The fact that u made charts for color blind people shows how much u care about your vids. Even though u might not upload everyday like other gaming channels, when u do come out with one I can expect good quality.. Also thanks for your vids they really helped me play better with this game and now I'm hooked. Thanks Wrel.

This video is fairly old so I understand if you don't have the time to go back and read the comments but I hope you do. There's just a couple things I want to say. First of all thank you for making all of these videos. I have found all that I have watched to be extremely helpful, creative, fluid, and well edited. Second of all I would like to say that your commentaries and video subjects are fantastic. You are extremely respectful and seem to be a very kind person, even when speaking to some touchy issues. Lastly I would like to say I have an extreme amount of respect for you not only because of your general respect for others as you have shown in all your videos and your obviously large amount of skill, but the fact that you took the time and consideration to make other charts for the colorblind is absolutely fantastic. I hope you keep making videos and have a fantastic day =)
I feel the need to comment here with my immense gratitude. I laughed with relief when you mentioned the colorblind chart versions, because I was squinting for minutes while you were talking about the chart, my frustration mounting at your choice of two impossible to distinguish shades of green and yellow.
Even though I'm not colorblind I still appreciate that you were thoughtful enough to include it for others that are. Great amount of effort and quality put into these!
Thanks for the guide. The suggestions make me want to try to play this game again. When I tried playing this game the first time I had no idea what to do or which class to use. Now I have the confidence to try again.
It's worth noting that if you get Light Assault (or Engineer) from the class quiz you'll get a second carbine. these are generally sniping carbines that are designed to preform better at slightly longer ranges. I'd recommend getting laser sights for your default carbine, along with a silencer and a reflex scope. For the 'sniping' carbine take an advanced forward grip, 2x reflex sights and a compensator. Then you just pick which ever carbine best suits the fight. lots of roof tops to hide on, grab your 'sniping' carbine. Lots of indoors and close range areas, take your default carbine.
Great video! Especially liked the colorblind charts, was very helpful in not only reading chart more easily but also which form of color blindness i have.
Wrel, Just wanted to say that if you keep this level of quality in your content, especially the amount of professionalism present (Colourblind charts, consistenty, etc) I believe that you will go very far in this field.
a good tip is if you can avoid using all of your jet pack fuel it will begin regenerating immediately and you can get back to the job instead of having to wait few seconds for it to start regenerating. has saved me loads of times and not sure if anyone has noticed this just thought i might put it out there for newer players
Wrel, I think that the C4 is really good for a start because it's such a useful and versatile tool for MAX units, infantry and vehicles. It made me so happy to blow up tanks and sundies to make great moves to help my team, it's what keep me playing.
Hey i really appreciate the extra charts for color blindness, I haven't seen many UA-camrs now a-days that will go the extra step to put that in. Thanks again, you earned +1 sub.
Great video Wrel, but one thing I noticed really early on, that as it stands now roofs are camped by light assaults. What I would do, is that insted of Advanced Shield Capacitor you need to max out the nanoweave armor. Often you will face light assaults with smg's or high rof carbines, and then it comes in really handy to have that little bit more survivability.
Very nice, useful guide, my take/modification on it would be (as a main light assault player) that certing on to jumpjet to max is top priority. Of course a 5 cert reflex easily fits in to the budget.
Wrel A video where you nail the MAX to a cross, pour gasoline on him, and light him on fire? The MAX squirms and screams in pain, but you don't move, just watch with a slight smile. Camera encloses on your face and we see fire reflecting in your eyes.
Advanced shield capacitor is a great tool, but I've found that coupling it with even a low tier regeneration implant works for me. If I pick some smart engagements, I can pick people off, without needing to drop in repeatedly for medics to heal me.
You can add a same (as icon background) light blue color bar for those achievements that given from start. This way they will be shown on chart and look like solid with ability... Just design thought. Thanks for all your videos!
In my opinion C4 should be one of the earliest purchases. It completely changes the playstyle of the class from one of having to flee vehicles and maxes to being able to charge and flank them.
