Most Knuckles fans want the return the "Tough Guy" from SA2, the "Big Brother" from Heroes, even the "Straight Man" from Sonic X; But I think his contemplative and introspective personality in Adventure 1 is also a great take that should be brought back.
O olá caro brasileiro.
Yup, but unfortunately now he is characterized just as stupid, which is horrible
I want knuckles from sonic movie 2 but not as dumb, but I wouldn't mind if he was as dumb
@@auctiongurl I don't think he was very dumb, naïve definitely
Hell no, those Adventure and Heroes traits sucks just like the games lmao
15:59 I agree completely. It's not about speed, it's about *momentum* - getting good at both the mechanics and the level design so you can build up - and *keep* - your speed.
Gamma’s story and theme still gives me the feels to this day. Without his story SA1,to me, wouldn’t have that much emotional Power to it.
"Why Was Sonic Adventure So AWESOME?!"
Because it's a good fucking game that's why :)
I played adventure for the first time last year so I'm not clouded with nostalgia when I say it did age well. It's the most fun I've had playing a game in years.
Hmm...very strange. Some people seem to like Adventure trying it out the first time while others might not.
I think there's something going on in our human nature where Sonic games, or games in general, might appeal to a certain audience compared to another.
@@thaddeuswilliammcchucklebe47 For me, I didn't play the Adventure games until I was a teenager in the 2010's, so I didn't have a whole lot of nostalgia for them. I actually started with the Classic games believe it or not around 2003, when I was a kid. I still enjoy aspects of the Adventure games, but I don't hold them in high regard either. I like Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles in SA1, and the Sonic and Shadow levels in SA2, but the rest of the gameplay styles are just kind of meh for me.
I didnt play the game but I watched a full gameplay of it and I gotta say it was very good. I was so wrong about Sonic Adventure the one on the dreamcast I was watching. the cutscene were a little poorly made but overall it was amazing just like the original games I played at the age of 13 like I said never played it just watched the full gameplay
Adventure 1 is amazing and did so many good things for the series
I agree
i always see you in his server lol
@@YNSShifty yea
@SGMD 8889 I mean to be fair you during a Sonic only play-through will unlock Gamma before Big (I believe only Tails can unlock Big before Gamma)
Then sonic 06 came in and laughed in the face of sonic adventure 1 and 2
So THIS was the video essay. SA1 is a great game that represents sonic in at his purest 3d momentum based physics with a great story to boot.
I just wish the cutscenes were decent
@@theminecraft2516 well..the CGI ones are still neat even for a 23 yo game. as for in-game cutscenes, it was done the best they could during that time [especially as all meshes had to be moved one by one due to limitations)
I honestly really love Sonic Adventure I have great memories with this game and I think it’s unfair how people judge this game for aging poorly but not other games around the same time. Great video!
It probably wouldn't be judged like that if it wasn't a Sonic game. If it was any other franchise, it wouldn't be judged as harshly.n
@@SuperSonicMaster17 its sad how true that is
i love the determination and love for this blue hedgehog in that game
unlike forces
Presumably how many people died when perfect chaos appeared
"Unique style of gameplay that makes everyone's experience different"
It's official! Every copy of Sonic Adventure is personalized!
"People who like Sonic adventure are just nostalgia blind"
People who just bought the game and like it: Are we a joke to you
Me who bought the port on steam and liked it. Mate, are y’all on crack?
Also people who played it long ago and still play it still to this day.
People who use the nostalgia blind fanboy argument are ignorant delusional id*ots.
Even as someone who doesn't like Adventure as the rest of the Sonic fanbase, that line is just dumb because with every product there will always be people who enjoy it.
Ruby of Blue would love this video.
His Sonic Adventure Remake video is how I want a remake of this game to be like.
I still love Sonic Adventure. Gameplay’s aged pretty darn well, even if some other aspects have not.
Also, as for the Knuckles criticisms, I have a couple. One, the digging does not always work properly. Mapping it to A and B was bizarre, and it works way better in SA2. Also, Sky Deck is just not fun. The gravity switching makes it hard to control. Other than that, no real complaints.
