Dear Zak I don't often comment, but I watch and enjoy all your videos. I miss the loooooooong ones, but totally understand Fatherhood and family life is way more important! Hope you and your family are doing well!!
You always do a great job entertaining us with wisdom and plans as you explore. There's rarely ever a dull or silent moment, which is difficult to do in normal games, let alone in The Long Walk! I mean Dark. Congrats on becoming a father. Your sleep is doomed for at least 6 months, but your inspiration for life is boosted for good.
I have to say, I found your channel while looking for videos to figure out different maps and got hooked on your chill game style. Your videos are perfect for chill days where I need the company whilst I am doing house chores. Thanks for the great content and congrats on your new baby
"Coastal Bugway" that was funny haha no sleep for a year Zak take it day by day ;) we had twins and first two years were looooong but so happy. Take care guys and be well, Cheers and congrats!
"I have seen where only two houses are standing." I just got to Coastal Highway for the first time on Interloper. One house standing lol. I didn't really think too much of it until your comment. RNG's gonna RNG.
I think the only reason it's put as 'medium difficulty' for starting is the density of predators, especially at harder difficulties(interloper/stalker), is high compared to other regions of similar food/material/tool density like Mystery Lake. Especially around Quonset, where there are 3 or 4 wolf spawns right around it.
Congratulations, pops! Those bugbears been scaring the heck outta me in my playthrough, but that bear hunt was worse than anything I've encountered. Just started watching yours recently, I'm pretty new to the game too, already learned so much here. Thanks and congrats again!
An awesome TLD content creator who goes by Archimedes has an excellent shortcut video were he not only goes down the ravine without a rope, but comes back up without one as well! Give it a watch, my man Arch is very underrated.
I am pretty sure Aurora wolves are scared of the bear coat(s) you wear. I had several Aurora wolves run away from me when during Signal Void. I got the "Exploration Game" achievement recently and it took me 2 hours just to find the last cabin between the camping ground and the fishing huts. I actually had to check a guide for it :(
@@kniperiene161 Same happened to me. And the one before that went absolutely hyper-mode and sped all around me in circles for like 5 minutes. But only went super-fast when I had the bow drawn.
Congratulations to you. I found your channel because of this series, i have seen very epesode so far so thank you for that, i have owned the game for a very long time i just don't have the time to play i listen to you while i work.
I don't know if anyone already commented it but I think you missed a summit soda at 41:51 on the floor. If someone did point it out, oh well, the comment should still help out in the algorithm. I love your content, it's very informative and you are extremely skilled at the game, it makes me want to explore more! I get lost easily in-game and IRL so having guides and playthroughs like this really helps.
I’m really happy you’re doing CH now! I personally dislike being in this region and I hope watching you tackle it may change my optics. I feel like bears have huge ranges here and that freaks me out, wolves also jumpscare me there more often, especially since they spawn really close to some main shelters (garage and house on jackrabbit for example). I also have personal beef with bear closest to DP since it sneaked up on me and mauled me on my second playthrough and it was really freakin scary 😅
Not a big coastal highway guy either. Actually felt more at home in desolation point as long as the bear walked close to the riken so I could take the cheapshot
Just look out that Yogi and BooBoo don't steal your picnic baskets Zak. Lost a 43 day run after Yogi chased me out on the Ice on my way back from CL and then As I was staggering away trying to bandage myself, BooBoo came in from his walk to Hermit Island (Misanthrope) and ate me LMAO Congrats on the baby

There is nothing, but it is interesting when you fall into the "doomsday void" and reappear at the entrance of Ravine :p * 5:00 Between those rocks to the right of the train tracks, there you can also go down to the "other world", and after a lot of walking you fall back into the void, and you reappear at the entrance of Ravine... ó,Ò
thanks a lot for your explanation about the scary bridge .. after dying there in on of my first runs despite being very carful, I never came back. Today I made a character just for that and it worked 😅even sprinting works (we'll until the 3rd time as I did fell off 😵💫) l still would not do it on my main run but it´s good to know it isn't as scary as I remembered it 👍
Had the knife breaking with 23% left cutting guts out... Was mad as hell. Then i5 heard from a streamer the moment it drops under 30% condition it can break every moment. Hadn't known this before and will keep my stuff in good conditions from now on...😢
@@nerdolo748 yeah, but I almost never have enough scrap metal first forging to make spare tools. Was to reluctant to use whetstone as well... Which is stupid. In the later run you're confident enough to make it to a drilling machine and with increasing skill you need your knife less for harvesting. Now I'm already using whetstones if the tool is down by 20%... Better save than sorry....
