Seeing Bill making a joke makes him adorable! Never thought he would do that.
I’m so grateful 😘and I hope you never stop being a fan, I would like to honour you by giving you my personal information if that’s ok by you.💘
You gotta love the fact that Bill hasn't changed or modified his hairstyle even slightly over his entire career in the public's eye. The bangs have always stayed.
Man, hahahahaha, Bill Wyman's such a sport, he's one of me favorite Rolling Stones, I always knew he had a sense of humor - GO BILL! :)
the guy touched bill's thigh about 15 times too much.
sküll düggery Everett was the best ever. A groundbreaking DJ and it was thanks to him we had Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody.
Hilarious. Bill and Charlie being straight faced next to Mick and Keith being outwardly animated was the perfect dynamic. Amazed that they live to be in their 80s.
Everett was the best ever. A groundbreaking DJ and it was thanks to him we had Queen and Bohemian Rhapsody.
Jeezus, Kenny, keep your hands off him.
The groove really suffered after he left
so precious. he was the quit gentle soul
Guys - this was the Kenny Everett Show. It was a comedy programme where Kenny would play various stereotypes like Sid Snot and Cupid Stunt. Kenny's humour was edgy and sometimes didn't work but I would say he was always watchable and not much today is. Sadly lost to AIDS in the 1990s.
I vaguely remember this interviewer. He did risque stuff all the time. Bill wyman played along knowingly even though it did make him uncomfortable still
My god everyone it's a joke interview and bloody fantastic from the great Kenny Everett
in seven short years mr wyman will be very close too 90 yrs old...keep rockin
If I had been Wyman, the second time that guy touched my leg like that, I would have moved my chair over a bit. He's a little too touchy-feely.
Hahahahaha.. That was very funny! Bill makes for a terrific straight man
Bill... what a legend... and WHAT a bassist.
I play bass, and Bill's a bloody virtuoso. Doubters- listen to the improvised 'Fingerprint File'. He's amazing.
Sorry to break this to you, but that’s Mick Taylor. I’m a huge fan of Bill’s bass playing, but a surprising amount of the really catchy bass lines from Stones tunes are Keith or Ronnie.
- Satisfaction - It's unbelievable how many people think the bass just mimics the guitar line in this song, which would have been the predictable thing to do. Instead, Wyman plays a loping counter-rhythm against it, based on the two root chords. To me, it sounds derived from songs like "Born in Chicago". Brilliant idea, and one of the components that makes the beat to that song so infectious.
There are plenty of other examples, the guy was a real original in my opinion.
Listen to Crossroads, not just Clapton’s brilliant guitar but Bruce’s even better bass playing.
See how uncomfortable Wyman is about Everett touching his leg?
My attitude is "So long as you keep it out of my arse, you can do what you want"
Some British humor I'll never get!
if you would like people who aren’t children r**iest then you should Stan one direction, all British but one
"Would you mind if the camera came in close and gave everyone at home home a good look at those famous lips". Lol. Remembered Everett's shows back in he 80s when I was growing up. Really funny (be good to get them on dvd), not sure how much is available though.
He is so cute
I’m so grateful 😘and I hope you never stop being a fan, I would like to honour you by giving you my personal information if that’s ok by you.💘
Stop touching me
And its all in the best possible taste !
i love bill ...LOL
The Old Bill Knows...
Well said.
The Kenny Everett Video Show! Classic!!
I'm a bass player, and am familiar with a lot of the great bassists in the world, and there are plenty. Like Willie Weeks, who played on Fingerprint File and It's Only Rock & Roll. I'm very picky too, and I think Bill Wyman is a great bass player. There's no one else that plays like him. For my money, the Stones' rhythm section sound went way downhill, when Daryl Jones replaced him. He was part of the thing that made that band tick, a real innovator. Daryl's a better technician, but who cares?
er- he did 30 years with the Stones- i don't hold it against him if he wanted a change!
I miss Bill.
@redlion195 He left the band at exactly the right time. They became an overpriced nostalgia act after his departure.
That was rather humorous.
lives on a stage
feothy buggah
And Four Weddings was one of like 8 VHS tape movies I received as a gift, for the record, one Christmas--only stinker in the bunch, and I gave it to some poor soul, "Only 10 minutes watched", practically new.
Well said. They also kind of looked alike, oddly enough.
Or Jumpin Jack Flash - the original, studio single. Wyman just pumps relentlessly on the root note, which gives it a drive that's completely missing from the live, Daryl Jones version.
poor man's version of Monte Python...z-z-z-
Deadpan Bill
LOL at touching the knee all the time!
Thanks, and agreed btw.
@lowend100
Interesting comments. Since you're a bass player, I think I have another listen. What tracks would you recommend that nicely show off his playing?
yes I think so- and his new band played as Led Zeppelin's support at O2 the other night
I admire to Bill because he is really cool bass player!! He just stand there and plays the bass and lays the foundations to the Rolling Stones sound, infact he is the SOUND!!!!
