Great video! Mandy cafe pho is $10 for a larger bowl of pho. Personal faves: Healthy Soyfoods in crystal mall first floor right at entrance has $2 tofu pudding. Dosa Factory and Dosa Corner on Kingsway both have $7.99 any dosa on monday. Peanuts bubble tea in richmond has $1.25 wheelcakes. Kam wai in chinatown has $2.15 steamed buns. Tuan & Thuy Kitchen on Kingsway has 2 pate baguettes for $5.
@@boomerandzapper damn that’s sick. Thank you! Owen is obsessed with pâté Banh mi so I’m sure he’d love that last place there. I’ve got one for you in return: Columbus Meats on Nanaimo has pre-made Italian lunches for like 5-10 bucks after tax every day. They get cheaper after 3pm too. Good lasagna and ribs and stuff. Sandos. The only thing is they had a fire recently and although they’re open again it doesn’t look like they have the lunches back, so we’re waiting to see what’s going on there.
A bowl of pho used to be about $6.99 it’s crazy how everything is so expensive now! I’ve seen some Viet restaurants charge $18 for pho $10 for Banh mi so kudos to the owner of this place hope they do well!
Love the food here, and the owner is THE BEST. She's remembered my name for 5+ years, through a very long hiatus through COVID. Great to know they're on Too Good to Go as well!
Thank you for not ruining the broth with all the sauces and chilli oil. Thats the real vietanmese way to eat it, you dip your meat instead of ruining the broth that the aunties spent HOURS making. 😂
Love your channel! Its a shame how so many of the diners and mom and pop eateries have died out over the last 2 decades, but I love seeing your videos!
Try Ho Yuen Kee for the wonton and dumpling soups on Fraser street. Amazing understated place that's been in the neighborhood for a few decades. Try the double boiled milk dessert!
Thanks for sharing these videos....new to vancouver and looking for cheap local spots, restaurants..... keep contents coming, let's explore vancouver locally. Cheers!!🍻
Loving the videos! Cambie Vietnamese on the corner of Main St and King Ed has $17 combos. Any pho and fried roll or your choice of different rice dishes all with a fried roll. Great little spot!
I actually just walked by that place and was so surprised at that. The spring roll is only .25 cents to add with your bowl. Crazy haha. Gunna try it soon.
Love your videos! You guys are wonderful. ❤ I recommend: LA GROTTA DEL FORMAGGIO (thicc sandwiches) Fat Mao (best Thai noodles around) Manoush'eh (flatbread to die for)
First time I heard about Pholicious, will have to try it out after your recommendation 👍 Not sure if you guys tried out Pho Duy yet, its a hole in the wall restaurant with weird hours and only 3 items on the menu. The pho was really good there!
Dude I used to live by pho duy and I tried to go there maybe 6 different times and they were always closed for some reason haha. I finally gave up but I’ve heard so many good things. Might have to give it another go!
Let us know your favorite cheap restaurants in the city!
Go to Mr. Japanese Curry on W 8th Ave

Ya they’re definitely trying to keep prices low still which is really amazing and probably hard to do. It’s quite busy there too which is nice to see!
i remember bean banh mi on kingsway had 5 dollar banh mis but they went out of business

I remember the days when a large bowl was around 6 bucks at Pho Long on Fraser

Nothing worse than seeing someone get a beautiful bowl of pho and then empty half a bottle of hoisin into it haha.
lol that was me growing up as a kid now I just dip my meat if I even use hoisin

Thanks for sharing, loved the video, however, you killed me by calling a Vietnamese Bánh mì a SUB. 😭
Haha don’t worry with you on that
🔥🔥🔥🔥🖖🏽
Thank You for these cheap eat videos!
No problem :)
No thai basil and bean sprouts on the saide of a plate on first vietnamese restraunt pholiscous
Oh they have it they just asked if I wanted it and I said no :)
There's cheaper spots.. but don't need all these hipsters turning them into hipster 'finds' and 'spots'.
…..but you just called them spots.
Vietnamese food is the Burger King of Asian cuisine.
Damn I didn’t know people liked Burger King that much!
Fast and cheap
But I gotta say viet food is healthier than Chinese. I always find Chinese to be too greasy even at high end restaurants and heavier on msg
