Now is the PERFECT time to buy up some high end cards. The market is sitting in the troth before the run. Prices will start climbing steeply in the next 2 years before the Bear cycle repeats

Absolutely, definitely take the time to look around and find a nice example at the right price. Historical market cycles for the Pokemon market gives us a steady growth for the next year, before spiking to a peak over the following year (2025). I'd say that 151 is going to get VERY expensive at that point (per sealed pack). I feel like Celebrations will get a nice bump in value, the way Generations did in the last cycle. 2026 will be an awesome year to be sitting on Celebrations sealed product.

Good advice here I wish I had followed when I started as a 42 year old dad getting into the hobby with my kids in summer of 2022. I no longer rip packs unless it’s for fun or a special occasion. Now I source singles, trade, grade, and sell as well. My focus is quality over quantity. I’d rather have one really cool card that I like (like my PSA 10 Gengar & Mimikyu Tag Team Alt Art which I got for $90 and graded in fall of 2022) vs a whole binder full of bulk Vs. Quality over quantity.
That is awesome and that is a sick card don’t get me wrong I LOVE ripping packs with my daughter but that money we are ok burning lol but yeah I have learned from my mistakes like you did.

Nice video! I do have one question though. Is there a consistent way to buy older packs like sun and moon and xy for my collection at reasonable prices? I grew up with pokemon since about 2012 or 2013 and loved pokemon since.
