He plays pigeon chess. He lands on the board, struts around, poops all over everything, knocks over the pieces. Then flies back to the flock to tell them how he absolutely did win the match.
I've come to think of X-dimensional chess as a great metaphor. Most great strategy games exist at an inflection point of complexity where humans can still make meaningful guesses about future moves, or at least future trends. But at a certain point this predictive ability breaks down as each added degree of complexity introduces more unknown variables, more games of chance, and more opportunities for an opponent to act in a way that is not predicted. Heck to even make a mistake that ruins your own plans. In short. Nobody smart enough to play 4D chess is dumb enough to play 4D chess.
Anyone can play 4-D chess, even Trump. But just because you're in the game doesn't mean you know what you're doing, or that you have a hope in hell of success.
We can use Yang's tech vision. He's already taken this issue up with the Supreme Court in his head. But his Universal Basic Income plan is the key to making America Great again. So many good things can come out of UBI.

He would have been my second pick after Sanders. But yeah. He had some brilliant ideas. (Sanders / Yang - or Yang / Sanders would have been a dream team...)
That's because the owners of this country which includes the media do not want to lose their grasp in the slightest, nor do they want the American people to know the real truth.

Funny how CEOs & exec staff aren't displaced & their compensation only grows as remaining workers are doing the work of five-10 human souls yet getting paid LESS than their counterparts of the past.
Well - less people doing more work = higher profits. Where else would those flow than to CEOs and owners via dividend? The workers? Dont be silly, they are so well broken in right now, giving them some carrot would only awaken their greedy lazy little souls.
Spent an entire evening trying to explain this to my sister who works in the exec staff. She kept saying all these new 6 figure jobs were popping up and how great it is and I kept pointing out each 6 figure jobs was at the expense of ten workers out of business and she refused to get it. Smugly blind.
@Justin B Hmm - I do tend to agree that management work is overpaid. But it IS work. And not a small amount in most cases. Of the few dozen entrepreneurs, leading bureaucrats, elected officals in management ect, I know of - none whom works less than 50-60 hours a week. Most of the work not being "hard" in an "exhaustive" way, but nonetheless much to do. And it is a kind of work that not everybody can do - responsibility for dozens of jobs or a large institution isnt that easy, and a lot of people shy away from it. Of course there are CEOs that do nearly nothing and are well paid - but for most of the managerial elite I witness ariund me, I´d have to disagree given my experience.
I retired from inspecting in a manufacturing facility a few months before covid hit. I worked 3rd shift, and 7 day weeks were not unusual, 24/7 production was typical. Then, we got a new CEO who was shocked that there was NO UPPER MANAGEMENT personnel on site most week-ends... on any shift. This was totally against plant guidelines, and could lead to serious liability issues. So our upper management personnel had to take turns being on site, and coming around the plant every hour or so, to check on everything. After about 4 weeks, all of a sudden, upper management decided that 24/7 was un-necessary and that we could stop production most week-ends. Funny about that, after years of 24/7 production. 🤔😏😁

@@markpashia7067 For many years now, I have been saying "if your job CAN be done by a machine, it WILL be." People have got to get better, because the machines keep getting better. Right now in the voice acting community, there is little to no concern over the problem that we are developing AI software to duplicate one person's voice over another person's performance. But there are a number of people in the VA community who are in the business of imitating another VA when that VA is not available. Their primary skill is to do another person's voice, and we can - right now - replace that job with a stack of Python scripts. The writing is on the wall, but that part of the community is handwaving it and doing nothing. What the machine CANNOT do is act. We need a human being to do the acting. It is not enough that you can do a voice anymore - you must be able to ACT. That's already important, but it's about to be all that matters in the VA world. And your voice will stop mattering, so a lot of great actors with awful voices are going to slip into the spots that are currently occupied by awful actors with great voices. This pattern will repeat itself across every industry. Watch for it. Account for it. Stay two steps ahead of it.

Yang was my pick during the dem. primaries. really liked his platform. shame he didn't make it. but he's young, sharp, and can continue to throw his name in the hat for a long time.
The automation point is absolutely true. I work on the factory floor of one of the US automakers and in just the last 4 yrs almost a third of the jobs are now done by robots or some form of automation. My generation will probably be the last one on the plant floor. We as a nation really need to start moving towards a service economy and quickly.
Yang has a great program for young college grads to help them become entrepreneurs. Venture for America, of which my son is a fellow. It’s something we need in America.