Brings BILL Back
berry kicks ass. he was like a steamroller kicking duane and dickey aside. 10 times the bassist duane was the guitar player. i've heard dickey say he just amazed the brothers. even today i go back and can't believe his playing. gerry mcavoy(rory gallagher), jack bruce, chas chandler(early animals),leo lyons(ten years after)are incredible too and very under rated!!!!!!!!!!
i agree Bill is the only real bass player for the stones.daryl jones doesn't compare.
Fingerprint File bass: Mick Taylor
IORR bass: right, Willy Weeks
Slight correction:
0:39 If anybody's to be, it would be Brian Jones.
very true
He was almost 50 back then (do the math: 1936 + 50 = 1986).
I’ve had girlfriends that I didn’t touch their leg as often as this interviewer touches Bill.
que tu soit un stones. - un queen - un led- zep .. tu reste pour les gens - les Fans!!! une rock- star totalement logique.. 🎵🎵🎵🎵🇲🇨
The thing I like about Wyman is the unpredictable way he handled some very typical songs and rhythms, especially early on in the Stones recording career.
His idea of how to handle the beat on their version of "Not Fade Away", is great. I've never heard another bass player play the song like that, although it is now something that I've stolen from ol' Bill. He also plays very cool and/or innovative lines on some of these:
- Have Mercy
Good ole Kelly Enema!
@BassLinezzz They hardly sound the same without him.
he is very funny!^^
I like Bill Wyman, but that relationship and marriage to Mandy Smith was repellent. I mean, it's not as if Wyman was some hick from the backwoods of Arkansas.(so Arkansas). And what was with Mandy Smith's mother?
This interview is quite charming. Wyman has an everyman quality that's quite winning.
Funny.
Old Kenny Everett just can't keep his hands off Wyman's thigh, I notice...
Aaaaah! Cuddly Ken!
Hey Dead Pan Killer,
I play bass too and agree that Fingerprint File is an absolutely amazing performance.
Only thing is, it's not Bill Wyman playing on that track.... It's the great Willie Weeks, who also plays on the studio version of "Only Rock & Roll"
nobody can beat mick jagger white n
@FidelCastro128 what does his name stand for
@otumoetaipat Was a famous British comedic tv presenter.
That guy is seriously creepy.
he's very george harrison ish
@TheWoud He was a comedian.
@cgs1949 in former times it was quit normal for wealthy man to marry young women. Nothing bad when they treat them good.Whats about the millions of textil-industry-child-slaves who produce also our expensive label-brand-things for a handfull rice ,living in slums.seldom read about in our"independent" press.
I sure hope Bill didn't do anything naughty back stage after this, what with all the current furore.
just a fact:
At age 47, the Rolling Stones' bassist, Bill Wyman, began a relationship with 13-year old Mandy Smith, with her mother's blessing. Six years later, they were married, but the union only lasted seventeen months. Not long after, Bill's 30-year-old son Stephen married Mandy's mother, age 46. That made Stephen a stepfather to his former stepmother, Mandy.
Think it also made him a stepfather to his own DAD!! -well as they say its all Rock n Roll!!
well they couldnt been nothing to her mother just looking for money
Entwistle? McCartney? John Paul Jones?
@ronson232 and bill isnt too comfortable with that, i notice..
I think he was promoting his shit solo album - interesting how Charlie Watts is genuinely modest and Bill quite is falsely modest
All you can do is throwing shit at fan. Charlie was the first who always admired Bill's genuine modesty and generousity. Learn some facts before talking crap!
Ha!
Qu'est-ce que c'est que ce présentateur charlot ? 😆
I MET HIM :) his daughter matilda was like my best friend and we would play hide and seek under my bed lol
ROFLMFAO!
for sure he had a relationship with her from her 12th year onwards, that's a fact.
@DEATHCRUE69 LOL!!!! This is more complicated than calculus. If a test question asked for a formula for this trysty relationship nobody would get it right. I'm still laughing!!!
Kenny Everett was GAY GAY GAY and all that thigh touching was his uncontrollable attempt to convert Bill to the other side!
@DEATHCRUE69, that's unbelievable.
it was Kenny Everett- a gay comedian and DJ who died of AIDS
The Stones have always been Keith, Charlie, Bill and Ian Stewart. Saw Bill play on his 70th birthday at Preston and he did a bass solo (unprepared) he was great.
Why did Bill do this,,,,,,,,
It's nothing on a fact!
Priscilla herself said that Elvis didn't even touched her before marriage.
Uh, it's a joke, folks. Get it?
what year was that?
British and rock, hell opposites ....
What year was this?
Bill's humble, low key demeanor reminds me a lot of George Harrison. Both were such cool guys who never seemed to take advantage of their fame by acting condescending or egotistical. I like that.
vampyros1 Harrison was an overrated smarmy hypocrite.
Fuck you daniel
For sure and there is a lot more to Bill than most people realize.
NEVER compare Bill to George. George NEVER touched a 14 yr but who did? Bill Wyman
Daniel and Bill Wyman was a disgusting creep that dated a 13 yr
