I just wanna say, I've never seen any youtuber or 'influencer' put so much effort into making merch that I actually want to buy. Twoset's merch designs look so good, they're not just crappy t shirts with their faces tacked on them. Who designs the merch? It's goddamn quality
Every time they announce merch my thoughts are “woah, I want that one too” and “this looks like a designer store design.”
The Violin Anatomy shirt is so cool and well-detailed where it feels more like a store design than a UA-cam merch store’s. If I was rich I would just buy all the TwoSet merch possible.

Violinists are so protective of their instrumentas (and rightly so), but apparently all it takes is some bugs and they are out. I never thought I’d hear Eddie Chen tell us to burn a violin, but wow
My mom is a cellist, but in her college years, she briefly took up viola. After that, she went back to cello. She never sold her viola, and it went untouched for years.
Eventually, I got interested in viola, so we took her old, untouched viola to a nearby string shop. Some of the same bugs mentioned here- the ones that cut through bow hair- were in her viola case.
Thankfully, the viola wasn’t the right size for me anyway (it was 16” and the viola size that fits me is 14”) so it didn’t matter too much. We are now renting a different, 14” student viola that I love to pieces. I will practice valiantly and not let it be infested with bugs.
You missed the grand opportunity of writing "...it didn't bug me too much" 😂
As a cellist I am so glad you swapped to the inferior instrument. After reading the first sentence, I feared for my life.

A couple of years ago, there was this incident happened to my piano. I practiced everyday and on this one day when I was playing, I noticed that my high G note sounded a bit slack. Then I opened the top to look to see if anything was wrong, I found out that the hammer of that note was bitten, not only that but other hammers were also slightly damaged. Later we found that there were rats hiding inside my piano, they got in through the holes in the pedals and munched the hammers. We set traps and caught them all but I still felt really painful and from then I hated rats. I'm still practising on that piano til today.

I absolutely hate repairing worm holes when I’m restoring violins. I find a lot of little tracks that have been turned to dust inside the linings of antique instruments.
Bow bugs are also such a nuisance! We obviously have hundreds of bows in our shop and we have to be careful about how we store them. If they are not hung up out in the open where they can get light, they are packed up and wrapped tightly in plastic.
Please please make sure to keep your instruments and your cases clean! Wipe the excess rosin and any dirt/oil from your hands off of your instrument every time you play. Wash your hands before playing your instrument. Take it to a luthier every six months to be readjusted and deep cleaned. Clean out and vacuum your case every few months! Sometimes I recommend throwing a couple tea bags into the pockets of your case for a day or two to absorb extra moisture and make your case smell nice. Little fabric pouches with baking soda also work really well. You can cut a little square of a dryer sheet (a whole one is too much) and stick it in the pocket. All kinds of little tricks, but generally just don’t be gross.
Thank you so much for the advice! I’ll keep that in mind.
@Flower8 since a lot of the instrument is simply held in place by tension, certain parts (bridge and soundpost) will fall out of place over time and need to be readjusted. I make sure that the pegs and fine tuners are clean and properly lubricated. I go in with cotton swabs and cleaners (the type depends on the type of varnish) to make sure the is no dirt, rosin, or oil from the players hands lingering on the instrument. Every once in a while I will use a kind of wax to bring out a little shine and protect the varnish (not every instrument needs it). If you take your instrument to the luthier often and take good care of your instrument in general, it should be a pretty quick process.
Wow, tea bags! Never thought of that, thanks!
I don't play violin but good tips for those who do 🙂
Tbh this would make the people not want to practice even more.
Can we just appreciate how cute those 2 looked at 4:38? Their reaction is when you see something gross while eating
“Under normal circumstances if your case unopened for a long time”
Me: finally opens case for 5 months now
Are you safe???

Australia is the wrong place to live if “bugs bug you out”
They are used to it, they either spray them, or burn them.
zwz • zdenek burn them? Noice
zwz • zdenek or we just accept them and become one with the bugs
Don't you mean "Anythig in the Southern Hemisphere near Australia?" I saw a FÛCKING tarantula the size of my classmates head And my stomach(I'm thin)
are there many bugs in Australia??
Watched this video a month ago and come back to leave a comment to “thank” Two Set! Now every time when I practice and hear something weird, I think about bugs 😭😭😭😭
I once found a spider try to silk my cello while preforming outside. It was cool watching it silk, but terrified for the instrument. If I squish it, won't it, like... and I don't want to touch it.
No one:
Literally no one:
Done by no one ever:
Twoset: reviewing bugs inside instruments
@@heyytheree ikr he's so traumatized hahah
@@procrastinatingcat6195 thanks I've seen that everywhere down here :(
This is the quality entertainment I expect from TwoSet. And I don't even play. Anymore.
“Don’t watch this while your eating”
Me: *proceeds to toss whole orange in the bin*

Hello me, but on another device 😈
Even though there wasn’t an acoustic included in the video I stared at my guitar for a long time...just thinking...
1:56😰😰 you had to show that!!

And as a clarinetist that hates any worms other than earthworms, I’m going to practice aggressively for the rest of my life
Practice aggressively 😂
Don’t worry too much hahahah, I have a seven year old clarinet that I haven’t been using, but it’s completely fine even though I live in a tropical climate. Just keep your case in a dry and clean place and it’ll be fine.
Ho YY THANK GOODNESS! Luckily i live in australia so its not that wet here :3
Ho YY thanks so much!!!!!!!
I didn’t know those “instrument diseases” existed...
And honestly, I didn’t want to know
Eddy’s reactions are gold ✨
I’m a clarinet player and now I’m fully terrified to stop practicing.
yes, common clothes moths are nearly everywhere in peoples homes, almost world wide (In Australia too, according to wikipedia) I have seen them here in Ireland, they are the larva of the clothes moths that fly around and they collect fibers around them to protect themselves, so they move, like you said, by sticking their heads and bodies outside of the fabric tube and pull themselves along! If you have found moth eaten fabric in your closet, it is actually the larva that eat fabric, not the fully grown moth! If you vaccume and clean regularly, this will not be a problem! These videos do look like a marketing ploy to service your instruments!