Well the Radar was better in Adventure 1
@SGMD 8889 I mean assuming we change nothing else about Cream couldn't adventures story have happened as it did with Cream simply because she speaks Chao and so would she and Cheese figure Chaos Backstory out way in advance meaning any many of Tikals cryptic revelations would have just been in detail been explained by Cream and things like having Sonic know much earlier in the story that Chaos is just a rage filled overgrown chao could have changed a lot.
Never mind that Cream's bound with Chao would totally put Chaos assessment into perspective as she and cheese could properly talk him down especially given that the in universe reason for the Station Square Chao garden is to be a protective habitat for Chao showing that the dominate species did a 180 from Tikals time.
I hate dx and it's glitched so I play on dreamcast
@@Ryderboycolor9 No it wasn't.
@@DanielFahimi ?
Almost 50 minute video, yes I needed this
i watched the whole thing no skips
The Coolness is in the kickass guitars and melodies
The Wildness is in the many different emotions and settings the songs give a feel of
The Groovyness is in the ever present funky basslines
Adventure has what i believe is the perfect formula for a Sonic OST down: Be Cool, Be Wild, Be Groovy.
This comment made my day lol 😌
this was my first sonic game and it's still my favorite :) i love tails' and amy's development in the story so much... it sucks that (especially in tails' case) they threw all their development out the window for the recent games
It's because those characters suck lmao
Adventure and Adventure 2 are definitely my favorite games in the series.
Well atleast in speed highway when you get on the roof at the beginning of the is a 1 up which means it was clearly intended or they'd be no 1 up
Finally got around to watching this entire video. Straight facts bro, I agree with pretty much everything you said here. Especially how even though the dialogue is executed kind of weird, the interactions between the characters actually let you CARE for them and make you actually want to see what’s gonna happen next. Amazing video as always bro! 👌
It’s nice to see that I wasn’t the only kid whose first ever video game was Sonic Adventure. It absolutely holds a special place in my heart to this day.
Wait a minute this isn't The Act Man.
There's one thing you're forgetting about Sonic's appearance, he's much more slimmer specifically the model you showed but I do see he's still pretty chubby in the model you use.
The graphics are better than Sword and Shield
And the characters has a lot more expression.
Be cool, be wild and be groovy is probably the best piece of video game soundtrack ever created IN MY OPINION!
YOUR OPINION RULES! i really liked the adventure series! I wish they made sonic adventure 3 tho.
It's Sonic 06
@@saiqa7130 A GOOD Sonic Adventure 3!
I always hated that everyone said that this game aged poorly but they don't give any Shit to super Mario 64 and legend of Zelda.
@Welp I thing you will have to explain this a bit more in detail.
Mario 64 is just as buggy as SA1 with some of its worst bugs beating anything in adventure, many late game level feeling far less thoughtfully put together than early game ones and star missions start to repeat them self (beating Bullies, going to the end of the level a second time but this time with a slight twist) its presentation is even more dated (the story and context(and some times Stars) giving Toads first spawn in moments before you would touch them) and Collision detection could also often be a pain so at least for Mario 64 would you really have to give a good reason why its supposedly aged better even just Gameplay wise than Sonic Adventure.
I have less to say about OOT as its level design did stand the test of time far better most of its issues come down to many technical problems that make otherwise easy task liking jumping over a fence with Epona a pain to name just one example.
I find that Super Mario 64 is more consistent in that it only focuses on one gameplay style, and it does that one gameplay style really well. Of course it has its own problems, like the camera and some courses, but I still like it. For Sonic Adventure 1, I can only say that I like about half of the game, that being Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles, the rest I don't like or couldn't care for. Again, I usually prefer when games focus on one gameplay style than try to fit in a dozen different ideas that don't mesh well.
Adventure is amazing collison could be better but i still love adventure
It you’ve only played DX and ever want to play through it again, give the Dreamcast version a try! Its collision detection is bafflingly better, you have to work a lot harder to get out of bounds in it.
Friendly reminder that the Japanese cutscenes are a LOT better than the english ones as the script makes a lot more sense and the voice acting is arguably less cheesy
I mean there weren't any bigger script changes beside Eggman being called Robotnik in SA1 its properly one of the best translated scripts in the series to be honest.
The only thing that is a lot better is the lip synchronicity
@@rynobehnke8289 Yeah, and there's nothing really wrong with the dialogue, it's just that the direction they gave to the voice actors was off and not very clear, which is why some lines sound cringe nowadays.