So.... when your giving new directions, have you thought about the spray can... It leaves a marker on your map. It could help with very obscure areas, trails that are not well known...
I didn't realized you recorded these videos a month ago. I hope you go to the airfield after they updated the void signal tale for loper. This was quite a risky bear hunt !!! I would never have dared do that. When you are dehydrated, you should eat salty food before drinking, not to waste water. Except for the bear and the almost losing well fed, it's quite relaxing to watch you play.
1:08:00 I didn't realise that it saves your progress when you stop and then resume when quartering copses, but then, following the same logic, can't you also stop and then resume when harvesting these pallets?
I can't understand it always shows a Jerry Can when you refill your lantern? And and you're searching for one because you left one at Mystery Lake? Your refill in the garage emptied the jerry can for good.
I like Coastal Highway, I'm working on dealing the wolves & bears better there. I recently killed my first bear near the fishing huts. I didn't realize the body despawned so quickly. it seemed much quicker than other animals, so I lost a lot of meat unfortunately.
The rating of CH as intermediate by the devs has always bothered me. I personally think it's the easiest region in the whole game just cause of how easy it is navigate and how much loot is there.
Congratulations!! ❤❤ Also, quick question. I noticed in part 10 or 11 (can’t remember) when you were talking about clothing, you mentioned your warmth bonus and said you pretty much couldn’t get much warmer besides replacing your inner layer jacket and 2nd pair of socks, but I was curious about the Balaclava. Isn’t that warmer than the Canadian flag toque? Or is that item not available on loper?
Hey Mr Zaknafein, I have a question. I'm pretty new to the channel and I keep hearing you talk about Stims, so my question is, why are they so important? I played interloper for years, I had runs with hundreds of days and I kinda never used the stims. What makes them so important? I know you probably explained in some other videos but since I'm new here I don't know each ones.
Love watching your videos Zak, it will be my dream to kill a bear, at the moment i have one wolf under my belt (all be it more by accident then anything else but i take it LOL), you have taught me so much.... still have a long way to go but i am on it.
ya know there are only 2 things id add to the game, a compass and the ability to jump, such simple things would make life so much better, oh one more thing would be a new game mode, for practising survival for newbies, Call it "Purgatory" where the world doesn't reset, you respawn as a new you and if you are lucky to spawn in the same region you can find all your shit.. And congrats you crazy bastard, having kids in todays economy, gotta be mental :P
But would a compass work? The "apocalypse" in TLD was caused by a magnetic disturbance so you would assume compasses would be completely fritzed out, right? If I got to pick an addition it would likely be binoculars or a renewable fire starting method such as flint and steel.
I think compass would work normally most of the time and only go crazy during aurora. On the other hand, actual solar flare would fry the electronics and power generation in real life, possibly starting fires from sparks and burnt cables. lights would flicker, yes, but no computers during solar storm like in this game. Also flashlight would not charge during real life magnetic storm, neither would it discharge at the end of it. Power induced in cables would too "dirty", and it wouldn't induce in small circuit like flashlight at all. It's an interesting topic and this is actually real threat to our civilization, worth looking into.
Not to mention it would have zero effect on life. Maybe confusing animals but nothing like the game. I guess what I want to say, is that TLD only tries to be realistic in some areas that make interesting gameplay, but ignores realism where it wants really :) and that's fine
I'm clearly bored but just thought of another thing :D you can make "compass" in game, just drop a stick from your inventory. It's not going to point north, but it will always point in the same direction on each map.
Why would cooking the meat throughly not deal with the parasites..... Most pork is something people watch because of muscle bound parasites in the meat.... yet through cooking takes care of that problem.
I think that is quite common. For NOGOA it was the same - about 50k for the first video, then half that for part 2. For this series it is a stable 10k+ per episode, but thats okay. I also just want to reach 500 days so that a complete playlist is available. Will probably take 100 episodes hehe, so a while still
