The requirements of being a great singer must:
1. Be able to deliver every message of the song to the audiences.
2. Focus on the deepness. I mean "Feel" instead of just being very good
3. Be sincere & natural
4. Not be too technical. It just needs his own style of singing
And, he grabs all of the requirements i just mentioned

Contrary to some comments that says Jason seems to be chewing a gum, I actually think he made the lyrics clear.
So, regarding this performance, I think he used his strengths to his advantage. He has great vocal dynamics and can actually do falsettos cleanly so I liked the fact that he made a way around it and injected it in his performance to make it his own.
Next, really great choice of song. This song has become very commercial already that probably (almost) everyone knows it. It was easy to speak to his audience through his singing.
Lastly, we cannot deny that he looks good on stage. He looks very sleek up there so I'm sure it somehow added some points to his already great performance.
I know many may argue that this is The Voice and yes, it is your voice that will get you in. But when all those chairs turned already, the overall package on the artists would be a factor. I'm not saying that Jason will win this season but he has an advantage because of how he packages himself. I hope he'd be consistent but with progression.

Nowadays, I don't think competitions like 'The Voice' are solely after the technicality. Moreover, I guess the coaches are looking for something extra special. Something that makes them stand out from the rest. On Jason's case, he may not be as good as Douglas vocal-wise, technical-wise or soulful-wise (well, in my own opinion, he is) but Jason obviously has his advantages too. He's got the 'charisma' that hooks people's (especially the youth/girls) attention; The 'vibe' that makes him unique and not outdated; The 'love' for the fans that makes his fans love him back, and a whole lot of other cons. Not to mention that he consistently chooses songs that he knows the people of today would relate to. On the other hand, Douglas has good vocals too, don't get me wrong, but my point is... let us accept the fact that we all have our own views and that judging is subjective. If you like Douglas over Jason, it's fine... but please free Jason from harsh criticisms. It's not Jason's fault that Douglas was sent home anyway. Let's just respect Coach Sarah's decision. Support the artist you guys are rooting for and leave the others alone. Stop criticizing. Besides, they were all chosen to be in the competition because each and every one of them is special. Sobrang fan talaga ako ni Daryl, so may pagka bias ako nung mapanood ko ito. I was in denial at first. Iniisip ko na mas maganda ang version ni Daryl. Pero after watching Jason's performance, magaling din si Jason, at iba ang galing niya. Ewan ko, iba talaga sila kaya di ko maintindihan kung bakit sila laging nacocompare. Hindi ko mapepredict kung sino sa kanila ang magtatagal sa show, pero I know na it will all depend on the right song choice. These guys need to pick a good song because I am rooting for them.

Ang pagkakanta ni Jason dito parang pinaghalong Eric Santos, Kris Lawrence at Sarah geronimo. Mas distinct yung technic ni Daryl sa adlibs nya, very unique and original. Ang kay Daryl kahit sabihin pa natin na parang ka style ni Jay-ar, napapansin mo yung huskiness sa bitaw ng mga salita kayat malalaman at malalaman mong si Daryl Ong nag kumakanta and if you listen carefully, Daryl has a great diction, klaro...naiintindihan mo ang lyrics. But at the end of the day, pareho silang magaling at may future sa industrya. Patuloy lang nating suportahan ang mga artists na gusto natin. Peace!

I think they are very distinct. You can see na magkaiba ang style ni Jason Dy at Daryl Ong although pareho silang RnB artists. I like both versions, and I can't tell kung sino at anong version ang mas nakaka-angat kasi magkaiba talaga.