But C4 is extremely difficult to use, since any semi experienced players (the ones that play vehicles and MAXes the most) know what it is and how to deal with it.
I played roughly 600 hours Light assault (Time by Steam; percentage by stats - so possibly 500 comes closer) And I remember that the first C-4 is powerful enough that I would recommend it before maxing the ASC... But this was a time where you could kill most MAXes with one brick of C4... but never forget: Your primary usually deals a lot of damage to maxes. if you can surprise your enimy with a C4 and a clip of AF-4 Cyclone ammo you are likely to get a good result in that fight. just remember one thing if the Max is alive after the combo: knifing deals nearly no damage to Maxes.
just as a warning: Drifter jets with a Shotgun is addictive and can overrun your game. When i first started the loadout many months back (probably around the time Wrel recommended it) it quickly became my default class. I use it so much that i forgot howto fire automatic weapons properly, my Jump-Jet skills have become near non-existant. I'm finally trying to RE-build my assault-rifle* skills now and it's like i'm rediscovering a whole 'nother game. *(Medic was a previous fav class) JUST SAY NO TO BIRD-OF-PREY-MODE Heh, it's still my favourite playstyle to search the map for a low-pop friendly hex being capped, catapulting out the top of the spawn-room and swooping in solo with drifter-shotgun to save the day. CACKAWW CACKAWW!
(Not strictly a Cert Spending issue, but...) Once you start bringing C4 everywhere - because not being able to do jack to even AFK vehicles is too aggravating - the humble L1 Regen Implant is your friend. You don't have the luxury of hanging out with the Medics all the time, so the self-heal is invaluable. Use the free chargers, follow Wrel's advice on energy saving and collect enough implants to make an Ultra Charger. Then you're pretty much set. It's nearly impossible to run out of energy before you can make another one. As far as I can tell.
Great post..thank you..I play my LA 8% of the time. I use the GD-7F which i suggest for any starting player. I have over 1700 kill with it. Its time to kill is great. Also always ..i mean always get an height advantage...trees..buildings..you will get tons of kills that way simply because players forget to look up..carry C4 to kill Max units..
Standard jumpjets + Adrenaline pump + C4 + shotgun Open with C4, land right into the group of survivors, empty your shotgun and use jumpjets to escape. If you will not kill enough people, you will simply generate great chaos and distraction allowing your own squaddies to push. The advantage of being alone in the middle of angry enemies is great - you don't need to aim, just spray and pray while they must be careful to not kill each other while you dash in their group with your Adrenaline pump. You will die alot. You will not probably make out of this alive but it may help LA-haters in your squad to acknowledge Light Assault's role.
First off, great video! I'm really glad you created a chart for color blind people. It really helps. Also did you speed up the NC Light Assault gameplay? Or is it just the 60fps effect?
Probably the 60fps effect. I don't actually run at 60 frames per second on my machine, so there may be some wonkiness when it turns out rendered that way.
In my opinion nanoweave armor is better especially for beginners. Rank one already takes most if not all guns a bullet more to kill you while advanced shield capacitor does really mostly reduce the downtime between fights; it isnt really a live or die thing since the usual places to wait for shield recharge like rooftops are safe enough that time doesnt matter. When new you often get caught off-guard or outnumbered and are dead either way but the thing you can work on are 1v1 fights that mostly depend on aim and who shoots first. You dont know when to disengage and run or are not fast enough. But nanoweave helps with both, giving you the time edge you might need. Once you start surviving fights you can think about recovering and nanoweave scales well with a regeneration implant and is overall just pretty good. Well and flak armor is for people who dont know how to fly.
I would put your first brick of C4 higher priority since you can get huge group kills in an infantry zerg. One C4 is also enough to kill a MAX so that's another reason.
