What a wonderfully informative video! I'm glad to hear Licca-chan can share clothes with Barbie. I just bought my first Licca and so it's great to hear that she won't have to stay in her dress once she arrives.
I'm glad it was helpful to you! She fits wonderfully in Barbie clothes, though it may be a little bit longer/looser than on her. :) congrats on getting your first Licca-chan! Shes a great doll
I really love the Licca chan dolls. I do not own any. I do have a Takara Jenny and a boy doll with shoulder length straight hair. I don't remember his name. Tom, maybe? He's adorable and so is she. I got him from Ebay, but the Jenny was bought for me in Japan when one of my dad's cousins visited their son over there. He and his wife spent a couple of years teaching English over there. I wish I had been closer with him--I would have sent piles of money to him to get me more dolls and rement. :)
Do the third and fourth generation/Castle Liccas all fit in the same clothes? I'm looking to buy my first Licca and I want to make clothes for her from Japanese craft books but they don't really say which Licca body they're meant for. Thanks!
I would say that they could all fit in the same clothes. 4th gen, which is what most of the books are for, if by far the largest/tallest. 3rd gen is a bit shorter than 4th, but is about the same size. if you're looking for more sewing patterns, Licca-chan also fits nicely in Skipper clothes.
@@gurliebot I hadn't even thought to use Skipper patterns and now I'm regretting passing them up when I've seen them at shops 😭 but thanks for the info! As a follow up question: do you have any advice on where to buy a Licca? I'm deliberating between buying a used 90s vintage Licca from etsy or a new Licca from Amazon since the price is about the same.
@@alopez7465 There's loads of pdf Skipper patterns on etsy. :) Not sure where you're located, but I'm in the US and don't need to worry about import taxes. I always expect shipping to be expensive and if I like something that's older I'll buy it regardless of price, lol! I've bought my vintage Licca-chan's from Mandarake, which is a Japanese second-hand shop. I highly recommend them since they have decent pricing and great description/pictures so there's no nasty surprises. They also have new playline dolls sometimes. I've also bought a new playline doll from amazon japan since they ship to the US. I also will buy new Castle Licca dolls from an ebay seller that's located in Japan.
@@gurliebot Thank you! Just ordered a vintage 90s Licca chan from an etsy seller with lots of Liccas for sale 😊 I've browsed Amazon Japan and I might order a Licca closet from there because I want a cute storage method for all the clothes I plan on making, but I'll definitely also check out Mandarake! I do live in the US, so shipping is about as expensive as would be expected to send a package across the world 😅

Thank you, I needed this review. As a new potential buyer they all look the same to me. Now I can see differences.
Beautiful dolls, in Japan Licca-Chan is as important and legendary as Barbie.

So kawaii ♡♡♡
what a nice video!
Thank you! 😊
How does the hair differ? Do the ones have more rooted hair and less bald spots?
Does the straight hair brunette have smaller face size than the rest?
Nope! I think her bangs just make it look smaller. :)
