Great explanation as always man. Thanks for showcasing the updates, really made it clear with showing the iCUE part. Despite it being a good looking piece of software, apart from NGenuity it's probably my least favorite game peripherals software.
@@Hayboye It's not very user friendly and has stuff that's just useless bloat (like the system resources widgets). When I compare it to what the likes f Roccat, Logitech G-Hub and Cooler Master do, iit's just vastly inferior. I just bought the wireless a week ago. The plastic on the ear cuffs scratch just looking at them. I take very good care of them and put them down lightly, they just scratch so easily. I have short finger nails so no clue how they are getting scratched. I have major OCD when it comes to things like this. Never owned a headset that scratches so easy. Started to notice just after 2 days of use.
great review. Anyone have experience with escape from tarkov with these headphones? audio is such a crucial part of that game
You might as well review the cushion. A product review should be an original product, just saying.
Right this guy always on ts like they paying his ass to change the dsmn earpads
Pretty sure its a kinda of sponsor
Is this headset for abusing foot steps etc? I play a LOT OF COD and Apex, so sound is a huge factor in these games. I’m looking for a headset that would help me hear some footsteps!!
Can the wireless version also be used wired?
Not the max but the old one can
Can you use the headset while it charges?
You can but there's no dedicated USB mode like on the original HS80. You'll still need to enable the wireless mode then plug the cable into the headset to use it.
I am getting this for free due to a broken hs55 in warranty💀💀💀💀💀💀
That’s a fuckin W bro
i always go with Corsair cuz they last longer with the metal frames built into them, in comparison to plastics that wear down on others so much
Are these a good headset for PS5?
Great explanation as always man. Thanks for showcasing the updates, really made it clear with showing the iCUE part. Despite it being a good looking piece of software, apart from NGenuity it's probably my least favorite game peripherals software.
Why
@@Hayboye It's not very user friendly and has stuff that's just useless bloat (like the system resources widgets). When I compare it to what the likes f Roccat, Logitech G-Hub and Cooler Master do, iit's just vastly inferior. Also the way Slipstream works (which in terms of hardware is inferior to what Logitech's Lightspeed does) and the way you need to pair something to a dongle in iCue just works tedious.
@@djoetma the pairing process is actually pretty easy bro, literally 2 clicks. And the system resources widgets are only useless to users that don't care about their pc temps etc.. its an option for a reason, frankly a better option than using a whole different software just to monitor that data.
@Hayboye If you care about that info, your motherboard manufacturer probably has way better software for that.
And the pairing in my experience doesn't go so well. Not even talking about the fact that you can't put two mice or headsets on the same dongle.
@@djoetma you shouldnt need to, its a dongle FOR the headphones, you should be able to plugin what ever else you buy. And for somebody that does care about the info, it would be much more convenient to have everything in one software as opposed to having other applications open in addition to icue
I'm not sure the title of this video is correct. "Worthy upgrade?" Techne i love most of your content. But there is barely any comparison to old model. Like is the sound any better? Is the range better? These are the main topics that should be discussed in a comparison video. This video just feels like a missed opportunity. Maybe we could get a deep dive comparison of this and the older model?
By the way, not trying to come across harsh or anything. But criticism is important and its not meant to be a jab. You usually do really good comparisons so this just felt underwhelming
indeed
Anyone happen to know the range on these in practice just really want a headset that reaches my entire house.
Hope you review the new corsair's keyboard also with the "max" named on it :D
So Bluetooth and a little bit better battery, is that all?
and the customizable wheel, oh and Sound id
@@TheTechne Thank you for your answer. One more question. Does the headset save the EQ / other changes to its own memory or you should run the corsair softwer all the time?
The mic sounds horrible on it. Something going on there. Maybe needs a FW update in the future.
@@specter4159 Nah it's horrible sounding. How can they go from a really great mic on the original to that garbage. Something not right with it.
Use the same microphone original hs80
I don't touch Corsair products because of iCUE causing me endless headaches with my previous Asus motherboard.
I have a Asus motherboard also never had an issue with iCUE.
All we want to know is if they're STINKIN COZY or not?😅
gsp 370 has my favorite balance of comfort price battery and sound q
I hated the sound of the original Hs80s. I bought them a week ago and returned them the next day. They sounded to hollow, no seperation. I thought they sounded cheap no matter what eq I used on them. Anyway I wound up picking up the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 gen 2 Max, and boy the sound blows the Hs80s out of the water. It's a shame because the Hs80s does everything right, except for the sound.
yeah a good eq really brings them to life
I’m thinking about giving the blackshark v2 pros a try. They seem comparable. Currently have the hyper X cloud alpha wireless
Cloud 3 sounds better then the hs80 and black shark v2. I tried both
@@therealtyrant wow that’s pretty surprising. We’ll not really hyper X headsets also sound great. Especially in call of duty. They just have less functions and what not. There great. Really thought the blacksharks would sound better tho. Guess not
@@therealtyrantmic sounds like crap tho
I was hoping that a "DECENT and PRICEY" headset will finally change my mind about headsets. But .... my ears hurt haha and the sound quality is good, even more than good. But by all the reviews from different people I expected it to knock my socks off, but it sounds similar to most of my earbuds I had that weren't even that good to begin with which is saying something. Maybe I'm just not an audio guy so I can't tell the diffrence, idk... but yeah.
Bug bummer … hs80 max have no slipstream compatibility, can’t pair them to a single dongle with mouse and keyboard, corsair confirmed. Older HS 80, have that.
it's so annoying that u dont put timestamps
i own the original HS80, u can just turn off the LED lights by putting the brightness to zero. Then they off, at least for me. Btw i purchased mine some months ago on black friday for only 89 € bucks :D
Please review the headphones instead of advertising the wicked cushions. Don’t get me wrong I love your videos but the whole wicked cushion advertising/hype starts to annoy me lately. Just saying. Cheers.
just a friendly recommendation. I daily them and truly love them, bot just some random sponsor/affiliate plug.
Thanks Techne, another great content 👍 I had those original HS80 but I changed them to Virtoso XT wireless instead since I wanted BT function and possibility to use with XBOX also.
How's the mic on Virtoso XT? I want a decent mic for xbox..
@@MorgFlame Ask The Techne, according to me has virtoso XT the best mic of them all.
beware, they are not big head friendly.
Cooling gel should be labeled "heat retention gel". seriously
You don't like them?
why the ugly tat?
Which one? LOL
