Never pointed the finger and really tried his best. Good Luck Daniel Jones, and I was that guy that was pulling for you.
Leaving aside that he was drafted so high by an atrocious general manager, if DJ had gone to a team with any kind of a decent front line and receivers, it’s very possible he’d have been more successful. The Giants had already been sliding into the hole during Eli’s last years, and Mara wasn’t wrong in saying the team wasn’t helping Jones. At this point, the lowest I can recall after rooting for 60 years, any player is happier leaving than coming. It’s very sad. I don’t discount that DJ will get another shot elsewhere and come out looking like a decent quarterback. As everyone else points out, he’s been and remains a class act.
Will always remember Danny Dimes playing his heart out in that playoff win over the Vikings. Best of luck to a tough as nails competitor, great teammate and always a class act.
Hes a class act. But hes got to be thankful. I cannot see any other organization/NFL owner giving him 6 years as a QB1. That is insanely loyal in my book with all those losses and injuries.
I do not think DJ ever had the chance he deserved in coaching the first few years, then a great 2022.. 2023 he had no O-line and all the QB's got hurt that year.. If everyone gets hurt with a bad, maybe it isn't the QB.. This year.. I think he got gun shy, constantly getting pounded into the ground once Thomas got hurt, they had no legit back up to take his place.. I feel bad for DJ, I think like other QB's that did bad in the teams that drafted them, DJ will find his home and do well there.. He has the talent.. Rumor has it after Sam this year, the Vikings will be looking at DJ.. But I am hoping he goes someplace else where he will have the coaching and offensive line he needs.. There i think he will do better than he did in 2022 for us.. He has an amazing arm.. -- Thanks DJ.. Thank you for everything, thanks for giving your all... I appreciate all that you have done.. Hold your chin up high..
Well, I have a lot of respect for him coming out and giving as straight of answers as he could. I’d bet his agent flatly told him not to waive the injury clause, and that’s probably what’s best for him, especially given his injury history. I wish him nothing but the best in whatever his future holds, and I think at some point, we’ll see him coaching in the NFL. His game preparation and work ethic has never been in question. He’s always been a class act, and this interview speaks volumes to that. He’s obviously emotional, but a lot of other players would be walking away or doing the bare minimum necessary to continue getting his checks. Instead, he’s still with the team, helping his replacement prepare, working with the defense (which I think is a good idea as long as he isn’t hurt), and doing what’s asked of him despite the situation. To him working with the D - he brings a perspective to the game a pure defenseman may not have. Showing them what to look for in the offense, doing what he can to help his teammates…again, just a class act. I hope he succeeds in whatever he does next, as long as it’s not in the NFC East.
Hope he does well somewhere else I really wanted it to work here in New York with giants. As sucky as this era has been I’ll still hold 2022 dearly and watching him that season genuinely was fun. Hope this drives him and he gets another shot somewhere
Just a thought: You have to wonder if Daniel played with that injury guarantee in the back of his head and couldn’t feel like he could do everything he wanted to do because he was trying not to get hurt so that he could continue playing 😎
He got paid handsomely for being below mediocre , processing information quickly wasn’t his strong suit. Six years of failure and disappointment, the Giants football organization did the right thing of parting ways with him .
Atleast he made his fortune. The nfl isn’t for everyone. If you cant read through your progressions or know how to stay alive in the pocket than you will not be able to play qb in the pros.
I'm a giants fan in Seattle. Thank you daniel jones for beating the seahawks in your last season. You're a tough sob and I wish you nothing but the absolute best in your future. You deserve it.
He’s a nice, respectable guy who clearly works hard. Just wasn’t good enough to be the player that the organization drafted him to be. It is what it is. I wish him well.
He didn't win games, it sucks. I dont hate the guy, just a crappy situation..he was the QB, he had my support, that simple. I always want the players to do the best.
I pray this man stay's HEALTHY and gets an opportunity to thrive somewhere else. As much as I love the Giants and root for them each week, they have a losing culture and need to make controversial decisions to right the ship.
This guy is not the victim. The mofo is rich beyond what he ever deserved. I do hope he catches on somewhere else. Maybe less pressure will help him. But make no mistake. He is possibly the most colossal failure in Giants history. Gentleman, Daboll, and Schoen all have filthy hands.
Lol they got like 7 games left is the guy getting cut? Lol . This is a interview you have the last game of the season not with half a dozen games left in the season. No pre draft evaluation has ever been more spot on than what Mcshay said about this guy.
He played his last snap as a giant. It’s because of his contract. The giants decided to guarantee him money if he gets hurt. So he’s getting benched the rest of the season so they don’t have to pay him in case of injury.
Tough day for him!!! But you can tell by him saying I’ll be alright elsewhere and move on. He wants out!!! The team wants him but the coach don’t!!! You will do great elsewhere my brother!!! Thanks for the playoff Run!! And not getting killed running for your life!!! Wish you all the best!!!

It was a fluke
Hes a class act. But hes got to be thankful. I cannot see any other organization/NFL owner giving him 6 years as a QB1. That is insanely loyal in my book with all those losses and injuries.
And turnovers!
Omg enough
Class act and great teammate. Wish him luck on his next chapter but it was time and we need wins.
