Well as I see it, alpacas are like chickens - the maths works out as have 3 and then a few more and a few more - as long as you have the land! LOL! It is important to have 3 if you want them as flock guards just in case one is under the weather, the other two will still protect the flock - probably protecting themselves too. Cheers Tashia. It was interesting to know that they are always on guard and that is why one is never enough. xx
I get flaming mad when I see people on UA-cam upload a video and showoff their single "pet" alpaca. I literally get angry FOR the alpaca. I know you uploaded a similar video like this but thank you for spreading awareness.
I started my herd wanting 3 alpacas...left the farm putting down money on 4 alpacas... when I went to pick them up...brought home 5 alpacas 🦙 😆 they are so much better in a small herd like that. They also look like a bigger risk to attack than a lone alpaca
We have two alpacas and two small llamas in our little herd, next to the goat pasture. I sure would not want less. They do really well together.

That’s the way it goes It’s so hard to resist getting more!!
when we had horses we had 3. I thought your answer would be that it doesn't allow for 1 to get picked on all the time
That can happen too.
I had to watch this twice because I was too focused on the fluffy butt over your shoulder to listen 😂
Do you have any lady alpacas expecting a cria at the moment please Tashia?
