Everything turns into sugar, carbs just does it faster (especially if white bread etc). Both type (slow/fast) and amount matters. But yes: especially in the Philippines - read the labels!

Hey Dennis, I was 275 lbs. I started counting calories (2000) a day, eating 5-6 times a day (small amounts. I weigh 185 now. But most important is that one special day a week you eat anything you want. I discovered your stomach shrinks, and you don't eat as much on your one day. Keep up your exercise. I hope this helps!
Follow gluten free dairy free foods I don’t know if they have it there but they do make ice cream sugar free dairy free yes some use coconut milk or keto maybe you can find something that can give yourself a treat

I am a type 2 diabetic and what really helped my A1C and blood sugar levels is cutting out carbohydrates as much as you can. It helped me so much that I was able to get off of my meds. Cutting out the carbs also helped me to lose about 40lbs. I know it can be hard and you may feel like your missing out on some foods such as bread, pasta, potatoes and rice. I know it was difficult for me also and still is sometimes, but it is worth it. We love you and praying for you. Happy New Year Dennis and Marissa. Look forward to more videos in 2025.

Quaker oatmeal, take it with a bit of milk and a little bit of brown sugar. Did you know that all the fat free products have increased sugar to make them taste better? I know, you can’t win… You’re doing remarkably well. I admire you for trying to change the foods you eat. Keep it going you two! A change of lifestyle is no mean task. I have diabetes and I minimize my carbs too. Just one slice of bread a day,but it’s important to increase the fibre intake as that reduces the over all amount of carbs being absorbed and makes me feel fuller. I take quarter of a bowl of bran buds with a bit of milk. I eat fresh fruit, salad and veggies and protein. You are so wise when you say I’m following Drs. orders. Ketosis, at his age/health profile? Absolutely disagree. All diets are silly - just eat healthy. Forcing such a huge change on him would likely fail miserably. Just take a multivitamin if possible deficiencies.

Add to that the need of a complete makeover as far as eating goes, and the fact that most claims regarding any diet is mostly myths and wishful thinking...I would strongly suggest just adapting healthier eating habits. Breaking ketosis is super easy, and maintaining the diet is for even only that reason difficult. But since humans need glucose (irrelevant of source) I don't see any reason to go on any diet at all. Eat healthy, eat moderate amounts, cut out allergens (if any). Easier to employ, easier to maintain and without the issues that all diets come with. Humans have managed to eat normal for almost all of our existence. There's no need to go on diets, just stop eating American style! The best thing for Dennis would be to start counting calories, and staying at a daily deficit.
Oatmeal is very bad for diabetics. Especially instant oats because they are highly processed. Also, those protein powders are very loaded with sweeteners. They get away with not labeling it as sugar and putting it on the label because they use a natural sweetener that isn't required to be included on labels. JUST TAKE YOUR SUGAR BLOOD TEST AFTER EATING SOMETHING TO SEE HOW YOUR BODY REACTS TO IT. IF YOUR BLOOD SUGAR GOES HIGH THEN DON'T EAT IT. The best diet for diabetics is any kind of meat, eggs, and low carb vegetables such as Broccoli, Brussel Sprouts, leafy greens(mustard green, collard green, spinach).
My husband was a diabetic and so we went to diabetes education classes. Oatmeal is actually one of the best foods for diabetics, it’s high in fiber and that helps to regulate blood sugar.

You need to get into ketosis, and that toast provent you from getting there. Dont eat anny food that have a label. Use sea salt that have mineral.