I have invested nothing into my Light Assault except for a 4x scope for spotting I can literally climb anything so what is the point of building up plus put cert into deploying a beacon basically then you have access to all your roles which is a strategy to have all your abilities available to you strategically.
when you do the guide for infiltrator, could you have a separate section for stalker. its almost a completely different class from normal sniping/machine gun infiltrator and I would love to know what you think the important things are
4:42 You were horrible to that MAX Personally I swear by maxed out nanoweave armour, simply for the countless times it has saved my life. The extra moment it grants you to escape from a room or jump into cover I find invaluable.
I'm a mid-close range skirmisher playing NC light assault using a Razor. Commonly engage enemies at medium range (a distance where sprays begin to be less effective). I've been struggling with my optics and wanted to ask what NC optic would you use?
I have a question. Do you think that vanu players lag more than tr or nc because of the alienized bullets, considering that they have effects that look somewhat difficult to process. I was wondering if u could research this and if it is a correct theory, make a video? Thanks!
Wrel can I ask what Codec you used on Dxtory for this video? Was it Lagarith? If so did you encounter any lag whilst recording? Having FPS drops my end whilst using it at 60 FPS & I don't think its a hardware issue my end. TotalBiscuit is having the same issue & has a very, very high spec machine. - I'm just trying to get an idea if everyone is having the same issue.
i play my light assault with a pump action shotgun and crossbow with 6x scope to compensate.... people enjoying light assault should realy give a shot to pump action shotgun (not just semi automatic shotgun) despite being a shotgun it need a lot of close quarter aiming skills since you can't afford to miss but when you start to master it it become epic
Nice video. How did you get 60fps when uploaded? Also could you show some sort of best recording settings for Planetside 2. Such as should I framelock with fraps or change render distance etc?
I've noticed in your videos that when you're hit by a concussion grenade, you twitch the camera around a bunch.. Does this actually help reduce the duration, or is there another reason you do it?
great video, very helpful :) have you done a rewiev for the advanced shield capicitor and if you haven't do you know a website where wa can see the stats of the differents rank. keep making great videos ps: sorry for my bad english but it's not my native languages
Great work. However, I noticed a marked increase in survivability and game enjoyment and scoring and well, fun, when I switched to Nanoweave instead. Seems I'm just bad, and bad and strafing when under fire/firing, and other players are very powerful now, with hardhitting guns and the mousehandling/twitch FPS skills to put rounds on target (I have neither skills nor perfect situational guns).
My Fav. load-out for LA (NC player): Gauss Compact S (1x, compensator, HV bullets, under barrel grande), Desperado, Drifter, C4, Flash bang, Grande bandoleer.
Wrel, I have an idea for your next video!! How about making a list of all the underrated weapons in the game?? And which weapons are not really worth their price tag.. I found out the Equinox VE2 Burst is the one of the best ARs in the game and it only costs 100 certs.. Yet, I see absolutely no one using it, which is a shame really.. It totally outperforms both the auto Equinox and Pulsar VS1 at mid range and decent at close range... Just one of the few weapons I think is way underrated..
Hello I have started playing this game this month and im loving it. I am Battle rank 49. In my light assault class i have nano weave 4. I have been puting off maxing it out because its 1k certs. Also i use the Advance shield cap more since i have it maxed and i like having my shield up. Anyways will i be able to see a big change from nanoweave 4 and max nanoweave? If not im jus gonna wait on it.
Wow! Thanks Wrel, Light Assault is my favorite class and it helps a lot! You have a new subscriber :D By the way... what weapon do you prefer for the VS light assault in terms of versatility? I have a 1000 certs to blow on a new weapon (i already have my abilities upgrades, so i do not want to spend certs on those)
CaptainMonocle07 im no expert and im not wrel, but id say its to do with how hard it is to effectively c4 fairy something when your still learning the game, the combination of advanced shield and medical kits allows you to make mistakes and take damage and regen until you get better at the game.
In the options menu, you can set faction colors to whatever works best for you. Mine are Red for enemies and Blue for allies, for other people, they use prefer faction colors; for folks with color blindness, it'd depend on what type of color blindness they have, then they'd tune the colors so that they can distinguish them more easily.
