Mr Haja Mohideen shows us the ways to make a Tarbus (Fez), Mr Haja established Kedai Songkok O.S.M. Mohd Shariff in 1936. .
The shop is well known for custom made traditional songkok, produced with the use of a sewing machine. Each songkok is unique, as it is tailored to the wearer’s head size; and differs in height, colour, patterns and material. The shop is very popular with customers from near and far, mainly due to the reasonable price offered and good quality of the songkok. Their clientele include TYT Tun Dato' Seri Utama (Dr.) Haji Abdul Rahman bin Haji Abbas, former governor of Penang, as well as the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.
