My mom tells a great story about when she was a small child she brought home a litter of baby skunks thinking they were kittens. My grandmother walked in and hollered who brought skunks into my house, my mom was saying but mommy there just kitties ❣❣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣

I love the tape idea. Have never seen it done this way. I normally fold the end back to create a tab that’s easy to pull, really like the one handed method. Thank you.
I am not at all crafty but love organization and efficiency. Love these ideas!
I LOVE the USB cord hack! I discovered it a few years ago. I keep a silver and black permanent marker with my pencils. As soon as we get a new item, BAM, it gets instantly marked. I also write on the large end, the name of the item. This way we know which cord goes with goes with what. LIFE SAVER!

Helpful ideas, Norrine! TFS! Guess we all have skunk stories, don't we? One tried to come into our house in Michigan through our dryer vent at 4am. Scent was picked up by our furnace and carried through the whole house. Awful smell, burned our eyes. Our middle and high schoolers went to school not realizing the smell was embedded in their coats and clothes, and classmates made fun of them. I was teaching and my assistant didn't say a word to me---until a week later when I shared our story. (By then, it was kind of funny....kind of.) It was then I learned all week long my 'perfume fragrance' had been Eeeewww de Skunk and my assistant had been too nice to say anything. How embarrassing! Smh. Laundromats are probably open, you could wash clothes at home then take them out to dry.

And I noticed you used binder clips to hold your cords so they don't fall behind furniture...which is a terrific hack too. When my dog got skunked and came in to roll in the carpet, I found that Febreeze did an excellent job neutralizing the odor.
Ok, I NEVER imagined Fabreeze could work!!!!! Thank you!!!!!
I was not expecting to hear what you added to the end about Mothers, Norrine....and I bless you from the bottom of my heart for what you said. I cannot tell you how much I needed to hear that today, right this minute. I did not give birth to Seanna, but...to hell with the pressure Society was putting on me to "stay in my place" and defer to her birth mother...when I saw my sweet baby girl lying in her coffin, I knew I was not burying "someone else's child". It was the first time I ever called her "My daughter". I was utterly shattered. I raised her from Kindergarten until the second year of high school and no child was ever loved more. It is simply not possible. She was the not only the center of my world, she was a huge part of my heart and my soul and my Self. I am STILL utterly "lost", and probably always will be. Thank you, sweetheart, for the acknowledgment, for the respect. Seanna was severely disabled and I fought every day of her life with me to create as much Peace and Joy for her as was possible. I was absolutely BLESSED to have had the opportunity to do so. It was the greatest "thankless job" I have ever had. I think you are the first person in all these years to even come close to "thanking me". You're an angel. Truly. blessings...Steph

My turn: My sister had gone to work one day and smelled a horrible skunk scent all day. She and the other employees couldn't figure out where it came from. When my sister got home from work, my mom told her our dog was sprayed by a skunk the previous night---my sister realized that the dog had come in and slept on her bed that night. So SHE had been the source of the smell at work that she had been complaining about. Lol

This video touched my heart. You are such a genuine lovely lady and I truly appreciate the comments about being a Mom. I lost my fur baby back in Nov 2019. It was the most devastating experience for me. I've never lost a child, but this experience was the closest I've come to it. Both my parents and my brother have passed, but these losses did not compare to the loss of my dog, who was very much like a child. Thank you again for your comments and your sweet countenance. Your videos are well done and always look so professionally made. You have really become a favorite for me.💞
I'm so sorry about your fur baby, Jo Ann. Yes, the hardest I've ever cried and biggest loss to my heart so far was losing my last dog. They ARE our children. xoxoxxo
Okay. Flat out - the tape folding tip is ingenious! I must save this video to favorites. Great tips all! I’ve learned myself the benefit of the Velcro hook and loop strips but your rug hold down was new to me as was one other which already left my head. Another one I’d never ever thought of is the magnet E6000ed to the screwdrivers. For the robotic vac brush cleaner my solution is also from the sewing area of my home and a pet tool. 1) Where you use the seam ripper I use thread snips to cut across those rows. For the hair, threads etc instead of pulling it all out by hand I use a puppy size wire hair/fur brush because “used” hair is sorta creepy dirty to me. I don’t want to touch it more than necessary. So I brush brush brush all the gunk to one side of the roller then pull it off in one or two clumps. Originally I reused Milo the Yorky’s brush but now I keep a separate one handy with the thread snips. By the way, while old hair gives me creeps (as do rodents) I’m pretty okay with bugs under an inch or so, flying or crawling.

