Abandoned Admiralty crane

This long abandoned structure is located on the banks of the river Forth, east of Stirling. It is a rail mounted crane on the Admiralty pier where munitions would be loaded from the nearby storage depots onto puffers which would carry them along the Forth and out to sea where they supplied the British fleet during World War 1.

I've never been out to the crane at Bandeath but did have a sneaky peak in some of the munitions huts. Thanks for this.

It doesn't appear to be very accessable by foot anymore and the pier doesn't look to safe either.

Excellent flying, and filming looks a really good place to fly. I wonder how long it will be before the planks below it give way.

Thanks. It's really only accessable by drone now. Even if you could get through the reeds and swamp I don't think some of those planks would take much weight. Must only be a matter of time before the crane ends up in a watery grave.

I never knew that was there! I also wish they'd take the decision to rebuild the bridge - the plans are there, nobody seems to want to take the final say.
