- The Live Room session was recorded in Studio A at the infamous Ocean Way Recordings (Los Angeles, CA) earlier this year, the same room that artists from The Beach Boys and Frank Sinatra to Whiskeytown, Radiohead, and Tom Petty used before us. Despite the fact that we were coming off of a long break from playing music together (the session was captured before the release of Rivers In the Wasteland and its following tour), we knew that the opportunity to record at Ocean Way was something we would regret passing up. We were a bit nervous because for many of these songs, this was the first time we had played them as a band since recording them. But as we began "making noise" to test the microphones and get sounds, something happened that moved us to take chances with the setlist and the song arrangements that we are so happy we were able to document. Hopefully you can feel the energy of this incredibly special time for us. In retrospect, this session represents a landmark for NEEDTOBREATHE. This is the band getting our mojo back.

One of my favorite songs by them. I wish I had found this video sooner. It gives it more meaning. I get emotional every time I listen to it, but this version made it feel like I was listening to it for the first time all over again.
His voice certainly lets me breathe better!!!
I come back to that song every once in a while, it makes me cry. Even though Jesus isn't named, I am reminded the cost on the "difference maker"... LOVE that song !!
Breathtaking is exactly the right word. This song carries such am impact. It's gentle, but it runs so deep.

Such a powerful song. The song has a bit of double meaning. Yes, we can be difference makers and it can feel really good to help people and do good in this world, but we have to be cautious so that it doesn't go to our heads. We have to realize that doing things for our own glory is pointless. In the end, the only thing that matters is the positive difference you made in the lives of others and the only thing you can take with you are the people that you shared the truth with.
Had a chance to see them live.
Best concert ever hands down. Also check out there documentary that came out recently it gives you a detail into the lives of these amazing men. It's called into the mystery.

Breathtaking. Beautiful. Moving. Up lifting. These men are lyrical poets. Their ascension to mainstream music has returned my faith that music can, in fact, move me and renew my heart.
I sincerely hope the band is able to release the #liveroomsessions as an album. These versions only add more dimensions to the emotion carried deep within the notes and voices.

He often writes songs from a perspective that is different from his own, but I think here he is worried that he will forget that God gave them the success they have and that he could not do it with his mates either. That part where they disappear sort of indicates that he might have thought that he was the reason the band was successful and then realized he would be nothing without Seth and Bo. And God....
The rock on which he stands reminds me of Moses standing there in front of the crowd smacking the rock with his staff. The one time pride got in the way of one of the most humble men in history. And it cost him big. He ruined it with his own two hands....
