why? poor monster wanted to play ball. he tossed it back to the boys. if i was those boys, i would've dived in and tried to rescue the poor monster. he didn't break anything or hurt anyone. he was just excited about playing ball, that's why he was yelling with joy. he was so excited to play ball with someone he tripped and fell. obviously he didn't drown, he lived down there, anyways. so he just gave up and stayed underwater, out of embarrassment. not a real 'monster'. just a gargantuan who wanted friends.