Good luck getting the smell out if fabric, nobody I know of had it work. Everyone says best to just throw them away because the oil never goes away.

I have used a paste of baking soda and hydrogen peroxide to get the smell off my dogs when they get sprayed. Also sprinkle baking soda on your carpet, let sit for a bit and then vacuum up. It works! Skunk smell gone.
Well here's another Wow! comment for the tape idea. What a simple fix that is. I will say that the seam ripper idea is one of my favorite hacks I frequently use, especially when my vacuum picks up the sewing threads and cat hair. Happy Mother's Day Norrine. Have an awesome day tomorrow!

Oh meant to add another praise and add a glitter cleanup solution. Have a hunch your glitter cleanup may be better but I learned from Jennifer Maguire to keep Swiffer dusters in the craft room to clean up glitter and little bits of crafting madness, embossing powder comes to mind. The electrostatic property of Swiffers grabs up the bits so we can shake the loosest out in the trash bin and tuck the Swiffer away for handy reuse. The other praise is the brilliant usb cord match. I will use a different color for my one bedside odd-ball sized usb plugger-inner. Of course I have all these cords hung with Velcro to my nightstand and it’s partner a ubiquitous Ikea Raskog cart. Directionally labeling the cords and devices is a brilliant idea. I always stumble a couple of times before getting them right.

Bless your heart and your fur baby. We don’t have skunks in my area, so I’m very thankful for that. I was going to get the things I told you I was sending to you packaged up and take to the post office last Friday, but we had rain most of the day. Today is Monday and trying to get some housework done. Im going to get it gathered and get it in the mail to you tomorrow. I got mine all planted. Told my grown kids I was starting a succulent garden and guess what I got. About 7 more different kinds, But none like the ones you sent. I was so happy! I’ll get you a picture of it tomorrow. Thanks for the USB tip - so simple, so useful. I have also always been flipping the end of tape over on itself, but the 45° method makes it so much neater.

Great tips, thanks. Also, to get the skunk smell that lingers in house, put out small bowls of coffee beans or ground coffee throughout the house. This really helps a lot. Happy Mother's Day!!

Great and useful hack ideas thank you for sharing. I live in the country on about 47 acres and my dogs get sprayed by skunks two maybe three times a year. I have use the Peroxide, baking soda and Dawn dish soap for the last several years I’ve never added vinegar. Please be careful to avoid the dogs eyes. Thank you for sharing the mom video. I am not really happy about that but it is what it is. Thanks for all the tips today. Oh by the way my dog years ago also got skunked and it was not pleasant at all that smell was in my house for months. Hopefully yours will not last as long. Enjoy your day!!

Great hacks! Since I am fur baby mom and my lips have had impromptu meetings with skunks, I always keep the ingredients you mentioned (dishwashing soap, hydrogen peroxide, etc.) around. It has saved the day! Happy Mother's Day to you and all your followers!🌻🌻

These are terrific hacks! I keep a lint roller on my craft desk. It gets used often to pick up all kinds of little scraps and bits. Happy mothers day to you. I thought it was next week so I didnt get my cards done...yet! I'm sad that my son doesnt live in my town but he lives near my mother so I hope he can visit her (wearing mask and social distancing). So sorry about your doggie! Oh my! When it rains it pours!

