*Shout rally faster!* We've got to keep the earnings numbers up for the financial markets!!!
If Ford made an electric blender, I wouldn't touch it. Plus, I wouldn't be able to afford the $12K dealer markups.
Ford and GM back in the day did make home appliances. Frigidaire was owned by GM (people shortened the word and say "Fridge" to this day. Ford had Philco Ford.
Lol!
You just keep buying youre Chinese products mate 👍 Someone has to keep them going
People can’t afford these expensive vehicles
I’m sure they will have pretty much a lawnmower for sale for 30k in two years. Don’t expect anything reasonable.
Sure they can. They just take out 96 month loans and drive up prices for us responsible buyers who pay cash.
@@NerdlySquared Some are already over 12k
@@bcjammer87buying a new car is stupid anyways whether u pay cash or finance! You loose 1/4th value as soon as u drive it home and it keeps going down from there!! 😂
A base model Maverick is $25k. But people would rather have a $60k SUV. That's the main problem: CONSUMER DECISIONS ARE POOR.
Ford originally advertised the Ford F-150 lightning at $40k and it was a complete lie and now starts at $63k
All liars go to hell per the Bible.
The way it's going re vehicles, we'll be back to horses again. We should all practice saying, "giddy up." 😊

I've done that too gotten rid of cars I wish I still had. Now I'm just going to keep my van and my 2 Chevy pickup trucks that are over 50 years old.
And you can live in it so that’s a plus.
Could you imagine what the quality of a $30 grand Ford will be 🤣🤣🤣
30K for the car but 25K for the battery an installation of it.
It's sad how Ford turned into a joke.
Just about all American manufacturing is a joke.
They have really went down hill in reliability.
Just like general motors..
People love jokes, so try that again please
Ford has competition from KIA! LOL
Bought a truck in 1999 new. Just didn’t have the time to fix up a used, more less the time to wait while looking fo what I wanted. Sold it this year. I guess it worked out. 25 years and 340,000 miles. I got all I could get out of it. If you want to buy new and have your reasons, there is nothing wrong with it. It averaged $100 a month to buy it. Made a lot more money than that using it.
30K in two and a half years would be like selling a car for 17K today.
It's either not going to happen, or it is going to be made by Mattel or Tonka
‘Mattel’ 😂. ; and/or Fisher Price?! 😊
I don't believe Farley on this, and I don't believe Toyota rumors about the "$20k Stout". I don't even think Toyota will introduce a smaller pickup in N. America.
Tonka? I'd buy that in a split second.
@@NVRAMboi
Agreed…which will be their loss.
Can you imagine an inexpensive, cheap yet reliable fairly bare-bones truck being offered to the American market? Not only would ALL KINDS of people and or companies would buy them, but the aftermarket would jump on it just like the 90’s-2000’s Honda’s did in the beginning!

Didn’t some American manufacturer offer a Tonka edition truck in the recent past?

That 100k bronco flop really had them question everything
You talking about the Bronco Raptor?
@@bobsacamano6402 Sounds like it at that price point. Although the earliest of the "new" retro Broncos were only available in limited quantities for a time, allowing dealers to slap insane "market adjustments" on most of them.
The electric F-150 is over $100,000. WTFO?
It's a pos and it is overpriced.
100k for a slightly more reliable jeep wrangler 😂
If a lady makes 400k a year, why is she making payments?
Listening to the Dave Ramsey show you'd be surprised how many people make 6-figures and are completely broke.
Probably has high house payments and high vacation home payments and spends thousands on clothes every month
Same thought occurred to me. My conclusion was/is that's she's not very bright.
Sometimes the more money you make the more you spend. Usually foolishly.
maybe she uses her credit card to make payments and keep her credit score high.
They had great little cars like the focus ST and the Fiesta ST, but they killed them off to build only trucks and SUVs.
And fusion too
I love my little Focus ST
Ford were making a killing on high end pick-ups until they (and dealer mark ups) pushed the price too high. They announced they were halting ‘small car’ production and people turned away.
Perfect timing. This is why they pay those guys the big bucks.
In have a fiesta ST for sale 2014 molting orange. Haven’t listed it yet but I’m sure it will sale quickly.
