They are only called Snow Speeders because we only saw them on Hoth. Even in the film they say "we are having trouble adapting the speeders to the cold". Wonderful diorama. I always have trouble with my surface textures coming off as I progress, and I end up having to patch lots of small areas as I go on.
Yes! It got to a point in this video that it became a sandspeeder :) I always find plenty of glue helps with holding everything in place and that all important IPA 👍
This might be one of my favorite dioramas due to the variation in color of the terrain. Seems like everyone does the same color for rocks, vegetation, etc. It's refreshing to see someone take the time to apply different paints and washes to add contrast.
Looks really good... What I always say... Use watered down PVA glue on the cotton wool. Flames and smoke are not Fluffy. This way you can sculpt the smoke and flames and it dry's hard. Only, you need to work in layers. Maybe it is a thing to try out.
Thank you! I think that's something I may have to try. I've messed about with mat varnish and cotton wool in the past but have never been 100% happy with the look.
Great work! lovely landscape Dio and model. Revell always reminds me of when I started as a kid on cheap 1:72 model fighter aircraft I got from my pocket money. Thick layers of undiluted enamel paint, all black canopy and landing gear that broke off as soon as you put them down 🤓Still fun though, they usually ended up as firework experiments 🚀🎆🧨
Thank you! I really appreciate it :) I have to say that I don't have lots of experience with model kits, but I've been pretty impressed with these little Revell kits! They are a great price for what you get 😁
Great vid +1. If you were unhappy with the windshield then you could try a thinned down white enamel wash in the cracked glass effect to mimic the refracted light effect of a cracked window. Might amplify it a bit more without needing to carve into the plastic any further and ending up with something overdone and should still be mostly reversible with spirits if you aren't happy. Just a thought since it seemed like the part you were most unhappy with (apart from your soldering).
I saw that Revell Snow Speeder in a local hobby shop and thought it would make for a brilliant diorama, you're a mind reader mate! Keep up the good work, looking so good!
You've done this just in time as the T-47 is my next model so you have given me a few ideas. BTW the T-47 was originally an Airspeeder, the Rebel Alliance were in the process of converting them for cold conditions just before The Battle of Hoth. Also after re-watching TESB I noticed that the colour scheme is a generic one rather than the one that Luke had
Great diorama just a thought, since it wouldn’t create any additional work to the diorama you might consider adding a figure, like a Star Wars legion scaled Jawa to add just a little more interest. Just a thought it doesn’t need it but I just thought it might look cool
Thanks. I had considered cutting a whole in the base beforehand, but I didn't want to make too much of a mess. I'm hoping the batteries will last a good while!
You use model colour in the air brush. I struggle with the dilution ratio as it's way too think to use neat. What's your dilution method if you don't me me asking

You definitely went to "the bigger the blob the better the job" School of soldering.
Cool video. All the detail is great.

Thank you! I wanted to try and make something a little different with this piece but also familiar if that makes any sense 😅
The plastic sheeting trick to get an impression of the crashed speeder was a slick. Nice job
Looks really good...

That's a really good idea! I'll be sure to keep that one in mind next time.

You've dinner an incredible job. I'm impressed with your work, but this is imo of my and my son's favorite vessels of Star Wars. Excellent.
Thanks so much! I have to agree with you this is one of my favourite Star Wars vehicles.

Amazing Work!
Thanks!
Fantastic! Thanks for the detailed explanation. Where do you get your polystyrene sheet please?
I'm going to be trying to create a diorama with a tiny Bandai X-Wing. Might even have a bit of water in it.
Absolutely beautiful work man! You have just taught me a lot of new crafting techniques, thank you!
Thanks so much buddy!

Very impressive.
Yo Great video and great build. I know how much work goes into these videos - a true labour of love. Keep em coming.

Awesome work man! Love the detail right down to the scorched ground behind 🔥
Thanks mate!

Love that idea!
Great video as always 👍🏼
Really awesome diorama!!! 😊
Thank you!
Not bad, but you forgot that you have to change the batteries...
I recommend leaving a hole in the bottom from which you can access it 🙂
Thanks. I had considered cutting a whole in the base beforehand, but I didn't want to make too much of a mess. I'm hoping the batteries will last a good while!