shawn donovan, while what you noted and Beau said is true, it’s not about truth...it’s about slight of hand, false facts and blame transfer. When those jobs don’t come, the blame will be transferred to Democrats, extreme regulation, foreign powers and the always available “Deep State”.
I was a machinist for 25+ years, watched lots of work get shipped overseas, because it was cheaper, plain and simple economics. I also witnessed the automation of machining, driving skilled workers out of the industry (like me), to be replaced by inexperienced low paid parts loaders, who are now being replaced by robotics. The work that was shipped overseas is coming back for multiple reasons, not just instability, but simply a lack of quality control and experience on the part of the folks that are willing to do the work at a cut rate. American corporations have an expectation of quality, and its simply not being met overseas. And when you have a shipment of 10000 parts, that takes 3 months to get here, only to find out they are all garbage... well that gets old quick. As for military contracts being fulfilled overseas, look up ITAR regulations, most DOD contracts require US or treaty countries for sourcing, the scope of those treaties pretty much leaves it to France, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany and a handful of essentially allied powers of WWII plus a few others, notably countries that have been more or less stable since WWII, So Trump didn't really do anything there besides lie and cheat.
Do you think we still have the skilled people in place and willing to work? How long to retrain a cheap young workforce? I watched it happen with you, my take was we threw away a manufacturing culture not easily replaced.

To be fair - the Space Force as a concept isn't that stupid. Trump probably never got what it actually entails - but basically it's so, that the Space Program is part of the Air Force. The idea of setting up a sepperate command structure and commanding entity for space affairs isn't that new either. And it becomes more popular and useful, now that NASA plans a ton of new projects, like the Gateway-Station and a permanent moon base. But yes - Trump most likely saw it the same way, as the meme-video with Jim Curry from Command and Conquer "SSSSSSPACE!!!!"
Alas we could've had Yang, instead we've gotta settle for Biden. I hope Yang gets a major role in the Biden administration and is able to push for big positive policies like UBI. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
UBI is a Socialist idea therefore it won't be acceptable in the Continental USA. But is Quite Acceptable in 180 Democratic Nations. The Republic of Ireland's Trade Union Group,(ICTU) are in negotiations with the view of a Statuary 32 hour week. With Many of the Countries Manufacturers and International Companies in Favour. Irish and EU Citizen
Back when Ford and Carrier got their arms twisted to prevent jobs being moved to Mexico, I had several conversations with Trump supporters who were very happy about the outcome. Most, if not all of them, acknowledged the following downsides of the issue (Disclaimer: this is not a scientific study): 1. Not all of their jobs will come back. Some will have to be laid off to allow for the others to be employed at similar expenditure to the company. - Response: Yes. I stand to be among the ones to stay. 2. Work hours and intensity may go up. - Response: Yes. It is already happening. That is fine. At least I get to keep my job. 3. The wages you are being paid are unsustainable for the work done. - Response (only about half agreed with the premise): Yes. But as long as we have our collective negotiation power, they cannot deny us. Also, the companies are getting tax breaks in return. So, they cannot complain. 4. If the model is not sustainable, companies will move towards automation to drive more work for less investment out of tireless machines. - Response: Yes. Everybody acknowledges this will happen. But it will take anywhere from 2 to 5 years depending on the industry if they started today. In the meantime, I get to keep my job. 5. If you reskilled, you will have better opportunities. - Response: It is too late for an old dog to learn new tricks. Not happening. In short, the people that support Trump and give him credit know all this and they know it is going to happen. They don't care. Their focus is on their own, personal, short-term gain even if it is unjustifiable, comes subsidized at the taxpayer's expense and is soon to be lost to machines that they are not willing to learn to operate.
Happy Thanksgiving American Beau watchers. Much love, be safe and I hope you have much to be thankful for. I am thankful for you Beau. Keep up the good work.
This is what I've always told everyone that says bring manufacturing back to the US, so many people think that manufacturing in the US will equal jobs seem to think that corporations aren't looking to do it the cheapest way possible. A robot can work 24 hours a day, never needs a day off for holidays/birthdays/emergencies, never demands better pay or work conditions, and even if they're down for maintenance another one can replace them immediately. Corporations aren't in the business of giving people jobs out of the kindness of their hearts, it'll always be the bottom line and humans in the US won't get those jobs until they're willing to work like those robots for as cheap as those robots are to run.
I live in West Virginia. He came here, put on a hard hat and told the coal miners he would bring coal back. He did not bother to tell them how he was going to do that. We are sitting on top of, probably, 20 to 30 years of shale gas that companies have invested billions of dollars to extract from the ground. The odds are pretty good that coal won’t be needed for a while. He has the justice dept. trying to end the Affordable Care Act, which would cost tens of thousands of WV residents their insurance and, if re-elected, was going to try to cut funding for Social Security, Medicare and probably every social safety net out there. WV voted overwhelmingly for President Trump, we are now one of the most, if not the most, republican states in the union. I am not sure why people vote against their self interests but the fact is a lot of them do.
And what will these companies do once everything is automated but the products and services provided by robots and AI aren't being purchased because they forgot they contribute to the circulation of the representation of capital? We are just not prepared for full automation.
Beau, thanks for your deliberation, your calmness and your clear analysis. All done without ranting. Ranting is for those who don't have an argument or facts, so the louder they yell, the more they drown out the truth. Your plain talking is much appreciated. Years ago, CBS Evening News used to end with a gentleman named Eric Sevareid. He spoke in the same calm, thoughtful manner as you do. You'd be great in the same role.
Well hey, there's going to be a handful of high paying robotics engineering jobs coming out of this. Sure, you're replacing thousands of decent paying jobs with a couple dozen high paying jobs, but hey, at least *someone* will be making money. Just not gonna be the suckers who voted for Trump, since statistically they're unlikely to have the necessary education, or think said education is worthwhile, since Trump was bringing back manufacturing jobs that don't need much of an education. Of course, they're just going to blame Biden for letting all those manufacturing jobs get replaced by robots.
@@bblvrable Actually the engineering jobs are going to be going away too. Companies are working on AIs that are able to interpret given parameters and then work through that. Similarly this same tech is going to destroy most of programming related jobs. Don't have to know how to program to get an AI to create a program/script to do things for you. So most of the jobs are going to be extremely high level stuff. Here's the rub: both world wars were created, partially, by the upheaval of society, especially work. In the near future taxation has to be used for basic income for all. The number of unemployed will be ridiculous.
@@jaanikaapa6925 Sounds like you're not an engineer. A machine can only do what it is designed to do. Automation can aid in designing a car, jetliner, bomb, ship, bridge, etc but machines are still limited in their ability to solve unique problems. As a Brit I don't generally involve myself in the violence of US politics ; it scares me. But you, Beau, are the voice of reason in all this and I wish there were more of you.
Each nation should strive to manufacture and supply themselves from within their own borders as much as possible. And trade with other nations for whatever wants or needs it has only those things it can't get domestically. As to those reasons Beau has stated, it has obvious to me since these so-called free trade agreements went into effect decades ago that national security should cause us not to enter into those agreements, this was a no brainer way back then. Climate change and peak oil became obvious reasons in my mind almost 20 years ago. So much of the hardship we as a nation are going through could have been avoided had we never entered into those agreements in the first place.

