We are all striving to be special and unique that we got to a point where we despise being ordinary. We forgot how fulfilling is just simply living your life, we underestimate kindness and overestimate grinding. We've got so hung up on everything material that we don't have the time to show love to our close ones.
We want to forget the fact that sooner or later our time on this earth comes to an end and we won't take anything with us except our struggles and those spare moments of happiness.

This song rips my heart out every time. Listen to the anguish in those final plaintive notes. Despite all, the ego continues to struggle to the last. Acceptance of the ordinary path is humbling and often painful. However much we would like it to be an enlightenment, it is more often a defeat.
This is a masterful, perfectly nuanced performance. Hua Chenyu's calm, impeccably centred physical presence mesmerizes us. It gently tugs at us and pulls us into his orbit so that we too aspire towards self understanding. We are thrilled by that elegant submission to the heavens, with arms and microphone (his very voice) earnestly held aloft. But suddenly we are pulled into a whole other dimension of pain and grief as those utterly sad, plaintive notes escape from his very core. There is no victory over self here. Only defeat. Heartbreaking.
This man is a genius. He transformed the original, popular lightweight song into a powerful anthem of human frailty and inner conflict.

I can tell you I had a very serious unexpected surgery and had to become detached from “things” and the Chinese Language is very philosophical when translated to English.
On The Singer 2018 Hua did songs in a specific order that was about life and the direction we choose. (He does not write the lyrics, he does have a lyricist who conveys what he wants to say.)
Please do more Hua from The Singer 2018 and 2020....I did send some links in an email a while back and they must have gotten lost in all your requests.
There is only One Hua Chenyu and he is like no other, he is kind, humble and always wants you to be the best “you”. This song like many others, just hits my soul. Thank you again!

I love your analyzis so much i hate to tell you the lyrics must be credited to the original singer/songwriter Pu Shu. But that doesnt take anything away from this performance. Its beautiful and true. Hcy added the high angelic notes and the spiritual elements tho. Pu Shu is a poet indeed, and hcy choose to adopt this song for a reason.

I've really come to love your reactions and hearing your thoughts. Personally I've walked away from a couple of relationships with men who could give me any "things" I could have wanted but I've never been more happy than I am right now, living in a tiny home in a redwood forest near the ocean surrounded by trees and animals. No artist speaks to me the way Hua Hua does (btw, I'm sure he wouldn't care and ETs certainly don't but, just fyi...Hua has only 1 syllable - like Hwa). He's mentioned that he meditates and he spends most of his time alone and is very thoughtful. Some of his interviews are very interesting. Again, thanks for your reaction!

Always look forward to your reaction and comments on Hua Hua. Hua is meticulous in choosing songs to cover that have deep meanings to him personally. Even when composing his own songs, lyrics are very important to convey the feelings he wants. That's why he can emit those feelings into the songs when he performs. Your analysis just opens our minds even wider for people like me who may not always get the deeper meanings.

Still my favorite of Hua Chenyu. And I love the original by Pu Shu. Sometimes I listen to it on repeat for an hour. There is a YT video for that. The two versions are different and both beautiful. Thank you for your interest in HuaHua since I believe he is the very best. His singing feeds my soul and his timbre of sound is totally mesmerizing. Love his mentoring of young singers on The Next and his humor on Ace vs Ace.

His emotions and soul are readily reflected in his music and performance. This is who he is.
