Can I Beat Pokemon Shield as a Team Yell Member?

- In this Pokemon Sword and Shield challenge I attempt to beat the game Shield as a member of the 'bad guys' Team Yell using their Dark type Pokemon! Different to the single Pokemon challenges I have uploaded previously, this new type of challenge was a load of fun to complete and I will definitely be doing more like this in the future.

Fake out failed cause melonys frosmoth has shield dust ability which. Negates secondary effects of move. So while fake out has 100 percent flinch chance. With shield dust it is negated and does not flinch

As a lover of Dark type and Team Yell (I love their magenta colored outfits), this was fun to watch!
Fake Out has a 100% flinch rate. The ice gym's Frosmoth didn't flinch because, for some reason, Melony runs Shield Dust on hers instead of Ice Scales. I assume GameFreak was worried that a frail moth with multiple double weaknesses would be impossible to defeat otherwise.

@@00fSkys Pretty sure that Fire and Rock do not count as one single type.
Elnurgling considers it double weakness as like for example, frostmoth is double weak to fire and rock. Volcarona is double weak to rock. That’s what I’m talking about when I said “except with one double weakness”
@@00fSkys Not really sure what you're trying to say here. Frosmoth has two regular weakness and two double weaknesses: 2xFlying, 2xSteel, 4xFire, 4xRock. Not "only one double weakness" regardless of how you choose to define a double weakness.
15:08 Fake Out normally always flinches but the reason it didn’t here is because of Frosmoth’s ability, Shield Dust, which prevents the “secondary effects” of all moves such as Snarl always lowering the opponent’s Sp. Atk. Hope this helps!! (don’t worry i had no idea this was a thing either...)

The NPCs fake out is a 100% flinch

John Saunders I played shield but I didn’t ever pay attention to Melony’s frosmoth as I’d out speed and destroy it with a 4x supper effective fire move
15:11 Fake out has a 100% chance to flinch, but maybe the frostmoth has inner focus, preventing it from being flinched
yeah i found out later - frosmoth has an ability called Shield Dust that prevents attacking moves having any additional effects, which blocks the flinch chance. pretty good ability!

I traded my Zacian for a Solgaleo. I then traded that Solgaleo for a Zacian which I traded for a shiny Solgaleo.

Btw u can get your old Pokémon from a old save file by bringing the box Pokémon to home and then delete Pokémon sword and shield data then bring your old Pokémon into the box when u get a Pokédex
Anakin Skywalker yeah I did something similar to that on the Bulbasaur only playthrough, expect I just made a new profile. For the next challenge that I am working on right now I traded the egg over to another switch then back so it always obeys

HZRC yeah, thanks. Of all the evil teams, this one gives me the most options in Pokemon Sword. You think for all the Pokemon Team Rocket uses, at least 6 would be in Galar. Also why is Team Yell the only evil team without Zubat.

You should do "beating pokemon as the gym leaders" and every time you fight them u have to use the pokemon they are using. Or "beating pokemon as bede".

Hey the reason why Frosmoth didn’t flinch is because it had the Shield Dust ability which negates opponents secondary effects from moves ie: Fake outs flinch is secondary. Hope that helped!!

@@acouch5618 Have one of the starters in another box like whatever you use like pokemon home, then when you choose a starter that let's hop have the starter you put in poke home or whatever, get the pokedex in the game and transfer the other starter in your team.