Scotty, pure liquid NH3 boils at -33C. The liquid that you refer to is likely an aqueous solution of ammonium hydroxide - NH3 is water soluble with a maximum strength of ca 30%. Pure liquid ammonia would need to a pressurized (properly rated) tank. Further, a leak of NH3 has a powerful odor and is flammable. NH3 is not a panacea. The 30% aqueous solution can be a source of NH3, but would need to be headed and/or have a vacuum applied to free the NH3 gas. That would not be very effective.
Ford's hybrid Escape and Fusion vehicles provided a solid foundation upon which to build an entire lineup of hybrid models, but Jim Farley decided to go all-in on EV. dumb.
It’s not the insurance companies fault people buy cars with zero down and finance it for 7 year and wreck it. You will never get out from under a car in this situation.
There are quite a few "adults" who want to blame everyone else for the problems they created for themselves.
Under the car??? They keep pushing us under the bus
Stupid people make stupid choices, and everyone is paying for their consequences
My father taught me long ago (back in the 1980’s) never to finance a car more than 3 years. He always said, “if you can’t buy it in three years you have no business buying that car.” I’ve never broken that rule.
@@deepcow Car loan debt is one of the worst things people can do to themselves, financially. Your dad is a smart man. I just bought a new Tacoma last year and got in an (not at fault) accident, if it gets totaled for whatever reason, I have no loan, so it sucks, but not that bad.
My wife -- Bless her heart! -- wanted to buy a new car, despite owning a perfectly good 2019 Corolla, which she also purchased new.
She came home with a new 2023 Camry. I asked her how much it cost, and she was evasive. I eventually found the paperwork, did the math, and discovered that, over the course of the contract, this Camry was going to cost us over $70,000!
I will never again allow her to leave the house alone.
At least she bought another Toyota. Although, yes, she should have just kept the Corolla. That car will give you 500,000 miles simply by keeping up with routine maintenance.
True, at least. At least! She got a Toyota lol ugh that price hurts though
Sorry that you have such a poor marriage. She should have discussed it with you first.

I’m waiting for the car industry to determine they are going to start manufacturing what the consumer wants and needs: A combustion engine with a drive train that will last at least 500,000 miles minimum, under $30,000
Not possible, too many moving parts. Tesla's are lasting this long easy.
Not possible? So the 90's S10s and Rangers where built last week?
Scotty
We have owned BMWs since 2006, we bought the first two X5s new, drove them hard for 13yrs and sold them in good, rust free condition. NO MAJOR REPAIRS!
We are now on our second pair since 2018, running perfectly and NO MAJOR EXPENSES!
What about an under 30k ICE SEDAN? You know ... the CAR that most of us need.
They're out there - new. Toyota, Honda, Subaru and Mazda all have good vehicles in that segment. ("good" meaning, vehicles that I'd personally buy/own.) Mid-20's. It can be done pretty easily.
"The car that most of us need" except literally nobody was buying sedans from the big 3. The whole reason they were all discontinued is because of lack of interest from the majority of customers.
Yes, they're out there, but they're not being produced by the former big three. The Toyota Corolla is the best selling ice car in the world, affordable and ultra reliable and that's why I bought one about 2 weeks ago. Ford, Chevy and Chrysler don't build anything that qualifies as an affordable, reliable sedan car. Maybe that will change in the future but for right now they're pushing pickups, SUVs and electric cars that I don't want or need.
Hey ill take 30 grand for my ,2000 corolla .only 324 thousand .no low balls .i know what i got !👍
Need Alan Mulally back as ceo to really bring Ford back. The Taurus, Flex needs to return too.

If Ford wants to get customers to buy smaller vehicles they need to release the Ford Rangers. You can’t find them on dealership lots to save your life.
This exactly
A simple, low tech 2025 Ranger for 20k would be cool
The Ranger is available
@@tyler1673dot mandates won’t allow that
@@tyler1673 Not happening guys. Sure, there are a few Ranger XL trims/models out there with list/ask of mid-high 20's, but that's it. Worse yet, all of the Rangers are 4-banger w/turbo except for the Raptor, which has a V6 turbo and an "MSRP starting at $57,000". None of this indicates simplifying/lowering costs/increasing reliability/durability.