Wish you were a better QB my man cause you're a class act. Best of luck
Hope he does well somewhere else I really wanted it to work here in New York with giants. As sucky as this era has been I’ll still hold 2022 dearly and watching him that season genuinely was fun. Hope this drives him and he gets another shot somewhere
Why???
THANK YOU DJ❗️YOU ALWAYS GAVE 💯
This is best for both Giants and Danny. Good luck young man
Just a thought: You have to wonder if Daniel played with that injury guarantee in the back of his head and couldn’t feel like he could do everything he wanted to do because he was trying not to get hurt so that he could continue playing 😎
He is just bad
He got paid handsomely for being below mediocre , processing information quickly wasn’t his strong suit. Six years of failure and disappointment, the Giants football organization did the right thing of parting ways with him .
I’m glad this chapter in Giants history is finally over.
Time to break out the champagne.
@@gerrymchale8965 Wish I could. Currently 7 months pregnant. Maybe I will treat myself to a sparking cider or a cup of hot cocoa tonight, haha.
whats over? nothing is over how god damn stupid a comment
He's such a class act, fell bad for the dude.
DJ is a class act. A model of professionalism.
Atleast he made his fortune. The nfl isn’t for everyone. If you cant read through your progressions or know how to stay alive in the pocket than you will not be able to play qb in the pros.
As a Patriots fan I wish the best for him, stand up guy for sure. Good luck Dan!
I'm a giants fan in Seattle. Thank you daniel jones for beating the seahawks in your last season. You're a tough sob and I wish you nothing but the absolute best in your future. You deserve it.
Sorry he’s not a good QB but he is a good man and a stand up guy! Best of luck to him!!!!!
Always hoped he could become the guy but it became evident he couldn't never wanted him to fail but it is what it is
He’s a nice, respectable guy who clearly works hard. Just wasn’t good enough to be the player that the organization drafted him to be. It is what it is. I wish him well.
Why do you deliberately not look at Malik's way? After all he is the best receiver on the team. 😳
He didn't win games, it sucks. I dont hate the guy, just a crappy situation..he was the QB, he had my support, that simple. I always want the players to do the best.
It is a shame there was never a coach to set him up in a system he could thrive in.
This whole press conference made total sense a day later.
Best of luck Daniel, it does take a TEAM to have success as well as solid coaches which I don't believe you ever had
I pray this man stay's HEALTHY and gets an opportunity to thrive somewhere else. As much as I love the Giants and root for them each week, they have a losing culture and need to make controversial decisions to right the ship.
Reporter wanted Daniel to fumble with that question about Schoen comments..
Your a class act!! My heart goes out to u and the Team! Let's go Big Blue!
I like his toughness… But all the folks that said he had no business being picked number 6 in that draft were right for certain
Great guy. Happy for him for getting his money. But let's be honest, he was never a starting caliber QB.
People railed on Dave Brown but even he had a better win percentage.
He'd make a heck of a coach. All u owners remember him after his retirement. He'll make u proud.
He's hurting, and, you can tell he doesn't like what happened, and, has no choice but to accept it!
He's a good dude who gave it his all it just wasn't good enough. Hope he finds success somewhere else. No need to bash him
All jokes aside, its always hard to see a player go through this!🙏🏼
Tough day for him!!! But you can tell by him saying I’ll be alright elsewhere and move on. He wants out!!! The team wants him but the coach don’t!!! You will do great elsewhere my brother!!! Thanks for the playoff Run!! And not getting killed running for your life!!! Wish you all the best!!!
This is Sad, but it also should have been done 3 years ago ! Good Luck on your journey Daniel 👋🏼
I hope he lands in a great spot for him somewhere that wants to win not a sry team that didn’t invest in him as he deserved
He really did sacrifice his body for this team. It just sucks some of his best plays were running plays.. wish he let the ball fly more. Bottom line he just doesn't throw enough TDs. Seems like a great guy. Good luck bro.
the most hated qb in the league that’s actually the hardest to hate. i’ll miss DJ. hardest worker this team has had in a long time. just not enough wins and good performances to back it up. hope he goes on to be more successful. i’ll always root for him. go giants
Class act. Hopefully Jones will have the same luck as Sam Donald has had with the Vikings somewhere else. Stranger things have happened
I hope DJ turns another team around and wins. I liked DJ. Damn shame my Giants were just a train wreck the last decade but that’s football. Good luck DJ! God bless you! ❤
Class act thank you for who you are!!!
Class act !!!
This was never about his character. He's a good guy. For whatever reason, playing the qb position was just very difficult. It's been 6, long years now. Maybe a change is good for all involved. Whatever is going on now isn't working. It's time.
Seems like a good dude. Hope he lands a role where he could flourish.
You wish he was just more talented because he has everything else. Right move for the organization and I'm happy they did it, at the same i do feel bad for Daniel as a person and wish it worked out
We may well come to regret this.
@@josephkelley8641 i strongly doubt that. I like him as a person but he sucks as a QB. Its definitely time to move on
Too many of these 'fans' wishing him well were either crushing this dude his whole career or quiet the whole time and letting other fans get away bashing him even when he played well. The whole Giants organizations failed him from the Maras to the fans.
It's akin to breaking up with someone you like but they're just not for you. Let's turn the page!
