Damn, shame this was never finished. I would love a comic style like video bames. Danger Girl was pretty cool. Anyone know more comic like games that are not Marvel and DC?
Spawn, Ninja Turtles, Judge Dredd and Hellboy being the main ones I can think of off the top of my head. They've all had a few decent games, but I imagine you already know most of those. Then there's WildC.A.T.S. for the snes, they made a god awful Druuna game for PS1, and if you're into more comedy style games, The Tick, Garfield, Darkwing Duck, and The Mask have all had 1 snes game that was at least decent. Oh, Battle Chasers for you Red Monika fans. You mentioned that Danger Girl game, aaaannndd I think that's about all I know of. Probably missing a bunch, but I can't think of them.
As interesting as this is, I'm glad this got cancelled, lol. It's so unengaging. Like, it's unfinished but even if you polish it up, this looks like such a bland and unfun sidescroller. Even if you fixed everything up, there's nothing to the traversal or action that would've been anything more than the bare minimum running, jumping and punching people. Gen13 deserved a more inspired/ambitious game for sure... they still do, let's be honest. It's a cool property. It is a really neat find though, and it's always great to see PS Museum drop a new video! Thanks for sharing this
It really is a shame that EA scrapped it because although what you see is an early prototype, it had tremendous potential and even this early in the development, the gameplay was smooth. I'll remind you that this is the same developer of the horrendous game The Crow. It would have been their redemption had it been completed. I believe that EA ultimately cancelled it because the comic book didn't end up as popular as they thought it would. I have illustrations that Jim Lee provided for the game that I wanted to post on here but they are stuck in storage. Another obscure fact is that Traci Lords, known mostly for adult movies, provided music for the game. Unfortunately that music is copyrighted so it couldn't be included in the video.
@@PlayStationMuseum Interesting facts, I've been wanting to make a game with PS1/N64 style graphics. One, a superhero game, The other a scary game! Though currently I'm involved in a visual novel game jam. So the superhero and scary game's will be next!
