Honest question, Why would God/Jesus create this pandemic in the first place? I think I understand that god wants us all to have free will as we wouldnt be tested otherwise as such but I'm sure that God could test us in much less brutal ways than this. Thank you guys and awesome video!
I dont view God as a guy who is constantly micromanaging everything from above. While he created the earth, he didnt necesarily cause every earthauake and storm. As the planet naturally changes and evolves we will often encounter hardship. However, imagine how this pandemic would effect the world in the 18th century before germ theory and most pf our current medical tequniques? God will continue to give us the scientific knowledge needed to overcome this obstacle and many more that will come.
Here's what I know: 1) God only gives us the hardships that are absolutely necessary for our growth. 2) God won't give us anything we can't handle. God is giving us the opportunity - through this pandemic - to reconnect with our families, ourselves, and Him. He is allowing us to put our lives in order, to prioritize better, to rely on Him, to grow, to minister to others, to delve deeper into the scriptures, to become more like our Savior Jesus Christ. How ever hard this experience is emotionally, mentally, physically, and/or socially, by turning to Christ we not only endure though it, but become stronger because of it. I believe the pandemic is all preparatory to the Savior's Second Coming. Hopefully that answered your question!
This is a wonderful question. One of the objectives of our time here on earth is to learn and grow by faith so that we can return to God stronger and more like Him. Our growth is part of God’s plan. This mortal life is filled with joys and challenges, struggles and successes, healings and grief. If we turn to Christ for strength and peace, we grow stronger spiritually. We put our faith in Him and we can be cleansed. If we love and serve and take care of others, we become more like God. We could not have these experiences in a Garden of Eden. We needed to come to a place with imperfections filled with imperfect people so that we could learn.

James Taylor You reference the possibility of two Christ’s. Mormons believe there is only one Christ. The Christ as testified by prophets in both the Holy Bible and The Book of Mormon. Same miraculous Savior.

One thing we can fully agree on is that through the Savior's example, he has shown us how to live a good life and return some day to our Heavenly Fathers's presence. I see where you're coming from Ben. We have to understand that the pandemic has been part of God's plan all along. Sometimes the way we expect things to work out isn't what He has planned for us. It seems confusing at times, just as you were saying: why? Why isn't God allowing the missionaries to serve the normal way? God has a different plan. More than anything at this time, I have felt that this pandemic is the opportunity to reconnect with God and be a missionary in a different way. I feel that if we desire, we will have the ability to grow our faith and come unto the Savior. Sometimes we have to go through really hard and devastating things, but God knows that it is those experiences that bring us to Him in a holier way. In a sense, God is still teaching, strengthening, and healing His people. It's just been in a very different way. I know with all of my heart that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is true, I hope that you'll be able to feel it too. Hopefully that answered your question Ben!