Think about Uber and Lfyt, essentially these are taxi servies. Now when's the last time anyone has spoken up about the taxi driving industry suffering a loss over the mobility and servicability that comes with Uber/Lfyt. Trump couldn’t beat a chicken at tic-tac-toe, but his cult thinks he’s playing 4-D chess.
Preach!
Anyone can play 4-D chess, even Trump.
But just because you're in the game doesn't mean you know what you're doing, or that you have a hope in hell of success.

First time in my life seeing this expression: thank you, i learned something new
That's because the type of broken clock he is isn't the kind that has a static time shown, but just isn't keeping time accurately. It's either too fast or too slow. Or just flashing random times. Much harder for "clock errors" like that to be correct.
A broken clock is right twice a day, but a slow clock can be perpetually wrong.

Hmm - I do tend to agree that management work is overpaid.

Back when Ford and Carrier got their arms twisted to prevent jobs being moved to Mexico, I had several conversations with Trump supporters who were very happy about the outcome. Most, if not all of them, acknowledged the following downsides of the issue (Disclaimer: this is not a scientific study):
A large part of your last paragraph sums up the mindset of most of our politicians quite nicely.

Isn’t that the plot of terminator?
@@bblvrable Actually the engineering jobs are going to be going away too. Companies are working on AIs that are able to interpret given parameters and then work through that. Similarly this same tech is going to destroy most of programming related jobs. Don't have to know how to program to get an AI to create a program/script to do things for you.
So most of the jobs are going to be extremely high level stuff. Here's the rub: both world wars were created, partially, by the upheaval of society, especially work. In the near future taxation has to be used for basic income for all. The number of unemployed will be ridiculous.

