- I'm back in #Belarus so resident historian, Dr. Ihar Melnikau returns for an epic provincial trip to the villages surrounding the city of #Baranovichi in Brest Oblast, where we explore and retrace the events of the Battle of Baranovichi which took place in July 1916 on the Eastern Front during #ww1 between the armies of Russia, Austria-Hungary and Germany.

Missed this. This is what l need in my life right now. Just want to see and learn more about Belarus 🇧🇾. The people, food, culture, music etc ….
Why are you interested in Belarus?
@@Marina-pz9uy Considering a move there. USA 🇺🇸 going down hill faster you can say the word and letter I.
@@Marina-pz9uy They show up most respect to straight white Conservative Christian males. They don’t kowtow to anyone else particularly those in the west. They beat to their own drum.
@@LightHouseChurchThailand I moved out there. Was running losing my shoes. I wish you luck and happiness. You don't have to follow my advice, but still, consider another country to move, something without a dictator as a leader. You have a wide choice😉
I love shopping at the street markets in the fall in Minsk. Great homemade/grown produce. Honey, pickles, etc
Remarkable indeed Niall.Well done!
Good to see you back in the Motherland chara!
Nice work Mr.Partizan!
Happy to see you in Belarus 🇧🇾 again. Exciting video with interesting stories and explanation.
Glad you enjoyed it!
You may check with the historian but from I remember from school, these battles were fought between country men, local men, who had been forcibly drafted into either German or Russian armies, Poles against Poles, etc.
It is amazing how these sites also survived ww2
Hello very very good and brave...
Back to Belarus 👍🏻
Welcome to home❤️😃
I think this is poignant with what is going right now . Great work
Cheers to you. ..
Thanks for your video. You may visit Lesnaya near Baranovichi to learn more about 2nd WW history. I think you'll like it. Also, we had nuclear weapon there at times of Soviet Union.
Epic history. Phenomenal 👍
Definitley 👍🏻👍🏻
Cool, a real archaeological expedition. Let's hope there won't be another battle for baranovichi
Amen Mr. T
That was cool finding that grave site that was hidden. Also I was late to the gam,e but the Portugal videos were a nice change of pace that I enjoyed as well.

Loving the content
Sad these war memorials not maintained better :(
Most of them are but others not so. I hope our work will be helpful in not only preserving our past and raising awareness for future generations, but also educating them as well.
To bad you didn’t bring a metal detector with you. It would be interesting to see what could be found around the pill boxes. Interesting video. Thanks for posting.
You need a permit for one of those but yeah, it would be interesting. Many of these sites still have WW1 artifacts lying around. On our last visit, we found wine bottles and a kettle.
It's strange to me that the government doesn't preserve these places. Or maybe it's for the best that you get to see nature take back what was once a scene of death and war... either way, really interesting stuff!
ww1 I would be afraid to walk back there with mines maybe still around and active 😨
Nice ww1 find Partizan and Dr.
The man in search of truth. Ofc +
I will hold the camera you do the hard chopping manual labor :)