I would just love to see Ford make a quality vehicle again
I’m a Ford technician and I agree with you.
The used to have some good engines. Now they are crap.
That ship sank fifty years ago...... 🙄
Ford hasnt made a good vehicle since they discontinued the 302 in 2001. I loved their 90s f150s with the 302.
Ford needs to bring back the cars that were popular such as the fusion and focus and for the older crowd the crown Vic. what needs to be done then is to eliminate the EPA Cafe standards. Ford can then bring back the Ford courier. Guaranteed it would sell like crazy. The reason they eliminated them was because the fuel mileage exceeded the cafe standards. Because of its wheelbase it could not fall into the truck category. That is the same reason why Toyota, Nissan / Datsun the Chevy LUV and Ford courier were discontinued. As a result we got the mid-size such as the ranger but they have grown almost to the size of the full size back in the 80s. My 2023 Nissan frontier four-door is the same length as my 92 f250 regular cab with an 8 ft box. Correction the front bumper makes the F-250 5 inches longer because it sticks out from the grille. It blew my mind.
A $30k Ford EV will be realistically $50k
Yup, the F-150 Lightning was supposed to be $40k and now it's $63k starting
Maverick was supposed to be low-20's. Reality: Most of them are mid-30's up to 40k. LIE TO ME FORD, PLEASE.
The Pic in the background told it all, a $30,000 golf cart is overpriced and old technology.
That is just with taxes lol. Here in our area, equinox EV is the price of blazer EV
@@blackgold754 *Dealership markups
Ammonia is a gas at room temperature and regular pressure. It does become a liquid at relatively low pressures though, which is why it is used as a refrigerant. This makes it easier to handle and a better fuel option because it could be stored as a liquid and pumped as a liquid. Ammonia also avoids the metal embrittlement problem of hydrogen. “Ammonia” that is liquid at room temperature and standard pressure is actually ammonium hydroxide, an ammonia-water solution, and is only about 28% ammonia which would not be sufficiently energy-dense as a fuel.
The best way to maintain your car is using the right tools. I love Scotty's word. Specially for a BMW with manual transmission.
Hey ford ceo listen up no one wants your EV 💩 boxes okay. Focus on making solid gasoline engine vehicles okay 👍🏼.
they did that already and Honda, Toyota, and Toyota are their lunch. Ford painted itself into a corner and their tonedeaf CEO seems unable to lead them effectively.
I don't care if it's FREE !
It doesn't matter because sometimes I/we drive 2-3 days at a time and stopping for any amount of time to recharge some POS with a 300 mile range is out of the question.
I would love an actual midsize / smaller truck. Unfortunately not even Toyota wants to make those anymore. The new midsize trucks are the same size as full-size trucks from 20 years ago.
I want a smaller / practical, but still good looking vehicle. Modern manufacturers have basically 'forced' me to seriously consider classic/vintage vehicles.
Scotty I have a 2011 Sienna 215k miles 3.5v6; valve cover gasket job proved engine is sparkling clean… family wants it gone. Ug. Runs perfect.
Where do you reside?
Ford is counterintuitive to GM who ditched their small electric car line that was just under $30000! Nobody in "American" car manufactors has a clue. How is the Ford CEO still in charge, anyway. God help me as I'm driving a 2021 Ford Ranger 😢!
You can get a good deal on a new car. The last 6 new vehicles I bought I got for 29, 20, 25, 24, 30, and 22 percent below MSRP. They were all good vehicles with no problems other than normal recalls. Most of the time I wasn't looking for a new vehicle, but I saw a deal I couldn't pass up. The last one being a nicely equipped Ford F150. It's one of the fastest and most comfortable vehicle that I have owned.
Nice to see Scotty doing informative fact based videos again. This one is more like what I would have expected from his channel.
Got a Toyota 2023 bz4x limited 4wd for $30k w 5k miles. Best car I've ever owned.
I'm still driving a 25 years old Toyota Hilux a couple of times a week. Other vehicles have come and gone but nothing ever breaks on the Toyota that I bought in 2001 because I needed a truck for a couple of years and there has just never been a good reason for getting rid of it.
