you know what I liked about her in season 3 is that she learned and adapted so much after their defeat from Team Azula. She moves like she's incorporated Ty Lee's moves to her own style of fighting

The writers have confirmed that this is in reference to the fact that yes, Sokka did indeed get "lei'd" that night. Geniuses, these guys. The whole lot of them.

Sokka and Suki are an oddity in animation because they're a healthy relationship without drama involving betrayal and lies; most relationships in animation have some drama about break-ups over lies or cheating, but Suki and Sokka stay loyal to each other and communicate whenever they're together. Holy shit, ATLA never stops being the exception to the rule, and that's why it's the best.
It's sad that they don't acknowledge Suki as an official part of Team Avatar although she also played an important role in preventing the Fire Nation's world invasion

It'd be so funny if because Sokka drew Suki firebending, in the distant future, historians would find the drawing and misinterpret Suki as a firebender AND a Kyoshi warrior.
I think the kiyoshi uniform is more for defense for them, it would usually be good, but against Ty Lee it was no contest as her pin point attacks exposed any weak areas.
When one thinks about it, standard issue Kyoshi armor is good but somewhat outdated due to the Islanders' isolationism and outsiders probably having updated their arsenal.
She is adored by many fans despite the fact that she doesn't have same amount of screen time as other main characters says a lot of things about her character and how much likeable she is. Imagine if we know her backstory and she has same amount of screen time as other team avatar characters
We actually see her backstory in the Suki Alone comic which Is canon. She’s my favorite member of team avatar and she’s even confirmed to be one of the members in the new team avatar movie. You can look up the cast.
What I love most about her is that she's a badass warrior whose also a sweet girl. She's isn't those types of girl who look down on men. I love her character as a whole.

Her Kyoshi uniform really held her back. It is not just her. In the comics, Ty Lee even stated that the uniform is too worm and impractical.
Only Kyoshi could handle it since she was strong and tall.

I think it was too heavy for her. She is more agile in season 3, and that is the only season where she fights without that armor.

Suki really is the only guest character who can join the main squad at the last minute and still pull it off as a team member.
In the Legend of Korra intro, Suki was in the painting as one of the 6 heroes (team Aang) who ended the hundred-year war.

Nah, she'd be much better suited as an airbender.
She's be deadly as an earthbender if the retains all her non-bending skills coming close second to Toph.
And her fighting style is heavily influenced by Kyoshi herself and one of the top-tier characters in ATLA when it comes to defense.
