This is a well presented video. Though I will suggest some of the information given isn’t best in the context of a small fitted bathroom.
In a room of that size a ‘D shaped bath’ is not suitable, it is not something I would never suggest, as the water and dirt ect will fall down either end and will become very difficult to clean. It will not be suitable for a use of a shower above a ‘D shaped bath’ as it is difficult at best to keep the shower water inside the bath area. This will become a big issue if the room is not large enough to accommodate a separate shower enclosure.
I would suggest a ‘D shaped bath’ isn’t a form of a space saving freestanding bath in any regard. It has great uses but not in a normal small family bathroom. In a larger room as a focal point it is ideal. A double ended straight bath offers the same but will keep the area water tight.
Fitting taps into a wall above a bath as shown in this video hasn’t saved any space, the tap still over hangs the bath, the bath is the same size. What it has done is created a open edge above the bath. This is at the cost of having to bury a tap cartridge in a wall, this may result with the wall having to be built out to accommodate the tap making the room smaller……
If you only have one bathroom in your home, and are looking for easier maintained bathroom, try to get a bath to touch three walls as this will keep the bathroom water tight and fit taps at the end of the bath. That is a straight single ended bath.
The reason for this is if the taps fail over time, they will be easily changed.
If you are fitting a double ended bath, look at fitting the taps on the bath with a quick release tap kit, again if the taps fail over time you can easily change them.
Soak have a great selection of 170cm straight baths in double ended or single.
These are only my opinions, background bathroom designed and a client of Soak.