I looked at a Toyota tacoma. I wanted the V6 so I found one pretty basic with the six cylinder automatic, with cloth seats and a dealer added remote start and a cover over the box. They also added new tires. They wanted $40000. Then I went across the street to Nissan and looked at a 2023 frontier with a V6 and a 9 speed automatic but it also had heated seats leather interior sunroof backup and cross-traffic alert adaptive speed control and Lane alert. It also had a rear box cover and the premium sound system. The V6 has 20 more horsepower than the Toyotas it is basically the pro series without the locking rear axle and the speed monitor in the gauge cluster which checks the speed I'm guessing with Google maps both vehicles had 34,000 mi on them. The Nissan was $3,000 less. With that extra money I ended up buying a 150,000 mi. lifetime extended warranty. I am too old to be altering the suspension and wheels and tires and I will never reach that mileage before I am long past. But I figured the warranty will just help resell it because it is transferable. But even that said I got more truck for the same price because I wasn't buying a Toyota.
Those cars are so desirable that neither Toyota or Subaru has had any luck in selling them.
@@davidclemens1578I bought a new Frontier Pro 4x in 2022, when the car market was crazy. It was 10 grand cheaper than all the similar models from other makers. So far, it’s been my favorite vehicle I’ve ever owned.
Isn't that the one Toyota model nobody wants and for good reason
Ford says they will make cars for 30k Toyota and Mazda says they'll make a car for 10 to 15k. Then the Kia will make one for 75 hundred and of course the Chinese will announce they're making cars 24.95 ... I'm waiting for my certificate for my free car for buying a box of Froot Loop cereal. I'll believe it when I actually see the cars for sale for these actual prices in the USA

I work in the KCAP plant where we make F150s and transit vans. A van is average 65k. But I'll always get the Raptor R of course 😎
Sounds like we gonna get supper charged golf carts for $30k
Called the Ford Focus.
Love your video’s Scotty, main reason is are not afraid to say it like it is regardless of the power of the manufacturing industrial complex. Keep it real and honest as someone needs to. Cheers.
Yes we would have $30k cars! Unfortunately, that is the base trim and the only ones in stock is the XLTWTFBBQ trim which starts at $60k! - Farley prolly
I'd really like to see a serious analysis on how much a car actually COSTS not including the director's massive expenses, just the actual cost of putting a car together, from tooling to rubber.
the guy who only got 20k for his car and was left 6k in the hole didnt get gap coverage. its his own fault.
Hope he will deliver his promise. Ford Fiesta and Ford Ka revival is a must.
I bought a used Toyota RAV4 for 30,000 Canadian with 86,000 km. I’ve had it for three years. I got three more years to pay it off right now. It’s at 106,000 once it’s paid off it will still have many years to go I love Toyota.
From the CDC:
“Ammonia is also found in many household and industrial cleaners. High levels of ammonia can irritate and burn the skin, mouth, throat, lungs, and eyes. Very high levels of ammonia can damage the lungs or cause death. Workers may be harmed from exposure to ammonia.”
Yes it is easier to transport. We need to move away from hazardous chemicals.
I don’t know what the solution actually is as batteries are full of hazardous materials too.
Hydrogen is the best form of energy but as you’ve said it is volatile.
Nio has a car coming out in September 2024. The car price is 30,500.00. The car is called Onvo. You can charge it or swap the battery. The US President doesn't want Chinese cars in America.
I was a Ford man for my whole life. I had a problem and needed quick cheap transport. Bought a cheap Toyota. The other new Ford in the family rusted out, and fell apart. Still driving the cheap beater Toyota without issue 14 years later.
I still drive my 97 Blazer. I call it Frankenstein because of all the electronic jumpers. I don’t have to worry about it in a parking lot like my new car. I even keep a screwdriver in the door pocket to tap the driver window motor when it stops on occasion. I’m sooo cheap! I can’t get rid of it because all the major wear items I get free from lifetime warranty’s, brake pads and shoes, wiper motor, fuel pump, water pump, radiator, alternator, even brake wheel cylinder’s. It’s just a baby at 443,000.