I really wish that the whole Slippy controls and weird graphics didn’t instantly mean bad game. This game has a whole lot of charm and it shouldn’t be ignored. It’s a product of it’s time.
Amazing game. Definitely one of the most fun sonic games.
For anyone looking for more difficulty regarding Tails' gameplay, check out the Better Miles mod for SA2. It ports Tails' gameplay from SA1 to SA2 with certain level tweaks to make his stages playable. The result is actually quite enjoyable. The linear, controlled levels of SA2 allow the level to have an increased difficulty by forcing the player along certain paths (though there are still many ways one can exploit Tail's flight). Because of this, I think if Sonic Team were to dedicate levels to Tails in future Sonic games; with levels that transition between open areas, where one can exploit Tails' flight to the fullest potential, and linear segments, where the player's skill as Tails can be truly tested, would solve the issue of Tail's stages being too easy and short while still allowing the player to develop their own unique ways of traversing each stage.
@360 Overdrive Totally agree. And I actually love the idea of Tails using a mech in his gameplay because it fits his character. He's supposed to be a genius and engineering different vehicles has already been established as one of his abilities. It makes perfect sense for him to construct a mech that allows him to destroy Eggman's robots more effectively, and beyond that the mech gameplay is also really good. My only complaint is that - in my opinion - the best mech levels are given to Eggman, and because of that I often don't replay Tails' levels in SA2 unless I'm playing through the story. I wouldn't say their bad levels, but the quality of Eggman's stages strongly overshadows Tails'. To expand upon my idea that Tails gameplay from SA1 could be improved by featuring levels with open and closed level design, Taild gameplay could also benefit from having him swap mid-stage or per-stage between mech-gameplay and SA1-Tails-gameplay. I think ultimately what held Tails back in SA1 and SA2 was not his gameplay, but instead the levels he was given. I'd say Speed Highway, and Eternal Engine are exceptions, but otherwise the levels Tails are given don't fully utilize his gameplay. Though, Windy Valley is still a great stage for Tails to me because it teaches the player just how much they can exploit his flight. Prison Lane is also a good tutorial level for Tails' mech gameplay because it forces you to destroy drones in order to progress, which forcefully introduces the player to how they can lock on to enemies in order to rack up points. However, while they are great tutorials, and do all a tutorial should, they don't fully utilize his gameplay. I won't go on about the other stages because none of Tails' other stages were particularly great to me, but they're all fine enough for a side character. However, at this point Tails' deserves better, and it's especially disgraceful given how he's been portrayed in later games (as you've already pointed out).
On a side note: I actually like the gameplay in Sonic Heroes. I don't think it works for a full fledged game, but I wouldn't mind it returning for a couple stages in future games.
Hey great video! It definately helped me see the game in a new light. When I played Sonic Adventure for the first time, I was young, impatient and was used to a higher quality standard in Sonic games after having played Unleashed (Ps2) and Heroes (I only played through Team Rose's story which is significantly easier than team dark and team sonic, therefore I avoided the frustrations that most people have with it).
I decided one day to play Sonic Adventure DX, and played through the first boss, which was fun, laughed at the janky cutscenes and the monitor saying "if the camera gets stuck, just be patient, it does that sometimes". The first level was fun, but I remember struggling with the collision, cause it felt like if I went too fast, I might break something. After the level, I was thrown into the hub city and by messing around with the controls, I found that I could get some insane air, so I began messing around and looking for ways to glitch out of the map.
Unfortunately this is where my fun with the game ended, I got lost trying to find my way to the next level after taking the train, then when I finally found the boss fight area I was really underwhelmed by it because of the time it took me to find it. After the fight, I had to find my way to the next area through the large hub area again. As I was young and had no patience, I just got bored and gave up and skipped to Sonic Adventure 2, which overall I thought was good, but not great. The cutscenes were a massive improvement and the opening level of Sonic and Shadow are amazing, but I felt that the levels go downhill slowly from there.
All these years I assumed that by playing Adventure 2, I was experiencing the best that the Adventure series had to offer, thus my comment on your other video. It really doesn't help that the GameGrumps played it and pretty much bashed the whole thing, I think that may have also soured my perception of the game. After hearing the points you made here, however, I'm starting to think I might be wrong about everything and should probably give it another try.
