Tom Joseph passed away in 2010. His marriage lasted for 53 years -- all the way until death. Blessings to him and loved ones.
That's nice to hear.
So, she might have been attracted to his $$$ but they stayed together for love. Pretty cool. Thanks for the information about Mr. Joseph.
The panel really bombed out. Contestant #1 in the first game and #3 in the 2nd game were outstanding. Thanks for the video.
Redd Evans (July 6, 1912 - August 29, 1972) was a lyricist whose songs have been recorded by Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Doris Day, and many others. He may be best known for "There! I've Said It Again", a song that Bobby Vinton took to the top of the Billboard Hot 100 chart on January 4, 1964; this song was originally sung by David Mann. His other well known compositions include "Don't Go to Strangers", "Rosie the Riveter",[1] and "The Frim-Fram Sauce".
Loved this when I was young. Didn't realize it had been on the air for so long. Long may it continue.
Loved the 3rd contestant's story about Polly in Game 2.
New Jersey governor Harold Hoffmann appeared on the panel two times in early "What's My Line?" in 1950. and -=- surprise! -- he gets mentioned in early TTTT in 1956. Hoffmann was governor from 1935 to 1938.
Already, I can see the running gag with Polly Bergen. When she said "I'm trying to figure out if it is the one I think it is, or the one I'm sure it isn't".
I've found myself pulling Polly-esque shenanigans in re-watching all these episodes- "I'm voting for #2, but I think it's really #3." :)
Vahan Nisanian I love Polly Bergen! She must have been a lot of fun...
The second most annoying person ever on TV, camera hog! same routine. "I wanted too..."
Brett summers!, thats who.
Bern Bennett is the announcer. Bob Shepherd does the Geritol ads.
The game itself is still a little scattered. However, the directors developed a real sense for dramatic camerawork and visuals very early in this program. "What's My Line?"'s visuals are utter bores compared to this program. The camera focuses on that sketch on the curtain; the darkened curtain lifts up; three silhouettes with dramatic backlighting come walking toward the camera; each person gets illuminated from darkness one at a time. It's better than a line-up.
soulierinvestments And the music is great, much better than the WML theme.
TTTT may be just a game show, but it has the best musical scoring of any game show I can think of in that period. I especially like the 1961 scoring.
''To Tell the Truth'' premieres on August 29 on 6-episodes ABC Tony Anderson, Betty White & NeNe Leakes.
MYNA SHELTON passed on the following year. :(

Fun episode.
You know, I thought it would be #1 in Game 1. #1 seemed to know a lot about the differences between misdemeanors and felonies, and Jujitsu and Judo.
***** #1 was so convincing that on the one hand it seemed like she had to be the real one, but on the other hand, I was thinking that if she were the real one she probably wouldn't want to give herself away by acting super-confident like that. I guess my other hand turned out to be right about that! #2 seemed so confused that it seemed like she didn't do a good job of preparation, but I guess since she actually *was* the real one, she didn't have to prepare!
The pace sure was slower then.
Where did they get the contestants for the show?
Am I the only one who thinks that the way they say the name more often than not gives it away as to who the real bearer of the identity is? There is a certain way attained by oneself when saying their name throughout their lifetime that is very hard to disguise, I would think.
Corleone I have had the same idea. The way we say our names are very personal. For myself I have never felt comfortable saying my name, not that I don't like it but I don't like saying it out loud. Never have.
@@Beson-SE I am the same way. Good observation about how we say our names.
I've often thought the same thing. When they hesitate or stumble over pronouncing their name I think "Oh that's not the person."
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
The real Tom Joseph (contestant #2) looked like Bob Haldeman, same hairdo. 21:55
Who????
Lady #2 in Game #1
Man #1 in Game #2

14:10 What are Bud doing?
Johan Bengtsson Either he dropped the affidavit or he had to scratch his ankle.
Patrick Swayze dad ?
A sixth cousin, I believe...
Discustically !!!!
#1 game is terrible
You know its an old show when the answer is Texas voted Democratic in the last election, lol.
But that was a way different Democratic Party back then!
The flip was still taking place!
The nail was 65'
And the first reply knows,( billheben...)
And you should too!
They always stall for time saying they cannot hear. So bogus.
This has to be the same theater that broadcasts "What's My Line?" on Sundays. The acoustics are lousy.
soulierinvestments True, very bad acoustics.
soulierinvestments Yeah, why?
Well --- acoustic science was fairly new then. And besides, the TV audience heard everything clearly. Why spend money upgrading an old theater for the benefit of those on stage?
Huh?
