You are absolutely correct. I ran out of time. I recommend this SmartHistory video for more details about Bishop Bernward's Bronze doors from the Ottonian period: ua-cam.com/video/__pl88NO9Jw/v-deo.html
Thanks! I created the videos for the Art History survey course that I teach, so I don't plan on adding more at the moment, but let me know if you have requests.
This is extremely interesting to me thanks for posting!! I dunno what Art History is like in college but have reeeally struggled deciding if to take it for awhile. I'm one of those.. "in the closet" pbs/history channel/masterpiece theatre/ ancient manuscript/ geisha period/history of languages nerds where its definitly impossible to share it unless ppl are crazy into it lol. First couldn't imagine being *thaat* totally time consumed into an entire major on a DRYY subject and dead people. But each time I'd toss the idea, I'd catch something on tv, and that dreamy musty earthy ancient snag in my gut would tug deeply needing to get away. Could smell it, taste the rust in the air in my mind. Or run across a fbook story on an ancient text and be lost in the details, suddenly getting the coffee & cranking Loreena Mckennit, smelling the rich mossy air and feel their chaffing lips from long roads. Think I've FINALLY decided to go with it after watching this.
If you are passionate about the subject of Art History (and it sounds like you are), it is a very rewarding class. Look for a good professor, and you will enjoy it. You may also want to try History, Classics, or other area studies classes. Good luck!
I've watched 4 of your videos so far and they're very helpful. I would just say to add more of the ottonian art, because it ended so suddenly.