In the end though, I think I do agree with you about what the next Sonic game should be like. As this game is decades old at this point, I think almost all of my issues with the series would be solved if we were to get a remaster of this game or a new Adventure game. I think it would be great for myself and newcomers to experience the game the same way people felt while playing it for the first time back in the day.
Thanks again for the video and for changing my perspective and congrats on the 6k subs!
Thanks man! I can't promise you that this game will be good for you. But next time you play it, try experimenting with the spin dash and maybe even doing some pretty cool skips within the level.
Someone said SA1 was a bad game but watching this made me happier.
I have just started playing sonic adventure and I just finished speed highway. The game is actually good.
" i dont expect hub worlds to come back "
Sonic frontiers 1 year later: what did you say?
I swear I thought this was an Act Man video because of the title alone
I’ve come to make an announcement
Sonic Adventure is my third favorite Sonic game next to SA2, and S3&K and favorite video games in general even if it’s flawed for 20 years as I loved the gameplay, story, presentation, chao garden, music, and etc, it still holds me to my heart even if its flawed or hasn’t aged well, i still love this game.
I would love to see a remake of Sonic Advenutre done right someday as a sonic dreamcast/adventure fan.
Amazing vídeo Matt, thanks for all your hard work, i agree alot
Stay well and good luck in your personal life
Thanks, I appreciate it a lot
Because one of the few good releases on the franchise
Lmao I LOVE the cutscenes! Hope if they remake it someday they keep the over the top animations or at least give it to us as an option :D
Do aventure 2
Also great video
Bro, just wanted to say you’re content and quality is amazing. So happy you reached the 5K mark and look forward to this channel growing more and more. Congrats man. And also great vid,
SA1 was my first game also and I still love it.
Bruh i just bought this game like 2 weeks ago in steam and i don´t think that the game aged poorly that bad as some people says , i think it does what is meant to do, be fun to play even more than 20 years later
This was a really good video! I appreciate the work, I'm glad this popped up on my home page (:
It's weird to come back to this video a year later and remember that you still had under ten thousand subs at the time. I probably wouldn't have found you without this video. But I'm still waiting for the Sonic Forces review to be redone.
Whats really good about the redesigns of the characters is that it shows the passage of time between the Classic and the Adventure games , like these people have changed alot since the last time we saw them .
Oh hey another dude named matt. Anyways honestly sa1 is my favorite game. It has so much to love and if I tried to explain my reasons Id be here for hours.
I blame ign man they make sonic look bad or something
True, they definitely contribute
IGN is pathetic and worthless
Not surprised the Adventure are still good to this day.
I feel like tails was tossed into a mech because it was easier to do that than design levels around him and sonic as they did in Adventure. I never liked tails in a mech, eggman and gamma however was really cool.
Tails was most likely added to Sonic Adventure 2 at the last minute to fill the game up with extra space. Which is why he is a Dr. Eggman clone.
I have almost all Missions except Mission 53 (the one with Sonic Skatebording in snow) and 54 (the one with Tails collecting every Flag in the snow level) they are just hell
Mission 53 Ahaha. I dit it twice in my life and right after completing it, Sonic always went through the map and died because the game didn't expect I could be that "fast and high", and it finished into a void. LMAO
Sonic Adventure is in my top 3 favorite Sonic games
Another Adventure video essay, just what I needed
Yes 40 min video. Let's go matt
Thanks for setting the record straight on DX and that one pre-whale-loop collision emerald coast... I grew up playing the DC version and always ree inside when people condemn the game using glitches the original version never had!
all im gonna say is if theres an item box there, sonic team knew you could get there and they intended for you to be able to get there
Matt with the long video? 😳
Yes its epic
Amazing video and really good explanation on this.
This is a great review because it's by far my favorite and my first Sonic game I ever played I have played it alot as a kid and I still played today and I love this game to death
They need to make a conjoined remaster of Adventure 1 & 2. It will give them a chance to improve upon some of the aspects of the games, such as having Adventure 1’s mechanics alongside Adventure 2’s power ups (and potentially some new ones). It would also be cool to remaster the cutscenes and have the current cast redo all the scenes.
