Here is the unboxing of my first delivery from SDI ( Sonoran Desert Institute ) man am i excited to start my classes. I will try my best to make videos of this journey. If you have any questions just ask.
For students looking to hone their gunsmithing skills, learn the techniques needed to operate a gunsmithing business, gain a valuable credential or expand their hobby into a career, SDI’s Certificate in Firearms Technology - Gunsmithing (formerly titled Advanced Gunsmithing Certificate) program is a great fit. In this 32-credit program, you’ll learn gunsmithing techniques and practices, shooting sports management, and more-you’ll also complete a build of your choice.
COURSEWORK
The Certificate in Firearms Technology - Gunsmithing program is broken into 2, 16-week semesters. Because of our flexible learning options, students choose to study at whatever time of day works best but will still be able to engage with other online learners and instructors as a part of weekly assignment requirements.

Welcome to the club! I'm over halfway done with the program. Just finished the muzzle loader build and kydex fabrication. I'm loving the program! There is a lot you can learn. I've been apprenticing with a local gunsmith and the things I've learned have helped out tremendously. Enjoy the courses.

@@JohnRando904 the ultimate goal is buy a lathe and start building custom bolt guns… in the mean time, I’ll just take whatever general work I can do in my garage with hand tools. Deep cleans, optics mounting, trigger jobs, stuff like that.

It's been a year. How did the class go
So I had a very unique situation arise to where i was unable to complete the course i had to put it on pause for now.
My experience in college is that they start everyone out at the lowest of low level because the instructors don’t want to be trying to teach quantum physics and realize a couple students don’t know how to add or multiply.
That's not how college is supposed to work though. It's post-secondary education, meaning you should meet the pre-requisites. The people who signed up for quantum physics are having their time and money wasted while the few are being taught to add and multiply. 🤷🏻♂️
