So much better when rounds have dates, takes the mystery right out of it! When in coin shops, I'll pay 2-5 over spot for most vintage depending what it is. I cherry pick the more rare pieces these days. Your 85' looks great!
@@LibertyBleeds We’re fortunate near me. Three of the four in my area are really good. The fourth, I don’t go anywhere near because there is just “that vibe”.
@@LibertyBleedsOh yeah. If you’re selling, they lowball you, and charge an arm and a leg if you’re buying. I’ve never heard anyone say anything good. The three I frequent are also collectors/stackers, so they get it.
Cool find man . I got hooked on one oz bars & art bars, I find um at a pawn shop usually $1.50 over spot . I almost have my first gard box of 50 full 😊
The few peices of nice & a handful I have that are in the same catagory. I would scoop up back in 2018 - 19 the vintage finds I could sort through the seconardy bin at a dollar over spot .

Everybody likes getting as low a price as possible on every purchase, but if you are collecting and filling holes in a collection of rare pieces, you will usually pay up for it. In fact I just paid $149 for a 1987 Libertad today and I paid $45 for a 1982 Libertad to fill some holes in my Libertad collection. I have paid $150 for Gold Standard bars in the past and now they are over $200 when you find them. You can certainly spend many hundreds on rare Engelhards and Johnson Matthey bars. Just depends on how deep down the rabbit hole you are willing to go when you get bit by the Collector Bug!
Great pickups LBS, I really like the cool design of the vintage Silverado round, the sun reminds me of the sun on Sunshine Mining rounds, the 2 A-Mark rounds are superb additions for your collection, sometimes you get lucky & sometimes you just gotta pay a premium for the coins & rounds you need. Cheers Peter J 🤗👋🔥💪🙏👍
I thought the same thing about the sun on the Silverado. I think I did very well. Picked up some real beauties for just a few dollars over a spot. I've had some great days at the LCS's. I appreciate you stopping by! ✌🏼😁
Awesome graphics, I’m continually tested with what price I’ll go to, I draw a line at a price before you know it I’m passed that point, price is not static.
Mainly I get my silver from the big deallers wait for promos. Recently stopped at my LCS twice abd grabbed a bunch of slabbed ASE. I was watching a 1982 A Mark on ebay but with shipping it's almost $40 so I passed but still searching. I ordered a 1oz gold buffalo yesterday from SD Bullion unfortunately used CC so total came to 2700 😡 abd of course gold retraced a decent amount today. Either way I wanted one now I have one. If I get more gold I might just do 1/2 oz Gold Maples echeck for cash price no stupid CC upcharge. Great stuff as always 😎👍
Silver draws a fine line between currency and art. Art is very subjective. You might be willing to pay $32 and someone else willing to pay $50. Buy what you love and you can’t go wrong. Nice rounds brother 🤙
That's definitely a case by case basis question. I have a soft spot for vintage but most of what I find I pick up at a low price. Always going through what folks have sold back. I have spent $50 for one at a coin show, that is the highest. It depends on the piece. I need more generic weight actually, i don't like stacking things that I hate to sell. 😂
Totally agree with you. I paid $50 for Hoffman and Hoffman at a coin show. I have gone higher for other types but not vintage. The uglier the stack the easier it is to sell the prettier the collectible the harder it is to give up. May your stack survive your collection! 😆👍🏼
My secret place doesn't really charge a vintage premium 🤠 but probably would pay up to 50 or so if rare and really wanted it,now vintage bars ive gone crazy on ,spent 300 plus for a one ounce rare 500 or less mintage 🤷♂️👍👊
I buy from my lcs', but one of them doesn't get much vintage in anymore. My guy at the flea market has been having a lot of vintage this year for some reason. If I can get them in my lcs', I rarely pay much more than $30 for vintage unless I know its rare. I don't buy high.

Sounds like our strategies are very similar and of course who doesn't like picking pick cherries! Good to see you Struck
Thank you
NICE
Thanks man

I’ve been lucky so far. My LCS’s haven’t been charging a “vintage” premium on what I’ve purchased.

That envelope is beautiful 😍 and the silver beauties inside it too😍😍
It's a great shop. They are a little pricey but very nice and always have awesome pieces.
Wow, beautiful collections.
Thank you so much 😊
Cool rounds! Love that collection of A-Marks!! I paid $38 for an older CCM round but try to limit my overpaying to silver bars! 😂

got a couple vintage pieces. my LCS sold it to me for regular price a few bucks over spot. do'nt have anything else vintage
That was just recent too right?
Iv got a 2oz vintage bar that i paid $400 for.. Thats ware i draw the line and do some head scratching.. My largest premium to date...
Dang... even days later it's still crazy! 😆
I try not to pay too much for vintage but when I’m collecting a series, I just can’t help myself LOL 😂😂

Absolutely I said bars! Going to have to look those up now. 😎👍🏼
I'll pay up to $5 over spot for rounds or bars that I want, even much more if they are a limited amount or something I really want 👍🐦🔥

@@LibertyBleeds you are lucky you have an eye for stuff like that. My wife does as well, me not so much.

I don't have to buy...( In a Steve Martin voice) I'm already a wild and crazy guy