I miss going to our parks as well, my son was so hoping that our parks would be open as well because he and my hubby were gonna surprise me with a picnic lunch in my happy place,but I feel every where is my happy place as long as my family is healthy and happy and we can spend it together in our living room watching a movie together or our deck eating my favorite food ,and talking and laughing together that is all I need! I just miss seeing my Mom, she lives 3 hours away ( she is 83 and is in good health accept for her bad back) and we never miss a Mother's day celebration weekend but this year we have and it is so hard. Oh my goodness what a few days you've had! I've had skunk problems myself. (they moved in under my apt, thought it was my kids rooms. ) lol Some of your tips were new to me loved the tape one, and the flipping of shelves. Thank you! Have a very Happy Mothers Day! Tell your kids I think their Mom is awesome! (My foster Mom raised over 2 thousand of us, adopted 19 of us, she was amazing. I followed by raising 250 fosters, and 3 of my own. I'm a disabled/retired English Teacher now, and so miss having my babies around. .. )

Need an icepack? I do, my tooth hurts. I got tired of 'chasing' my ziplock of ice around my dish towel, so tonight I merely slipped the ice-filled ziplock into a clean ankle sock. It's working quite well!
Happy Mother’s Day! Could have been worse, with the dog. Our best friend’s dog got skunk zapped three different times. I understand the, it rains when it pours week you had. My husband put a large package of hamburger in the fridge. When I got ready to cook some for supper and vacuum seal and freeze the rest, I got my when it rains it pours moment. The sealer was in the bottom back of my pantry. I ended up having to take everything out and scrub it down because apparently a whole hoard of spiders had taken up residence. Did I mention those things give me the willies. Finally got that all straight, opened the fridge and the blood in the hamburger meat had run all over the bottom shelf and down into my fruit bin and vegetable bin. I had to remove everything, throw away some things, disinfect some and disinfect the bottom half of my refrigerator. Then I had to seal and freeze the meat. Needless to say supper was late and I was not a happy camper. I survived and thought this is not the way I want to get around to cleaning things, but it seems lately that’s the way some of my biggest cleaning events have been motivated.

I just bought a tool at dollar tree that I had never seen before. It’s for picking up small items that you lose which are magnetic .
I didn’t unwrap it. I think I’m going to return it because your tip saves me money.

Please try lemon extract, if you have a bottle in your cupboard. I had sent hubby outside to rescue a kitten in the water. It was a skunk. Lemon extract worked very well.

I love the hair removal hack. It’s one of those “Why didn’t I think of that!!” Moments. I have long hair and it’s always a nightmare to clean the vacuum. I also love the tape hack. At least twice a day I trip or step one the flipped corner of the area rug in my kitchen. I’m fixing that today. Thanks for all your videos, I’ve really enjoyed them.

Hi Norrine! Great life hacks! I did know about a few of them but some are new to me so thank you! I'd like to add one that I do. If I have a jar lid that is difficult to twist off I just wrap a rubber band around the lid and it opens every time! Your poor Domino! That skunk smell definitely sticks around for a long time so glad you found a solution that helps! But oh no, your dryer breaking is not good! Hope your new one shows up soon! Thanks, happy Mother’s Day to you . I appreciate the hacks I knew a couple of them, I do the fold technique on all my tape no maker how big or small. So sorry about the dog then the dryer. It seems like those things happen in succession. I used to say someone is trying to make me angry 😤 ( satan). And I’ll say exasperatedly 😡”and it’s working 👿.” Is hard in those times to be positive (which) I find helps a lot. We can certainly empathize. Hang in there🤪 love Linda From Ammon ID.

I so enjoy your videos & love the personal messages at the end. I have a life hack for you! I'll be 60 this week & only heard about this in the last year! If you've got a stuck on mess in a pan or casserole dish. Fill with hot soapy water & an unused dryer sheet & wait 30 minutes. Empty & wash... No need to scrub as all that mess comes right out! Be blessed!