Why medkits and not just regeneration implant? I dont use medkits anymore because the regeneration implant (unless im in a vehicle) is the most useful one for me.
Light assaults can evade choke points where other classes got bogged out on. The light assault can flank then and take the (camping) enemies by surprises with its gun or c4. Also Light assaults are one of the best classes to take out sunders quickly. Giving the enemies nowhere to respawn. An light assault can also see enemies that other teammates can't see to tough it height advantage.
with the high level jump jets most positions where other classes would need aircraft to get to are not an issue. This plus the c4 opens up damage (and a little trolling) potentials for them. Light Assaults are one of the biggest reasons why attacks on bases fail. They take some insane route that only they can take because of the flight and flank everything and blow up sundies with c4. They are a class where you should freak a little when you see them do a death sprint at a important vehicle. They excel in avoiding choke points, using high ground, and sabotage.
Ok, I should have been clearer. What I meant was: when you're running SSS formation and are doing point/base capture/defence as a tight-knit group in high-stake situations, when would it be beneficial for someone to switch to LA and for what purpose?
sometimes one light assault can clear up a room alone with 2 bricks of C4 that and entire platoon has been trying to push into. With the help of windows and other entrances to said building
It depends. Nanoweave keeps you alive a little longer, while ASC gets you back into the fight quicker. If you tend to go too nuts, you want Nanoweave. If you know when to fall back and get to cover, ASC will help you out.
I think shield-capacitor (if you keep it in mind and don't just forget you have it) is a good way of training you to fight defensively and tactically. You want to move quickly and never attack from the front. If you find yourself in an **even** face-to-face fight where you can either risk dying OR quickly bug-out to the side and get to cover OR risk dying - you pick the cover (then you come back quickly with your fresh shields, before there's do.)
RiechMarshall Nimitz His point was that, if you have a hard time killing things, Nanoweave will help you win fights more often. If you don't have a hard time killing things, ASC will allow you to fight more often.
Wrel thanks. my brother wants to start playing now, Do you have any recommendation wheter he should get it over steam or directly soe? I got it via Pro7-games so i can`t tell what´s better. Also do you know what the free-stuff is?
Tek Funk I don't suggest playing PlanetSide 2 through Steam, best to just download the client directly to your computer from the official site. The free stuff a one day 50% experience boost, and an LMG. (SVA-88 for VS, EM6 for NC, or TMG-50 for TR -- not sure whether you unlock them all, or just one, though.)
The fact that u made charts for color blind people shows how much u care about your vids. Even though u might not upload everyday like other gaming channels, when u do come out with one I can expect good quality.. Also thanks for your vids they really helped me play better with this game and now I'm hooked. Thanks Wrel.
Im not colorblind but making charts so that colorblind people can read it was a really cool thing to do.
That was an idea submitted by another subscriber during the last video; hopefully someone will find it useful.
Wrel Yeah it really helped since i'm colorblind
xXTotalFrostXx
Shouldn't you guys have some kindof program which which switches colours on your screen at a quick button-press? It's what i'd be looking for.
There's already programs (eg: flux) which reduce the amount of blue light on your screen during nighttime, to preserve your circadian rhythm. So surely there must be something for colour-blind ppl.
I am color blind and I'm very thankfull some people care enough. Thx Wrel!
Nice guide, thanks for sharing. It's always interesting to see how others spend their certs and ho many different options this game has to offer!
Even though I am no beginner, I regularly come back to your videos. I always learn something watching them. :-)

Great video. I am looking forward to the other class guides even though I'm not a new player. It's nice to see someone else's very path.
Maybe for a upcoming Q&A :
Which Mechanics from Planetside (1), would you like to see implemented in Planetside 2 ?.
I appreciate the sentiment, thank you.

Absolutely. There will be one for every class (only 3 left to do,) excluding the MAX unit, which will require a bit of a different video.
