@@Jeff-xv6gkI have Layton and smelled Oajan in the store. Oajan is very spicy and cinnamonny so it’s not very versatile but it’s actually extremely good for cold weather occasions. Layton is very versatile just a lot of vanilla and apple. It’s good but it’s not very special and unique compared to Oajan.
Althair has an addictive quality to it, that is care free and charasmatic. Oajan is more mature and warming. Some may not like the soapy vibe; it’s overall more polarizing of a scent. Depends on someone’s lifestyle but Althair is simply easier to wear and more mass appealing. Oajan is more serious Hard to decide
I had Haltane, its nice. Smells fresh, then sweet and woody. Genuine high quality woody smell with a combo of sweetness (praline). Very professional and mature smell. Works perfectly well in summer , thanks to its fresh nature smell. I had to sell it thought, because it was way too mature for me. But an excellent fragrance for age 35+
Oajan is literally the only fragrance in my collection that still makes me roll my eyes back in delight every time I smell it without fail. I've sampled Althair and it's nice, but too syrupy sweet for me, almost sickly. I might sample again next autumn or something but to me I struggled with it not going to lie. You're bombed with a combination of orange and vanilla, which I think is a weird combination. The drydown is better though. Between these two though, cannot beat Oajan as it's a masterpiece. Oajan 10/10 Althair 7.5/10
Yeah Oajan is so addictive smelling, I agree with you there. I am enjoying Althair more and more and think it’s works well in the early spring or autumn. Oajan was my first PDM and it’s one of the best!
@@visionaryfragrances reformulated Herod lasts 4 hrs or less..I ve had one before..PDM's are becoming EDT's ..they are wonderful scents..just losing the lasting and projecting power
Yet another good video from yourself....I didn't really think much of ALTHAIR...its ok , but that's about it . But when you consider HABDAN and NISEAN...then your talking .
You hadn't tried hermes ambre narguile before oajan then? i purchased oajan 8 or 9 years ago when i finished my ambre narguile, i didn't see the point having both as they are similar, when my oajan was finished i got Josier ambre tabac which is also very similar
You Said in your Layton Video that Performance of New batches is identical or very similar. Did you Change your opinion on that ? Thanks again for the Video as always
I get like 10-12 hours with reformulation. The old formula had a super strong menthol opening that I hated but I recall the dry down being a richer and deeper (new bottle still smells incredible but...)
I know people say don’t wear oajan year round but if I did would it be terrible?? I’m looking for a signature fragrance and I love the smell of oajan but I don’t want to buy it to be able to use it for only 3 months
you could wear a bit less during summer or go for another 'lighter' vanilla scent during summer like Divine Vanille from essenstail parfums (created by same perfumer as Herod's from PdM)
You can wear what you want and what suits you - however I don’t like wearing Oajan in the summer as I just don’t enjoy thick, sweet fragrances when it’s hot outside
I got a reformulated bottle and i still get 8 hours+ so for me its still good, what i like about the reformulation is that the 'vicks' smell is far less and in my opinion better
@@aaronoldenburger3436 i also have a reformulated 82% bottle even i get decent longevity and medium projection from it and i do not get any vicks vibes from it in the opening ,to me the opening smells like spices and apple hence layton still does the job .
Hermes Ambre Narguilé is by far superior to Oajan... both formulations of Oajan. AN has a perfect balance all the way. Oajan is too syrupy sweet (cloying) in the opening and not as interesting in the drydown. AN fades quicker, but that is easily fixed by a fixed or respraying once in 4 hours... its worth it.
Oajan is definitely one I’d pay full price for
I just purchased oajan and I absolutely love it! It’s my first PDM
What does it smell like to you? Is it better than Layton

I prefer Althair by a lot. It smells impeccable and if heaven had a scent I would call it that. The smell is genuinely addictive.

I do like Haltane too!
I will try a sample of Althair

♥ Haltane! I really enjoy the wood with a touch of sweetness 🥰

Get my Oajan today after returning Greenly which was like absolute water. Oajan is really rich and spicy.

That dry down from oajan is beastly🔥
both of them are beautiful, Parfums de marley niche house beautiful for me Althair better because easier to wear.
Herod is my favorite. But oajan can get the nod
Herod is a winner
Herod is my favorite as well.

I don't know why but I get tobacco in Oajan dry down.
For me it turns a bit boozy in the drydown
Oajon is 🔥🔥🔥!! Similar to Carlisle, but more depth.
Is Oajan powerful in 2024/25? Last year I used Althair and it was great. I read Layton is not what it used to be 🤔

Projection and longevity have suffered for sure. It is not comparable anymore unfortunately

Which fragrances have been reformulated badly by PDM in terms of performance ?does layton still have good performance?
No Layton is one of those that has suffered from the reformulation. Buy older batches on secondary markets imo

They’re both good vanilla scented. I think Oajan just has cherry vanilla dry down with hints of lavender so it does more a projects more
Is Oajan reformulated?

does althair smell like 212 ?
I feel like in terms of smelling expensive, Oajan wins but althair doesn’t fall to far behind.
