Again, I love your perspectives and insights. When my busy days give me 30 minutes to spare that is often my mental reset, try to not look at screens, maybe silence or a piece of music that moves my soul. These moments are gifts and I appreciate your ideas to fully take advantage of them. All the best Conor.
Thank you Connor, your message (and all other insights) are very helpful. And even though they might not sound like breakthrough discoveries, those simple truths laid down so well are brilliant. Thank you for sharing - your time to put these ideas and videos together and for sharing them!
1 Unto the next task 2 Sharpen your "sword" (practice skills, read, generate ideas) 3 Think about your direction 4 Find the fast flowing part of the river
The stories and analogies are, as usual, Conor, very relevant to the message. My question? Where do you want to get to fast? I've now realized that the journey is the thing. The satisfaction of arriving is so fleeting compared with enjoying the travelling.
I usually take a walk and rehearse my presentation in my head (so I seem to think) as I often get strange looks from strangers. I always use your advise : How to start a presentation that you posted a few years ago. I start with a story...Thank you...
Great insights, as always, Conor! I'm a PhD student, and I often find myself in the opposite end of the spectrum, whereby I allocate much more time figuring out where in the river should I position myself initially before launching. In what I do (math/cs), developing and testing an idea takes a lot of time, hence the initial hesitation if we are to call it as such. But I do think that I can find a better compromise between time spent on picking a lane and time it takes to see where it leads. Could you please tell me what you think?

Very astute observation. Ray Dalio does meditation in his spare time.
Ray seems to have done alright in life ;-)

I found the Pomodoro technique, and the book, very helpful in taking action once I know that I want to write...
@@ConorNeill Thank you for your reply!
