This album was masterpiece drumming, guitar solos they made their longest album, they changed style again as always and it worked Un fuckin believeble !!!!!!!!!!!!!
I mean, I don't like a lot of their songs, but if a band has a unique style to every album and I like at least 1 song from each, well, I can't exactly complain :P
They're by far the greatest band ever. Most bands faze out. Can't put a decent album out after 3rd or 4th album. A7X is like a fine wine, they get better with age. They can drop heartfelt songs of loss like Victim, So Far Away... then hit you in the jaw with bad ass precision like Planets, This Means War. Then great rock that makes you think The Stage, Buried Alive. They're by leaps and bounds the greatest group
To be honest, I think the drumming would’ve been the same if he was alive, especially on the Hail to the King album. M.Shads and Syn were in charge of just about everything on that album, and actually would tracked the drums themselves if Arin didn’t cooperate. I don’t know whether to assume they were in charge with this album too, but it might’ve been the case.
no matter what others say A7X is classic and doesn't matter if they changed it matter that they still have the strength to make a awesome album again. but it would never be the Same without the Rev..
I agree… actually the lyrics from the end of the solo all the way until the line you bring up… yeah that whole section of this song really challenges me not to cry. I’ve never heard a better mix of glorious guitar over such impactful vocals over so real lyrics. And if I even attempt to sing along I’m guaranteeing some tears. Just too good
That part just makes me cry because of how hopeless, ignorant and sad our society is. We are controlled and there is nothing we can do about it. We could fight, but sadly we won't, or at we won't have enough people to fight. It's a sad reality
I just go to the part with the ad after the main solo when the song gets soft watch it than just start the song over and no ad in the middle. Or sometimes I don't get the ad
What an amazing masterpiece! I can listen to this song on repeat constantly. Tell me a lie in a beautiful way, I believe in answers just not today..... What a line
I love this song! I never really cared for this group much but because its October I fell into the spirit to give a damn about my spooky side and embraced it for the season. I love how A7X has a storyteller POV or at least a story to tell. As if a demonic muse to criticize mans existence 👍😄
This is a very innovative song. Their dive into progressive metal was excellent, for sure. The intro riff was terrific. Syn’s solo was fire, as always. The drumming was incredible. Brooks did a perfect job. Great song for the lead single of the album with the same name. I want to know what that instrument used at the end was. My dad said it was a guitar, but I thought it sounded like a harp.
While this song isn't my personal favorite from this artist, its lyrics are undeniably profound and thought-provoking, making it a treasure trove for those with a philosophical inclination. The song's message can be interpreted through the lens of non-dualism or the idea of a divine self, which is essentially a call to "WAKE UP!" From the start these lyrics go hard. He put so much into the first few lines… The opening lines, "So I arrived, naked and cold," symbolize the transition from a lifeless state(“catacomb”) to the potential of life itself. The lyrics suggest that we are never truly alone, as our inherent divinity connects us (so we don’t need counsel”). Even the reference to a lawyer, hints at the ethical and legal responsibilities we bear in the human experience. The song then delves into the search for one's heart (transcendentalism) symbolizing the quest to connect with the divine within, and the process of awakening to the illusory nature of human existence. The singer acknowledges the allure of participating in the human experience, all the while recognizing our divine essence. "The sheep can eat" underscores the coexistence of our divine nature with the everyday "game" of life, where everyone, including the singer and the audience, is both a participant and an observer. The realization that time has passed quickly highlights the metaphorical game of "hide and seek" the singer has been playing with their own divinity. The mention of a "beautiful lie" alludes to the singer's awareness of deeper truths, which they momentarily reject while immersed in the game. "Birth of sin" symbolizes a fleeting awakening, depicted as a "snake-rattling of the mind," which, with the passage of time, leads to a more profound and lasting awakening-a metaphorical "blow to the head." In essence, the singer's message is crystal clear: "Wake up before it's too late." He critiques the futility of war and competition ("walking apes killing walking apes") within the context of a game where keeping score is ultimately meaningless. The lyrics emphasize that life is a simulation, an illusion, and a game, where both the audience and the singer are participants on the same stage. So, the resounding call remains: "Wake up!" I HOPE YOU WAKE UP!!
You got me fucked up. I listened to this high af for the first time. My god, thise lyrics, like... Damm my man. "Leave it to man to levitate itself to ideolise" or something like that. Like fuck man. Thats so fucking true. Jesus christ, fuck.
So I arrived, naked and cold A welcomed change from the abeyance of a ghost town catacomb No need for counsel I appreciate the time, I'm not alone (Why don't you get my lawyer on the phone) There were days these child eyes Would overlook the ugliness and fantasize I found my heart for the first time and I awakened in me I left myself to navigate, and oh I felt control (It seems these sheep have quite an appetite) Who is the crowd that peers through the cage As we perform here upon the stage? As the boy became a man In came a calm sophistication I can hardly understand So lost in ego, didn't notice when the time had slipped away (Yeah, everybody's got a sob story) Jesus Christ, was born to die Leave it to man to levitate his own to idolize We're simply sociopaths with no communication, baby I see your angle but we differ from our points of view (So tell me, what's your cross to bear?) Who is the crowd that peers through the cage As we perform here upon the stage? Tell me a lie in a beautiful way I believe in answers just not today Hope my wheels don't abandon me now Seeing that I'm out here alone I'm running out of fight And the wind speaks a comforting voice Guiding me to her arms Mother, I'm alright It took the birth of sin to snake-rattle the mind Before a blow to the head by the gavel of time To wake up Won't you wake up? When did the walking apes decide that nuclear war Was the only solution for them keeping the score? Just wake up Can't you wake up? Who is the crowd that peers through the cage As we perform here upon the stage? Tell me a lie in a beautiful way I believe in answers just not today

5:26. That's a verse that a whole country need to listen n follow. So much to achieve but so little longer there is left
Nice work putting on the lyrics for the people who want to sing along.
Imagine how different this song/album would be if REV was still around.... its both a blessing and a curse

Probably the same with some lyrics sang by the rev

I dont know why, but that Nuclear war line sticks too me for some reason. Long live M.shadows and his band. P.S R.I.P Jimmy Sullivan.
