I was born in 1946 and remember Howdy, Buffalo Bob, Mister Bluster, Clarabelle, Chief Thunder Thud, Princess Summer Fall Winter Spring..... did I miss anyone? I'm sure I did lol
A wonderful 1951 Howdy Doody classic. Dayton Allen (Ugly Sam, and later Salami Sam) was quite the talented comedian and voice over artist. His slapstick routines were always great. This Clarabell was played by Bob Keeshan (later to be Captain Kangaroo). Mr. Smith and Mr. Doody played themselves, but poor Santa wasn't credited. Howdy had 48 freckles -- one for each of the states at that time.
@@chrischeshire6528 I think Williard Scott was a Bozo and was also the first Ronald MacDonald. Bob Keeshan--later Captain Kangaroo--was Clarabell for a while but he either was fired or quit. I'm guessing that in 1951 Clarabell was Lew Anderson. Neglecting to take off his wedding ring was an oversight, wasn't it?
Bob Keeshan was Clarabell in this short; he appeared as Clarabell from 1948 through the end of December 1952, when he and several other cast members [Dayton Allen, Rhoda Mann, Bill LeCornec] were fired because they asked for a raise, and Bob Smith wouldn't give it to them. LeCornec returned after a while.......and Bobby Nicholson was Clarabell for a few years until Lew Anderson assumed the role in 1955, through the end of the series in September 1960.

You did very well. I don't believe you missed any of the Howdy Doody cast at all! Great memory on your part! Thank you!

Howdy doody Christmas
Clarabell was married! He's wearing a wedding ring. I supposed he was a unic. If he had kids I wonder if they came out the shoot wearing makeup?
Clarabelle was Willard Scott, the old weatherman from the Today show.

I remember using popcorn to trim the tree--we used pink popcorn. No, I don't know how they made it pink lol.
You can't string it when it is freshly popped or it falls apart! You have to leave it for a day or two to get stale and chewy.
@tvdays
I would like to know if you take requests. Can you please send me a notification via UA-cam?
Is this a new transfer, or an older one - either way, looks nice.