Automation can aid in designing a car, jetliner, bomb, ship, bridge, etc but machines are still limited in their ability to solve unique problems. Machines are not imaginative and don't think out of the box they are placed in. They will be so for many decades to come. You can program scripts until you're blue in the face. The problems I face can't be addressed by code and machine learning. If they could, they'd be doing it now. Real world engineering problem are a collection of parameters. Climate change and peak oil became obvious reasons in my mind almost 20 years ago. So much of the hardship we as a nation are going through could have been avoided had we never entered into those agreements in the first place.
God I love your videos. How do you come up with content? Do you have a group chat of friends where you just chat all day? What’s your education/background? Love the channel dude! Keep spittin truth
Thank you Trump voting for you in 2024
I really hope Andrew Yang gets a cabinet position in the Biden Administration. He’s by far the smartest primary candidate and the only one that offered real solutions to all ordinary Americans.
On the contrary, it doesn't take a genius to realize any of what he was saying, it's damn obvious if you are paying a lick of attention.
As long as we are America, we will have the right to speak our piece. Whether others agree with it, is another thing entirely. Thank you for sharing your opinions with us.
Now we are beginning to understand structured unemployment, the rethinking of the economy is now required.
I like this guy. He breaks it down. Thanks bro.
Robots make robots. UBI anyone? Go Yang Gang.
Can't believe I just found this UA-cam channel! Where have you been all of my life? Outstanding information. Keep it coming.
Yang is the man
Thank you sir, you are very smart and 100% correct, keep up the informative videos, hopefully people start believing that Trump is not the hero they wanted or needed. He told great talk, but that's all it is, talk.
Trump is the "mr. Bean" or "inspector clouseau" of the 21st century lol
I work for Amazon Mechanical Turk, and we had tasks that train AI, that WILL take these types of jobs away, and in the very near future, so yes, we need UBI implemented as soon as possible because it will be utter chaos when you will have 50 million people out of work all at once...
I really like andrew yang. He's a smart guy and would likely make a good leader.
I remember Obama talking about this alot years ago, that even though the factories are going to be returning, only 25% of factory workers will be getting jobs back and those jobs will more often than not require higher education and training
So I'm wondering how the mfrs think there will be consumers with $ to spend on their products after they squeeze out labor.
Love that name
Hello Beau watchers. As tough as times maybe . Americans have much to be thankful for on this uniquely American holiday.. Happy Thanksgiving !!
Years ago, Warren Buffett said immigrants weren't the threat but automation will be taking our jobs. As a truck driver, I can see the future of my trade.
Delivery driver will still be a thing, but OTR will(and should) be phased out.
There is no future for long haul truckers. Within 10 years there will be fleets that are fully robotic. As far as delivery drivers, I'm guessing that drones are going to take over half of the present jobs. I might be wrong on this. But if I had a young relative or friend, I would advise them to look for another career path.
@@briangarrow448 to be honest trains should have replaced most OTR jobs decades ago.
I was talking about sysco or Pepsi type jobs. Skilled bulk delivery
@@matthewarnold4557 Fair point. There's always going to be that niche for specific skill type positions. My theory is if you know an idiot who is doing a job today and living off that income, in another generation, his or her child will not be able to find a similar employment situation.
@@briangarrow448 to put it a little kinder, any job that requires almost no thinking will be non-existent in 10 years.
You & yours have a great Thanksgiving, Beau.
yang was the best option by far. his book "war on normal people" - andrew yang was amazing.
Well, behind Bernie of course. Yang wanted to give us UBI, a way of effectively removing any negotiating power the working class has, whereas Bernie wanted to give workers voting rights in their companies, aka much more power in the long run.
Happy Thanksgiving to Beau & his family and everyone who listen to his wise words. There are important things today I’m Thankful for and that’s my family & our health, prayers to those who have a empty chair this day. After Beau, there will be No Politics speaking in our house hold today.
I'm curious who will buy all these products made by robots?
If humans aren't making a paycheck from these products are the robots buying them?
Sometimes I think we're too smart for our own good.
Either that or we're too profit greedy ....
Think about Uber and Lfyt, essentially these are taxi servies.
Now when's the last time anyone has spoken up about the taxi driving industry suffering a loss over the mobility and servicability that comes with Uber/Lfyt.
The reason I say this is because this is essentially saving people money, money which they will then restructure to spend on other facets of life.
Think about how many people aren't having children, getting marries, buying their own homes, or cars. There's money in the society, always will be, but where it goes...that's going to become more monopolized.
As seen here by Amazon getting into the medication business.

Happy Thanksgiving Beau! You are one of my most watched political commentary channels and you're so consistent! Love your videos and hope u stay safe and enjoy yourself this holiday! :^)
Equivalent of: "It is so bad that is good". Except this isn't a movie. This is life - and all of this bad is going to hit us. Or rather already has.
And it's going to continue to hit us relentlessly as Ali against Frasier,.
I love Andrew Yang!! He is right!!
