Looks very tasty. But is this really something traditional? Using demi glace doesn't sound very Japanese. But does this really matter when the result is good?
    I think not.

Hey carstenwagner3355, good catch noticing that it doesn’t look quite Japanese. My couple years living in Japan, I noticed Japanese love to absorb foreign culture and foods, that’s what they use katakana for, there are many foods they use demi glace sauce for a number of dishes including another one called omu rice and pork cutlet. I wonder what country / region the got Japanese got demi glace sauce from. Being Chinese American myself growing up I ate mostly Chinese food and are mostly familiar with southern Chinese cuisine. By the way the Japanese also love cheese and bread which I were very surprising to me too. What do you think, any other foods or sauces you noticed the Japanese like that are surprising? What’s your favorite Japanese food? What’s your favorite Japanese food to cook at home?

@@TokyoPaul Thanks for your answer. Demi glace is a french term. You have to braise beef and vegetables for hours to make it. It is a base for different kinds of sauces and soups. I am from Germany and this is well known here. I have done it myself. It took 8 hours to get 3-4 liters of this stuff.
I have had no contact with japanese cuisine. Beside sushi. So I can't tell which japanese food I like most, because of lack of experience...but this will change in the future.

I see a French term. Hey nice to e-meet you in Germany. Cool, I didn't learn about Demi glace sauce since I started eating Japanese food. Wow, 8 hours is a lot of braising. It is pretty tasty when done right. Nice, I eat sushi too. No problem. What types of sushi do you like to eat? Nice, do you plan to visit Japan?

I enjoy beef stew so this was relaxing to watch - the ingredients you use look very fresh! Watching this made me want some stew, haha. I haven't heard of demi-glace so I'll see if the stores near me have it.