Scotty - talk about how most of Ford's customers are *rolling over negative equity* when acquiring their next new car! I heard that when I was paying for my Toyota Camry 9 years ago (133,400 miles and I still love it and my oldest son wants it bad...for free....naturally...)
There will never be a quality vehicle made with the problem that comes with electronics. Just make a simple vehicle and be done with it. 🎉
Car insurance is “actual cash value”, not “pay off what I owe”… If they bought the car new, a good insurance agent (or the dealership) should’ve offered gap coverage, pays the difference owed to what it’s worth. If they declined it, that’s their own fault. Also, never accept gap coverage from the dealership, I can almost guarantee you can get it cheaper through your car insurance.
They might be on something… Smaller cars means that they can probably have higher range, and if they don’t put as much technology in it as a Tesla, they probably can make it much cheaper.
I have bought new and have learned to buy used but either way, I drive them until the wheels fall off. It's great to not have a car payment.
Scotty, I want to get another truck but I’m not sure how the 2024 LTZ build quality is any more so I was looking at a 21 Tundra TRD Pro. They are very expensive still used. What’s your advice. I don’t like how the auto world is going towards the smaller engines with turbos. Sounds like a headache.
Insurance is there to cover a major financial loss. It's not there to make renting a car easy. Read the policy. I had an accident and they only paid $900 for a rental. Lucky I had a second car to drive.
That is pretty funny. Maybe golf carts reimagined. Transmissions will still be bad.
My son bought a 2018 Honda Accord the non turbo from a private seller in Murfreesboro Tennessee he should have took it back the same day. The check engine light came on then it started missing a little. The guy he bought it from had his mechanic check it out he said it was the coil pack change that out the next day it was still doing it took it back up there so then they said it was the fuel injectors the guy ordered fuel injectors. Took forever to get them install them. Less than 2 weeks later check engine light back on again took it to the Honda dealership in Franklin Darrell Waltrip. Charged him $235 to do a diagnostic. They said he had a bad spark plug. They told him that was the only problem with the car he paid around $1,000 bucks for the tune-up 2 weeks later car has no power when you get over 20 mph, he called Dale Waltrip dealership they was going to charge him another $235 diagnostic fee they said it could be the fuel pump going bad because it's a recall on them but they would not have any in until this fall so he's just wasted a lot of money plus the towing fee from Columbia Tennessee up to Franklin he basically has almost a new car he cannot drive and he cannot take it back to the guy now
We used to have ammonia based A/C units at residential units, but they concluded It was dangerous to the environment. it was cheap to run and easy to maintain.
One can never say. Perhaps a 30 Grand electric vehicle mass produced can be a great success.
Find a good car & pay cash for it. No loan for something that is not fancy. Sure, my '06 MDX was 6+ timing belt... but why full coverage? Save the money, do your oil & filters & it will last. This is so true all the dealer mark ups I say buy a used high mile car for 3 or 4 thousand and if you get 2 years out of it your doing good.
I’m going to continue buying used Lexus’s . Best cars hands down. At least for me 😊
I've always liked that idea myself. Then I stop and realize what part costs could be (ie: parts that are NOT interchangable w/less expensive Toyota parts).
We don’t want EV’s lol
When I was young we used to joke that Ford stood for Fix Or Repair Daily. They got better for a few decades. But now it stands for Fu*ked On a Raw Deal.
The only Ford I want is the 2001 F150 I already bought for less than 10% of a current base model (if you can even find a naked base model)
There is one major problem that hydrogen and ammonia share: Where are they going to come from? How much oil must be used in order to produce them? Remember, the more steps in a process the more energy is lost. That is the nature of thermodynamics.
Stop confusing the issues with facts! 😉
Yup 👍. Same reason ‘everyone’ thinks they are saving the planet with an E.V….
No one thinks about what infrastructure it takes to make/build/supply/dispose of the batteries and the effects on the environment. They just don’t see anything coming out the tailpipe, so obviously they are saving society and planet.
@@MrPoppyDuck My apologies, but I simply cannot resist that particular temptation.
I was gonna trade in my Model T but I decided to keep it for another 100 years. Only 4 million miles and runs like new and I can fix it myself.
