OMG! You did the crazy violin solo run on the tenor: flutter-tonguing it and all! I played the violin part and the recorder parts... BUT to do the violin solo on the recorder is just supoerhuman!!! AMAZING (4 was always my fave Bbg!)
Just wonderful slurring with that violin part. I was lucky enough to have played this BBIV, but I just had to play one of the alto parts..I got off easy. I'll have to search around for more of your fine work. Thank you.
It would be really nice to have an album released by you with the Brandenburg Concertos. Your performance of it is really nice. Voices are really balanced somehow, which you cannot say about just every performance of that. Thank you!
Thanks very much! My goal is to finish the complete set and have videos, scores, and playalongs for the whole thing. I tried a Kickstarter to get funding for an audio CD but I made about half of my goal. I think when I am done. I will release all the audio as a set for streaming.
Bravo! You always impress with your technical skill, musicality, innovation, and transcription genius. I'm a die-hard fan that missed the first round of Gofundme projects. For the many, many hours of enjoyment I have gained from your music over the years I would like to contribute in the future. Thank you and please stay healthy to keep the music cranking.
Thanks, Tim! I appreciate the feedback and I will post to UA-cam if I start another campaign. I will also be sure to post here when I finish the digital download of all the movements. #5 is next!
Wonderful as always! Have you done brandenburg 5 yet? It would be pretty interesting to see how the Harpsichord part would transfer over to instruments that arent keyboard ones! (I made an arrangememt for mallet percussion, with 2 marimbas being the harpsichord. I think at some parts the piece is impossible to play, since some of the 32nd notes split the staff. I think if it was ever performed, the marimba players wpuld need to hold 2 mallets in each hand) There was a version I saw for brass on musescore, where they just skip the solo completely, and there was this one on tiktok/instagram where the person used a tenor recorder for the flute part. On youtube there was this trio version where they just played like the 1st 4 bars of the solo and went to the end. Pretty cool stuff, keep up the good work!
Thanks for your comments! Brandenburg 5 is next on my list and I will be recording it next week. I put alto and CBass on the Harpsichord solo but didn't include the extended cadenza. The rest is in there, though. The CBass splits between ripieno continuo and the solo part.
Please James, would you tell something about your recorders ? The Contrabass is easily recognizable (Kung), but I'm curious about your tenor which is particulary sweet ! Thanks
Hi Francis and thanks for your comment. That is an early von Huene tenor that was revoiced by Nikolaj Ronimus. He’s the one who voices for the Morgan workshop now.
@@JamesHowardYoung Thanks James ! So I understand, because the noble origin of this instrument, how sweet i found it !!! "bon sang ne saurait mentir", as we say in France.

A sparkling, fitting end to the completely Brandenburg 4! I'm particularly impressed by the recorder playing the role of the wild violin.
Saying that was insanely impressive would be an understatement!
BRAVO you bring my eyes to tears with this most brilliant performance thank you very much for making this
Beautiful! Thank you for this
Brilliant, it works so well, what fabulous playing. Cheers