Exactly! And as a slight hot take, I actually wouldn't mind the current cast reading the lines again.
well since you asked for it lol, I think my criticism for Knuckles' gameplay is not that it's too slow, but that there's no clear sense of direction and it feels more like a chore to me personally. like if the radar starts beeping, you head in a direction to find out the signal is lost. you head in another direction, you lose the signal again. I don't think any amount of speed could rectify the issue of "being lucky" and finding it right away :L
17:28 I noticed that secret Life there, so, getting there actually ISN'T a glitch, but more of an easter egg or something. So, at least that part in particular really IS how the creators wanted it.
BECAUSE IT IS!
Probably my new favourite video on your channel! My favourite Sonic game by far, and the points you made were fair and very well thought out. Also like the fact that it's a longer video. 👌
If Knuckles gameplay was the same in adventure 2 with new stages this would be my fav part in the game
19:57 He really just forgot about Egg Fleet huh
jokes aside this was a great video, I can practically smell the effort here lmfao
keep it up!
I list everything i like with this game the story is amazing and fun i love the characters all the characters are playable Tails in it and Amy too and Knuckles Gamma and Big... but all in all its a great sonic game that i will never forget and it had one of the best one off characters ever Chaos and i really like Tails theme in it and Knuckles and Amy i don't like open your heart that much but its still good well i like Sonic adventure 2 more this is an amazing game all in all and i hope adventure 3 happends one day and the Humens the Humens are amazing in it and the hub worlds and the voice acting and the look of the characters well i like DX more the Og adventure is still good and Eggmans voice and the story is amazing i could go on and on about how much i love adventure 1 its an amazing good sonic game :) 💙
Finally I knew I wasn't the only one who saw the greatness of Sonic Adventure's story, I love Froggy and Birdie's stories so much and I find them really charming
I made a review on it on my channel so I'd be happy if you looked at it, me and you are in agreement about a lot of things
I love that with each characters story, it becomes less and less about the main story. tails follows sonic a lot but eventually gets separated from him and more unique events happen. knuckles has some significance in the main plot like how he caused sonic to lose 2 chaos emeralds, but its mostly about his personal troubles. and finally amy, big, and gamma have little to no significance in the main plot and are more focused on live lessons and subplots.
17:53 my first time I played Sonic adventure was in 2018 on my dreamcast and it aged really great when it comes to the gameplay. So the nostalgia blind argument is just BS
I agree 1000%
and just to add to your thoughts... what happened to Sonic powerups in modern games? The electric shield, the bubble shield? And what happened to the capsules (used to be tv monitors) that held rings and extra lives? And What happened to getting 100 rings to earn an extra life?
I seriously miss the Yuji Naka era of Sonic games!
Oh man Sonic Adventure, It was Christmas 1999 I was 6 years old and I wanted Sonic Adventure 1 with the Sega Dreamcast, I got it and I enjoyed the game. I had the Action Figures from Resaurus and *cough Toy Island cough* and sadly broke them because I was a little kid, I remember that one of My Friends would come over and played Sonic Adventure, As a grown adult I only go back to SA1 on PC and just play though Sonic, Tails and Knuckles' levels, didn't care for Amy's gameplay, Gamma's was alright and Big Sucks. Now I think Sonic Adventure 1 is better than Sonic Adventure 2 and Sonic Heroes (if we're going by Dreamcast era) because it was a great way to start Sonic's 3D career after Sega struggled with Sega Saturn.
Yes Sonic Adventure 1 has not aged good but it still had charm and is a very worth follow up to the Holy Grail of Sonic games Sonic 3 and Knuckles and I agree with SomecallmeJohnny's views on Sonic Adventure 1. Now if We got a remake of this game the charm of this game will be better.
Road to 10K
I can agree that this game has aged well, when it comes to gameplay, but not with the cutscenes. I have the PC version with the mods on to make the game overall better, but if that's exactly how the game was from the dreamcast, then it's super great, like the controls and the graphics. The story is also great, and yes it has these laughable cutscenes, but this isn't a game from our present time. In around 2012, this game and SA2 got an undeserved hate, thanks to a few who doesn't quite understand this game (or the fact that they played the Port-port-Port version). I, who doesn't have nostalgia with Adventure games, had great time playing them.
@Radioactive - I thought he praised the game. I remembered it was Adventure 2 that he disliked. But it wasn't just that, but plenty of others. Game Grumps for example, made it look like a terrible game, and then many jumped on board.
