Disconnect all the hdmi cables from all ports of TV, now plug home theatre to TV using hdmi cable on hdmi ARC port of tv. Turn on home theatre and put the input of home theatre as TV.

Hello sir will I get surround sound from soundbar if my TV does not support Dolby Atmos but my soundbar support Dolby Atmos if I have all connectivity in tv
In some tvs you may get dolby atmos via netflix app even tv is not supported. Mostly new models like 2019 or newer.
If your soundbar has hdmi input for streaming devices like amazon fire tv cube 4k you can get atmos, tv will work for display only.

Many tv don't have dolby digital or atmos but can pass through dolby atmos through hdmi earc. If your soundbar has hdmi earc you can use hdmi 2.1 otherwise hdmi 2.0 will be ok.
Hi Sir, I have a Moto Tv with optical audio output and a Sony Bravia 5.1 Home theatre( bit older). It has only RCA L/R input and One 3.5 mm Audio IN jack. My question: is there a way to hear a 5.1 CH with this setup, using any converter? Or of whether the converter converts to L/R or a 3.5mm jack, the sound will only remain STEREO and the Dobly DTS (which both TV and home theater support) will be lost?
there are some converter on amazon that converts optical to rca or 3.5 mm audio jack but 5.1 channel is not supported.

Yes , convertors is an option, but not fully safe on voltage ⚡ fluctuations. I lost my Blu Ray player and tv mother board due a faulty converter used.
@Mayur Ji, connecting cables will be safe option. Plus 3.5 mm - aux cable too wil be good choice too .. if interference can be avoided

In the tv sound settings please check that default sound output is selected as optical, also check in sound bar correct audio source is selected.
Generally optical cable works well compared to hdmi arc in some tv models.

Via optical cable we can control tv volume or not
from optical cable home theatre and tv are not sync as like hdmi arc. You can use universal remote feature to control home theatre volume from tv remote.

Without hdmi arc you can't connect TV to soundbar, using optical port you can connect soundbar to tv. There is no change in set top box and android box.

I think jio stb not support 5.1 channels for ott apps. However you can check audio out settings of stb by changing dolby digital and play any 5.1 channels movie song in prime or netflix

hdmi earc is backward compatible with HDMI ARC, if you want to connect hdmi arc sound system than hdmi 1.4 version is enough.
For dolby atmos sound system with hdmi earc you need hdmi 2.1 cable.

Disable hdmi cec in tv settings, unplug all the hdmi cables from tv, now connect only soundbar with hdmi arc port using hdmi cable. In tv sound settings select sound output as hdmi.

How to connect optical cabel from Jio set top box to soundbar.
You can connect optical cable from jio stb to soundbar optical port, in stb settings choose sound output as option.
Connect stb to tv using hdmi cable. In this case you can not get tv sound into soundbar only jio stb sound on tv.

Optical to RCA converter ka issue lag raha hai, woofer me koi aur port nahi hai kya jaise hdmi arc aur optical.
You need to test your converter by connecting another speaker aur soundbar to check what is the issue.

So if i have one hdmi of set top box connected to tv and one hdmi from soundbar connected to hdmi ARC port of tv so total 2 hdmi connected. Now if i watch tv from tata sky the audio will come through tv speakers or soundbar. Looking forward to hear from you sir.
inside tv there is option what is the default sound output, you can set soundbar.
For dolby atmos hdmi earc is required for dolby digital 5.1 channel hdmi arc is enough.

You can test soundbar using aux or bluetooth. If sound is ok, than try with optical cable.

connect hdmi eARC port of tv with hdmi arc port of sound bar using hdmi cable. In the soundbar select input mode as hdmi arc not optical. some times there are issues with connecting hdmi arc, you need to remove all the cables from tv than connect hdmi arc cable with hdmi arc port of tv to home theatre.
Now restart tv and than home theatre.

Thanks, I connected Airtel xstream box with sound bar using optical but it does not produce sound in default setting. I had to change in android setting under sound to None: Never use surround sound. Does this means I can not listen to surround sound? Also in Bluetooth option the sound coming from satellite speakers does not feel like surround sound but like normal sound coming from centre speakers? Please can you guide.

Check that TV and Home theater both have 5.1 channel support. Also check HDMI cable is 1.4 version or higher. You can also check home theatre settings if 5.1 channel to be enabled.

you can connect hard disk to usb ports of smart tv or android box. But desktop hdd is large and will take more power so i doubt it will function properly also you need special adapter that require power and sata to usb connctor. For laptop hdd and ssd it is easier to connect to browse video and photos with some hdd enclosure like this one
