- In this video we unbox our first look at the Fast and Furious Silver Line cars from Hot Wheels. This is a continuation of the Wal-Mart exclusive line of Fast and Furious "basics" that now feature new wheels and metal chassis -- well, three of the five have metal chassis.
These have been incredibly hard to find and retail for around $3.49 plus tax USD.

I can already tell as soon as this drops on my end, the JDMs and the Porsche would be the first to go. I could be wrong since all of these look sweet.
Agree there - the GT40 will likely be the peg warmer of the bunch (if there are any at all). It’s been crazy seeing how fast these recent F&F lines have disappeared from stores. The Corvette will probably do better bc of the metal chassis and better wheels.
@@64Wheels I definitely love those 2 castings actually plus the Porsche. I could care less on those 2 JDMs since I still owned the first RX-8
I really like the Corvette casting and the Porsche casting. The S2000 is good but it’s been released so many times already if you already have one, especially the premium version, you don’t “need” another one. It’ll be interesting to see if we ever get a full premium version of the GT40 in the F&F line as that’s one we haven’t gotten yet.
@@64Wheelsso update. I finally got my hands on the custom corvette at a local diecast show. Really happy with this beast of a casting. I would also say I got the Chevy Nova from the second wave at my local Walmart so great to say this is the best year for Letty’s sweet rides. Still hunting for the Porsche.

Another informative video. The metal/metal with plastic wheels are the best for racing. Glad to see the RX8 is being produced by Hot Wheels and Matchbox.
The metal/metal cars are pretty great on the track and the newer wheels look the part too! I prefer plastic tires as well bc the rubber ones are often misshaped and breakdown over time. It’s funny to see both Hot Wheels and Matchbox release an RX8 at the same time - I think I prefer the stock looking Matchbox version over the wild looking custom Hot Wheels car though.
I like the Matchbox and the 2nd release is red which a friend of mine owns in real life...the original owner.@@64Wheels

5:14 the reason the GT40 features a lot & gets repeated releases is probably because Mattel had casting for a good number of years.
They're simply making the most of it, same with the blue Ford Escort RS & silver Nissan R34 Skyline. The worst offender has to be that silver Corvette Grand Sport in silver, which must have been released at least 4 or 5 times now, with 2 or 3 mainline versions.
That casting always sits on pegs here in the UK, irrespective of what colour it is
I think its their OG 1999 castings with one rivet. I have one of the first edition that uses the same casting which oddly enough have the same color and similar-ish pinstripes with number 59. It was my first hw when I was a kid. Didn't they released the newer GT40 casting with 2 rivets? I think I saw 3 variants, blue, black and white with number 8.
If you watch Craig Lieberman’s UA-cam, he has a video talking about the worst cars from fast and the furious series. He absolutely hated the RX8 and how it looked.

I am looking at one of mine right now, and mine is a lot different to the one you opened here.
The casting on mine is much crisper, and the paint has no speckling.
The lights on mine are where they should be.
HWs quality control definitely has better days than others lol. Some cars I get I’m like, hey, these are pretty good - and others look like they were painted by hand in a kindergarten art class 😫

Yeah all re-releases but at least we’re getting new wheels and metal on metal outside the premium line. The new to the basics castings are nice to have but I still don’t wanna pay nearly $4 each for them 😫
@@64Wheels They have milked the FF cars for about 9 or 10 years. Several which are essentially the same release with maybe a wheel change or quality change. The first few times were ok but now it's getting nauseating. There is so many other things they could release. It also doesn't help that a certain segment of collectors keep buying essentially the same thing over and over...
@das-qr3zi oh definitely agree there. I even collect this line and I’m sick of the repeat castings and the constant milking of the line with releasing cars that were barely in the movies. I’m okay with the line as long as we get new and/or updated releases - but not even a diehard F&F collector needs 5 of the same stupid green Torinos lol.
@@64Wheels while I'm with you there, unfortunately the sharks/scalpers always steam in for the same models all the time. We all know its Mk4 Supras & R34 Skylines that will be snapped up first by the JDM fans & believe it or not, some of us STILL miss out on one or two. Mattel are probably using that excuse to keep repeating.

Yeah they are super hard to find - I knew I wouldn’t find them either that’s why I paid extra for them on eBay😫