Mentions mods to fix the weird stuff that happened in the DX port
Me: *Sweats in Gamecube version*
Me: sweats in PS3 version
I mean you at least can experience a Tiny Chao Garden experience and to unlock Gamegear games can't even say that about the HDDX Console version owners.
@@rynobehnke8289 To be honest, that's actually the main reason I got the GameCube version; as well as the fact it was only version I could get at the time.
Miles "Tails" Prower was never meant to be in Sonic Adventure 2. However, due to the backlash from fans, they decided to copy over eggman's style & split the game between a hero story & dark story.
We can’t say no to open your heart. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh aaaalllllright!!!!
I know your supposed to finish Sonic levels ASAP, but playing in the stages was so fun. I swear I’d take forever to finish each stage because I wasn’t in a rush to leave.
Now...👀 In recent games I don’t get much satisfaction from the stages. I just have this “Let’s get this over with” vibe.
That's what I like about the Classic Sonic games the most! You can spend as much time as you wanted (barring the time limit of course) and still find loads of secrets and surprises.
So I'm only 13 minutes in and you just got to SONIC. This video is Packed Full of Content.
11:51 Sonic Adventure was Doom Eternal before Doom Eternal
*It Doesn't Matter* always helps when I need to stir up lost motivation.
Chaos only using the negative energy and leaving the emeralds grey explains why after sonic became the werehog the emeralds were also left grey
I always liked sa1 over sa2 and now I know why
Bro Its been 20 years and you just pointed it out
The pfp makes it so much better XD
I may not be a fan of Sonic Adventure 1 but I know it’s a masterpiece no matter how it aged
If you ask me whats my one of my favorite sonic games is Sonic Adventure 2 I have more but there’s too many to list
22:22 I love the Adventure 2 mechs
44:08 I can agree with you I have a lot of games I like to play but some are never the same again.
This game needs a remake
If they decide to remake this game Emi Jones could bring back Ryan Drummond to voice Sonic again for Sega briefly and refine his voice lines to be less cheesy/cringey, and she could voice Tails herself🤷🏼♂️😱
I disagree with SA1 being the BEST Sonic has ever controlled, but it is definitely up there. And yeah, people saying SA1 aged poorly but Mario 64 aged well is just laughable. Speaking as somebody who never played M64 as a kid, trying to get into it now-a-days was just horrible. I just didn't enjoy the tank controls or the poor camera movement at all. I played SA1 as a kid but was terrible at it, playing it as an adult I was still bad but it didn't like it would be a pain to improve and get good enough to go for 130 Emblems, which I eventually got :) Also, the Light Dash is slow to charge, but I really like how it's able to along a trail of ring even if you have a Thunder Shield or if some rings have already been picked up. Ofc Shadow fixed that problem anyway with ghost rings.
For Big I feel they should have made his levels normal platformers, but instead of a goal at the end, you have a small body of water that you cast your lure into. When Froggy bites down, the level ends. They could've had a fishing minigame outside of that, but for his main levels, they should've been platformers.
Hot take? I've yet to see anyone who would think the mech stages in Adventure 2 are better than Tails in Adventure 1. Tails' gameplay in Adventure 1 is amazing and it's as good as Sonic's if not even better because there's so much more you can do.
Tails' gameplay in Adventure 2 had the biggest downgrade I've ever seen from a game to another.
I prefer tails stages in sa2 over tails stages in sa1
I adore sonic adventure its perfect in my opinion colors may have been my first sonic game but it was adventure that truly introduced me to sonic and made me love sonic so much
If I play Adventure 1 more it could take Adventure 2 place as my favorite Sonic game cause personally I find it less frustrating with it's difficulty it's a perfect balance between casual and challenging and it has everything that Adventure 2 had minus the multiplayer and superior Chao Garden so yeah Adventure 1 has the chance to be my favorite Sonic game and my personal opinion to be the best Sonic game ever made.
This game is a gem!💎
Kinda glad that this game can be able to mod in different ways
Man, this game would be so amazing if they remastered the game. Don’t change anything, just give it a glorious coat of new paint like how the N.Sane trilogy treated Crash
There is no perfect human beings. But Its not a bad thing.
Xpool when the
Not even Chaos Control can make Sonic tele*port* as much as Director's Cut has
the game that made me a gamer
Big's gameplay is underrated. I liked it.
