WOW! This is so wonderful! I've got a perfume quality rose bush that will need to be moved next year and I've been deeply worried that it would die! Now I know how to grow babies just in case! And have enough to share!!
I would suggest you use some ripe hips if you want to try this method. The hips are full of seeds and usually give you a 40per cent germination rate. You also need to be very patient, 20 days to produce these results is miraculous. Belt and braces, you can also take cuttings from your rose, pencil thickness and about 8 inches long. Put these cuttings into a soil based compost. These will root and usually take two years to get to flowering stage. Good luck.

Wow that is amazing... but did they actually grow up to become adult rose plants and did they really produce roses? I am really curious to know as you showed some adult rose plants and roses after planting the seedlings out. :)
OMG...are you really this ignorant: of course plants grown from seed. They will bloom (that is what the rose-species do), but maybe a different color depending who combined dna with the seed producing plant (polination-result).
@@muurrarium9460 Quite rude, for somebody who has problems spelling. It's 'pollination'. People in glasshouses should not throw stones or something along this line.
I would think the resulting plant may depend on whether the parent is an F1 hybrid, or an heirloom, as well as what pollinated the bud. So, it may, or may not grow up to look like the parent plant.
That would be only if it is from seed. From this it isn't conclusive one way or another. I would have though it it was from seed ,the hips would have more shoots as they have more than one seed usually.
That's correct. Cuttings are the preferred method for clones of the parent plant. Although it'd be interesting growing a rose from seed to see what develops.
One example of the same cross of the same two rose parents but one pollination done in France by Francis Meilland and the other in the U.S.A. by a famous grower and breeder there produced three red roses with each being quite different. The French cross produced Papa Meilland a beautifully dark red rose. The U.S.A. cross produced 1) The beautifully Mr Lincoln red rose. and 2) the very dark red Oklahoma rose.

I succeeded in germinating two rose seeds out of 20 or so 😅 and made the great mistake of exposing them too early to the sun... So they died. You have to put them in a well lit place with no direct sunlight...