I wonder how much it would take Ford today to make 1969 Mustangs with a 428 COBRA Jet ? Fully loaded as much as possible in 1969 and same specs?
I would be happy with a 351 windsor or cleveland in it. 😊
Ammonia has a boiling point of -28 degrees F, so it must be transported in a refrigerated and/or pressurized tanker. However the pressure at say 70 degrees is not as high as hydrogen. I will let you do the math using the idea gas law, P = nRT/V. A leak with either is very dangerous.
I don’t own a Ford, but Scotty, please give Ford a chance...at least they are hearing the public -- they are trying to do what the people need -- a cheaper car!!
"they will need Henry Ford himself" 😂😂😂savage scotty
I miss when Ford actually made a good product. I'll always love their 80's and 90's vehicles.
It’s crazy because ford is a the top seller in the auto industry but nobody ever sat down and realized yeah they have the f150 that sales the most but they also sale a lot of explorers and tauruses and you know why because all the cops cars are those
Sorry but liquid ammonia boils at -28F. Also super dangerous.
Well I mean how much more dangerous is it then a car with LPG or a standard gas car? I mean sure it is toxic, but it is much more friendly to the environment then a leak of gasoline or diesel. It does release toxic gases but so does gasoline, just less. I mean it really aint that bad, plus anyone who has smelt concentrated ammonia, knows that no one will want to stick around enough to actually get poisoned from it. Only scenario I see where someone dies from it is if they are stuck with it. But even then, there are even more dangerous things in a car, SUCH AS THE DIFFERENCE IN SPEED that your body takes during a crash hard enough to cause a bad leak.
@@baseder514 than*
@@PANZERFAUST90oh great grammar police out tonight!
@@baseder514, it's relatively the same. LPG makes more sense.

It’s cheaper to buy a $3000-$4000 car once a year than it is to have a car payment on a modern car/truck.
What about buick enclaves 2010 what do you think of those suvs, are they good, bad or alright to have? Or should i sell that thing?
The Ford CEO's comment sounds like history repeating. Big vehicles become popular -> economy sucks and gas is expensive -> small vehicles become popular -> economy gets better -> repeat.
All these alternate fuel vehicles are going to require oil and gas to make these fuels. So using one fuel to make another is more political than practicable.
Ammonia can be made greener with GMO algae and it can be extracted from urine 👍

Have you ever been around Liquid Ammonia? The fumes are VERY toxic.
The 30k ev already exists its called the chevy bolt ev/euv and chevy killed it so they can make giant monster truck evs that cost 50k to start lol
Ford makes good on issues their customers have with their cars. Toyota? They won't even honor their warranty on their most expensive model, the Landcruiser, with their ongoing issue of water intrusion and corrosion in the sunroof wiring harness. Ask Ben Hardy about that.
Daughter totaled are odessey, I still owed $1,500 after insurance payout 😂. Insurance is the 3rd biggest scam next to health insurance and military budget
The lady that bought a Tesla wouldn't make valedictorian if she was homeschooled
EV's will never be mainstream mid to long distance travelling vehicles, people won't put up with it especially when you have a family to contend with.
I just got a 02 Toyota 4runner 3.4 235k and paid $4K. It's older, not so best looking, BUT it's a 4runner
Wasn't the Ranger going to be about $20,000?
Ammonia is not a liquid in atmospheric pressure at room temperature. At 75° ammonia liquefies at 115 psi. At atmospheric pressure it will liquefy at 28° below zero. Which still makes it vastly easier to transport and store than hydrogen.
Isn't ammonia toxic though? How exactly is it Zero emissions???
Ford should stick to hd trucks as it's what their good at they can convert the diesels to natural gas & propane for emissions & can be done at a much lower cost than hydrogen or batteries
Great Video Scotty as usual, Texas needs you man :) Thanks your videos have really helped thousands of people in many ways, how to repair, how to test, how not to buy a piece of chit lol Keep em coming ❤💯🙏
Always buy GAP insurance if you're buying a new car and have to finance it.
Could’ve kept the fiesta and focus and offered an EV version of both, but I get the feeling their new EV is gonna be the Fusion and still won’t make it 100 miles on a full charge
