs to rest a bit. Take care!
I have Aultmore 12 and it is really rough stuff, but interesting part is, that it is disappearing faster than any other scotch on my shelf.
Very interesting indeed! There are flavors I certainly enjoy in there. Cheers!
Very nice these are three that I’ve been curious about trying. I’ll definitely consider the Craigellachie 👍. Cheers 🥃
Definately worth trying!

I like Aberfeldy, haven't tried the other two yet.
The others are certainly more challenging. Still, good value, and interesting expressions!

Glen Garioch is fantastic, but Aberfeldy is sweet and easy to enjoy for me!
