I love my sunseeker awning. Best option I got when I purchased my Coolcamp. I would put some rubber strips under the hose clamps. That would stop scratching of the rack and also make it a little more snug when tightened up.
How cool is that? Retired from AT&T with 33 years. I was a facility tech in the construction side of the business. Spliced up fiber optic and copper cable. We love our runaway!
@@TheRunawayGang funny! I retired from at&t in '17 with 20 yrs (service tech, maint splicer and engineer) after being laid off from GTE after 13 yrs as a lineman. My wife retired from at&t with 30 yrs(15 BO and 15 as a frame tech).👍
Perfect timing for this video...My wife and I just purchased a new to us 2018 Runaway RangeRunner and purchased a sunseeker awning from a liquidation store that didn't have any hardware.
Awesome! Congrats on your runaway and new awning! Hopefully this will give ya some ideas on how to get yours mounted! Let me know if ya have any questions about the process! Blessings!
What a great addition for your travels. I wish I had chosen a roof rack for my Rouser to do the same. I did not intend to have anything on the roof and believed the rack, was not worth the extra. I will have to come up with a different solution for an awning.
Hey there Meg! So good to hear from ya! Might wanna reach out to runaway campers and see if they won’t ship you the roof rack system and have your helpful handy neighbor put them in for ya! Hopefully we can catch up with ya at one of the music festivals!
Man, I’m glad you did this one. I’ve got a Tuff Stuff roof top tent which is my kids room. Shortly after we ordered it, it went on sale - by as much as their 6.5x8 awning and I didn’t have the first clue how to mount it. Ordering a awning room for it soon so we’ll have a little private area to get dressed or use the can. We got the foam flooring down a few weeks ago so it’s starting to take shape. Our first trip is less than 2 months away so we gotta hustle!
Any big Runaway trips this year? We have a big non-camping trip later this year out west. Thinking next year maybe do a South Dakota run. We’re only about 12 hours away (Indiana) so it’s not too bad.
American capitalism and ingenuity. $10k Camper $500 roof rack system $300 awning and held on with $3 dollar clamps lol... Nice job. gave me a bunch of ideas cause I was wondering how I was gonna attach to them. Thanks. Great Video.

Awesome idea! Thanks for the tip my friend!
From one old telephone man to another telephone man, nicely done. I'm thinking about getting a Runaway so I'll be watching your other videos.👍