Wrel A video where you nail the MAX to a cross, pour gasoline on him, and light him on fire? The MAX squirms and screams in pain, but you don't move, just watch with a slight smile. Camera encloses on your face and we see fire reflecting in your eyes.
Iridar51 lol, that'd be a fun one, wouldn't it.
Advanced shield capacitor is a great tool, but I've found that coupling it with even a low tier regeneration implant works for me. If I pick some smart engagements, I can pick people off, without needing to drop in repeatedly for medics to heal me.
this reminded me to go back and check my suit module levels. I had forgotten them in my move to cert out vehicles.
Thanks for the colorblind chart. Helped a lot
I am amazed with how much ass this dude is kicking. Well played sir. Thank you for sharing!
You can add a same (as icon background) light blue color bar for those achievements that given from start. This way they will be shown on chart and look like solid with ability... Just design thought. Thanks for all your videos!
Thanks a lot for the colorblind charts. They help a lot
I was wondering why it felt so smooth, but then I checked the "Quality" setting :)
love how smoothly it runs :3
Thanks for the color blind chart. It is a nice touch!
Thank You! I'm color blind across multiple spectrums. Thanks you for your consideration!!!!
Not a new player, but haven't played in a while, thanks for the guide :3
Oooow. That 60 FPS.
Buttery.
Shame my game doesn't actually run at 60fps. Looks better when it's rendered than it does while I'm playing, lol :'(
But our eyes can only see 24!!
/s
XtraUnicorn yes below its not smooth but tge difference between 30 and 60 or even more fps is really noticable.
xflamousz
I know... it's satire. 60 fps all the way
XtraUnicorn But 15fps is more cinematic!
Assassin's Creed: Slideshow - most cinematic game of the year 2018.

Thank you Wrel for the tips! I sure hope this youtube thing goes where you want it to.
That's kind, thank you!
Great video, please do more of these for other classes and vehicles!
One was already done for the Combat Medic, but the other classes should come soon!
That 60fps though! It's about time youtube let people upload something better than a slideshow.
(Not strictly a Cert Spending issue, but...) I have invested nothing into my Light Assault except for a 4x scope for spotting I can literally climb anything so what is the point of building up plus put cert into deploying a beacon basically then you have access to all your roles which is a strategy to have all your abilities available to you strategically.
Hey Wrel, can you talk about the PS4 version of Planetside 2. I'm really excited for it and want to hear your thoughts.
as a guy who runs LA a lot bringing a shotgun into a tower and always being on the move will almost always get me a ton of kills
im BR 65 and i still watch these "new player" vids. lol
OMG, charts for the color blind. I love you. Most people don't think about people with color issues
Love your vids wrel!
GAH the video is so SMOOOOOTH like a new born babays BOTTOM!!!
btw great vid.
+Wrel I noticed that you were shaking when you were hit by a flash bang; does that help with making the effects go way sooner?
I am out of laughing when you ride the sunderer to fight against lighting and find all the weapon is COBALT!!!!
Hey Wrel can you do another heavy guide since they've made changes to how the shields work with suit slot abilities.
when you do the guide for infiltrator, could you have a separate section for stalker. its almost a completely different class from normal sniping/machine gun infiltrator and I would love to know what you think the important things are

i am a fan of light assault. I really use light assault very well thanks a lot i can be a very good player. thanks wrel.
what weapons do you use for every factions as light assault?
I've noticed in your videos that when you're hit by a concussion grenade, you twitch the camera around a bunch.. Does this actually help reduce the duration, or is there another reason you do it?
great video, very helpful :) have you done a rewiev for the advanced shield capicitor and if you haven't do you know a website where wa can see the stats of the differents rank.
keep making great videos
ps: sorry for my bad english but it's not my native languages
Hey wrel great vid just wondering now that the icarus jump jets have come out should we those instead of the regular jump jets
I've reviewed Icarus Jump Jets here, if you're interested in their strengths and weaknesses: ua-cam.com/video/y3lTOz5Zxwk/v-deo.html
So smooth video :O
Ohh my gosh glorious 60FPS!
