Church Announcements: Calling All Saints! In lieu of there being no food on the set of The Color Purple, we are starting our own Food Pantry and Community Kitchen. We ask that all donations be non-perishable items. Such as canned goods, rice, cereal, etc. And please, no ‘pizza in a bag.’ Sister Mo’Nique said she will spearhead the program-but only after she ask her Daddy. 👏🏽

I have to disagree with the Antoinette Bonnie Candia-Bailey issue respectfully. Workplace bullying definitely takes a toll on you, I recently went through this in higher education. It's not that easy to just go somewhere else and find a job. A black woman working in a senior level position even a mid senior level posted is very hard to come by and can be difficult to work in, especially in high education. Some people especially other race definitely do not like to see an educated black woman in higher positions, no matter if it's a pwi or hbcu.

Work place bullying is a real thing and not everyone has the luxury of just walking away. Especially if you have a family and kids. I've heard from several people that higher education especially with a PWI is not for the faint of heart. It's a lot of nice nasty, passive and micro agressions going on.

I also worked in higher education in the accounting department under business services and the level of disrespect from the higher ups was ridiculous. I witnessed multiple people have emotional breakdowns because of the stress they were under and was also one of them. I'm a tough cookie to crack, but that job broke me a little. I eventually left to work at a lower-paying non-profit organization, but when I tell you the work environment is so much better and uplifting/ encouraging, it made it worth it. I LOVED my job in higher education, but people quit bad management, not bad jobs.

Hello Funky Dineva. I absolutely adore you and your platform. I have silently watched you for years, never commenting. You made comments about adult bullying. I am 65 years 11 months of age. I was bullied for almost 8 months at a job before I was wrongfully let go. I stayed that long because at my age, it was so hard to find employment after the pandemic. I would have stayed longer had they kept me. After 2 months, they realized they were wrong and requested I return. By that time I had re-evaluated the situation and decided it was not good for my mental peace. Sometimes leaving is easier said than done.

Black woman in academia here 🙋🏿‍♀️ most of us in the field dont see is as just a "job". Our whole identities end up being tied up in the work we do because we end up advocating not just for ourselves, but for our Black students who end up depending on us for A LOT (sometimes just seeing us being in that space is the reason why they don't quit and drop out). Education is a space it is VERY hard to have a cognitive dissonance cuz you are ALWAYS learning and unlearning and relearning and that impacts you on a personal level. So I'm not surprised that Dr. Antoinette did not leave. & her story unfortunately happens a lot more often in this space.

No sir! The conversation regarding pay and Taraji, we understand her and we agree with her. Like Viola said, pay her what she is worth.
Taraji got them trailers and food and the other girls told about those things.

Didn't Taraji get a contract beforehand? She read it, accepted everything and signed on the dotted line. Why all these complaints and tears afterwards. If she wasn't happy with the pay and conditions, she could have walked away from the project. I don't get it

I partially agree about the bullying. In certain social spaces, you can find yourself being “bullied” before you know it’s even happening. I’ve seen it happen to others who stay because they really need the job/money. S*xual harassment is a form of bullying.

I agree, but I do not other hand, no amount of pay is worth me coming to work and leaving feeling like I literally don’t wanna be on this earth anymore. I also have safety nets so my opinion is from a privileged standpoint. And the workplace should have HR, that sounds like a full lawsuit!!

So maybe the bigger conversation here is around Working Adults choosing to stay in unhealthy work “relationships” at the risk of depression and/or sexual assault. Why? How?
OAN~ I will say I respect this new generation (who are they Gen Z??) they are absolutely NOT staying in job positions that don’t value them!! Idk when this workplace bullying started happening or with what generation , but tolerating abuse and mistreatment in the workplace out of fear for money/career is sad. ☕️💔

P.S. don't be that friend who tell ppl or throw it around that ur covering the expense.

52:41 I think for me if you replace the word “bully” with “harassment” it might make more sense. I also think at time adults have less options when it comes to harassment/bullying/work place mistreatment because they have more responsibilities that have influence over their decisions

"Brickhouse" is an old school term to describe a shapely woman. Dare I say a woman with the ideal body proportions. So the transwomen and women are all striving to achieve this ideal body. Transwomen didn't wake up one day and create that body type. They saw a woman ("a brickhouse") and decided that's what they too wanted to look like.

It’s easy for you (who had a SUCCESSFUL UA-cam CHANNEL to return to) to say that someone to leave. However, finding another job that if offering THE EXACT SAME SALARY, BENEFITS, etc. isn’t that easy.
