    I think it's also a good idea to dedicate iron sulfur and copper storage near the factories just to cut down on wasted walking time. Gold, uranium, carbon, and tritanium may be worth it as well, but those resources are less used, so it's kind of a judgment call.

    Thank you JD! Just what I was looking for as I start working on my factory ship. Great video, great timing! Hope to see more Cosmoteer from your channel! Cheers :)

    I feel the speed bonus is negligible outside of ammo factories feeding weapons. When you're in a place to use any of these factories (not in combat, probably mining or unloading a miner ship), the 75% speed is kinda negligible as youre not pressed for time. I feel it's a better incentive to give a production boost instead, i.e. every adjacent factory boosts your ouput by 25% (or so), so you go from 1 iron -> 1 steel to 1 iron -> 1.25 steel, either every fourth iron producing two or giving a 25% chance for each iron to produce more. It'd feel like I'm getting more for designing a factory block accordingly.

    Mmm I liked the taking all to one storage and then moving it to all the rest... But there is an efficiency issue. If you were to make a bit of the ammo for example and the move it to the other storages. Then you could for example. Chain the storages together. This is inefficient in a different way. But then the max stacks will be reached rather than leaving half filled stacks everywhere. Good video. Have a nice day

    love not being forced to micromanage .. but there must be a more efficient way .. now the crew is doing several times the work necessary and crew sadly still tends to be my bottle neck

    Did you change the crew profiles at all or they are all redshirts default?

    I keep running into a huge problem where my hypercoil factory just steals coils from anywhere on the ship. Yeah it starts with the one designated by a supply chain but when that runs out it'll just take from anywhere else! I've messed with every setting I could find and nothing seems to stop this from happening without excessive micromanagement

    • @JDPlays
      @JDPlays  Рік тому +3

      My Work around was to set some dedicated storage for just coils, I didnt have this problem originally but im guessing some patch happened that changed the way things worked

      @wesir427 Рік тому +1

      Same, I tried turning off automatic delivery of coils but that seems to disable the supply chain delivery as well

      I made a dedicated, 2 crew Coil Factory ship.

      @@jonnyjazzz thats a very simple, but decent idea, as it just completely simplifies the problem xD

    is it possible to automate my ships to mine for me for like a certain resource? mining by myself is really annoying and time consuming

    K I'm new to cosmoteer I just wanna know how do you confirm the supply route or at least show it's there cause it doesn't say what's happenig

    do you have a link to your ship build?

  • @Arbeta10000
    @Arbeta10000 11 місяців тому

    It seems to no longer work, crew takes from the dedicated coil storage and delivers to the factories even when it's not linked to deliver to any other places, and the factories are linked to both dump off in the one box and receive from the two smaller boxes and nothing else. I guess we're meant to use the storage limit and apply it to hyper coils and processors now? Seems a bit inconvenient, would've been nicer to have an "keep at least this number of this type of resource if possible" option somewhere..

    @thefactorymustgrowlarger3947 2 роки тому

    A bit lost on the motivation on the need for "supply chain mode" 11:24, it seems both simpler and more robust to dedicate storage space for each resource instead of allowing whatever factory is the fastest fill up all your storage (avoiding the need to stop all ammo factories at 14:47). I am usually limited by how much each station wants to buy, so as long as I have x amount of each resource, then that seems better to me.
    Otherwise good video that shows all the mechanics involved.

    Nice idea, but really hard to follow. It goes by so fast and it's unclear what the heck you are doing with all those arrows going everywhere. I know you're trying to keep the time down, but for me anyway it really needs to slow down and explain the details a bit more. Still, it's helpful and I did learn a few things, so thank you.

      Agreed, starting around 15:40 it is VERY hard to follow because there is so much movement on screen which makes it hard to track his mouse during the explination. Especially when the crew is running around at 8x speed. - KhaoticChicken

    • @JDPlays
      @JDPlays  2 роки тому +3

      You are right I am trying to keep the video length down and I avoid jump cuts, I want to try to explain things as they happen rather then just cutting to 'Here is one i prepared earlier' which leads to the running parts of the video at 8x speed. This combined with the not great interface for logistics means there is a lot on the screen at once. I'm glad it helped somewhat and Ill keep what you both said in mind going forward

      UA-cam lets you slow the playback speed if you like. Try .75 or so, that might be easier than pause-rewind-play

    Did you built this without a cockpit and requirements to build a ship? I'm looking around to see if it's possible to build a station but cockpit/thrusters/etc are required to build a new ''ship''.
    Would be nice to just being able to build a stationary space station...

    всё что ты сделал, это бесполезно. Эта скорость никому не нужна! Единственный момент когда нужна скорость, когда у тебя фабрика по изготовлению патронов используется непосредственно для заряжания оружия.