Whas the best carbine for NC Light Assault that is under 750 certs?
(your personal opinion)
I have a 1000 certs to blow on a new weapon (i already have my abilities upgrades, so i do not want to spend certs on those)
Welcome aboard!
For VS definitely go with the Sirius or Eridani.
Thanks, ill try it in vr training
the serpent or ns-11c are great carbines for versatility. I'd stay away from smgs unless you are in a tiny base or tower.
can you do one of these for the infiltrator class too? :3
what weapon are you using for the vanu
I got jump jets maxed out and also nanoweave. Plus C4
Why do you buy medical kit mark 2 before getting C4 since you can't equip them both? Is it just for the other class types?
CaptainMonocle07 im no expert and im not wrel, but id say its to do with how hard it is to effectively c4 fairy something when your still learning the game, the combination of advanced shield and medical kits allows you to make mistakes and take damage and regen until you get better at the game.
Was this video in 60FPS? It felt VERY fluid
Really useful Wrel thanks. Do you think you could do a similar thing for medic too?
Oh, never mind; you already have
Thank you so much!!!
it's kind of you to think of color blindness when you make the chart but first, how can a color blind play this game and differentiate friend or foe ?
In the options menu, you can set faction colors to whatever works best for you. Mine are Red for enemies and Blue for allies, for other people, they use prefer faction colors; for folks with color blindness, it'd depend on what type of color blindness they have, then they'd tune the colors so that they can distinguish them more easily.
Why medkits and not just regeneration implant? I dont use medkits anymore because the regeneration implant (unless im in a vehicle) is the most useful one for me.
Medkits heal faster than the regen implant. Easier for new players to use.
In what situation(s) would you say your squad would benefit from having a light assault over another class such as heavy, infiltrator or engie?
Is advanced shield capacitor better that nanoweave?
It depends. Nanoweave keeps you alive a little longer, while ASC gets you back into the fight quicker. If you tend to go too nuts, you want Nanoweave. If you know when to fall back and get to cover, ASC will help you out.
nanoweave will help you win more fights. ASC will keep you fighting more.
Zubito If you cant win fights theres no point in getting back into fights quicker. Youll be getting back into fights a lot slower if ur dead.
RiechMarshall Nimitz His point was that, if you have a hard time killing things, Nanoweave will help you win fights more often. If you don't have a hard time killing things, ASC will allow you to fight more often.
hm i winged my light assault kit and got every thing but the shield and last 3
thank you finally
What scope do you use?
i just got 2 c4s, couple of upgrades with drifter jetpack and wreck the enemies!!
i did not even pick up a scope
+Wrel ehhhmm this might just be me but the reflex sight costs 30 certs and not 5...
On the default carbines (Solstice, TRAC-5, Mercenary) you have access to one 1x reflex and one 2x reflex that cost you 5 certs, the rest are 30.
1080p60fps I LLOVE IT
I bought the C4 almost immediately when I began, just because I wanted to blow crap up. Was this a mistake?
+cisagent My mistake was buying 2 carbines...
+Le Hunter ah, I got the t5 amc on the new player quiz. I think I'm going to remake that character since I kinda screwed him up.
I wouldn't call it a mistake but a smart investment!
that free-stuff link leads me to a "page not found"
Thanks, just fixed it: www.j.mp/PS2free
Wrel
thanks. my brother wants to start playing now, Do you have any recommendation wheter he should get it over steam or directly soe? I got it via Pro7-games so i can`t tell what´s better. Also do you know what the free-stuff is?
Tek Funk I don't suggest playing PlanetSide 2 through Steam, best to just download the client directly to your computer from the official site. The free stuff a one day 50% experience boost, and an LMG. (SVA-88 for VS, EM6 for NC, or TMG-50 for TR -- not sure whether you unlock them all, or just one, though.)
let me get this straight. You made multiple charts based on Colorblindness!? Who dose that!? Bravo Sir. I salute you.....
Glad you approve :D
